Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Eloi! Eloi, lama sabachthani!
Jelani coming back, which is awesome news and huge for next year, is worth wading through six pages of dreck on this accursed website. Actually, I'd say that is above par value for time spent here.

Site looks great -- I know redesigns are a bitch. I do think this Ticket Exchange subforum banner takes up way too much space on desktop.

Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Eloi! Eloi, lama sabachthani!
- Biff Poggi Is Tired of Your Shit
Hilarious. The Michigan 'reporter,' Von Lozon, is a dumbass. Poggi was saying that he knew the Texas hosts of the Stampede podcast would not pray for Michigan to win. That is all. Ran and wrote an article about something he was too dumb to understand. That'll be $9.95.- Houston Texans 2025 Season Thread

Oh noes, the internet is upset? That font of wisdom and wholesome goodness and fairness? How terrible. How will our university's reputation ever emerge from this scandal intact?!? Our interwebz reputation must be protected at all costs. Seriously, our fans are fucking imbeciles.- BOOM MOTHER FUCKER - Will Muschamp's Triumphant Return

He wasn't all-world, but he also just turned 18 in August. Pretty fucking good, especially with the dual threat. Not really sure we want him winding up in Lane's lap.- University of Utah nearing landmark private equity deal expected to generate $500 million
There's no question that the United States has the best academic institutions in the world. We've spent nearly a century building them up with state and federal funding. They're the envy of the world. It will take a long time for other institutions to catch up because the US elite institutions are so prestigious they still attract the best students. However, if we look at another metric, you really ought to be concerned. Consider Nature (another UK-based institution like Times of London) and its index of high quality research. Here are the top performing cities in the world as of 2024. Also note the change just from 2023 to 2024, in which every Chinese city rose, and every US city fell. Anyway, I'll stop here because we're getting wildly off topic. But the cold reality is that the quality of US research institutions is not trending in the right direction.- University of Utah nearing landmark private equity deal expected to generate $500 million
Yes, the US academic and scientific establishment absolutely dominated the world in research during the latter half of the 20th century and the early decades of the current one. For that we can thank Vannevar Bush and other visionaries who, after World War II, realized that the funding basic research, largely at universities, was essential to being an economic and military superpower in the modern era. No one is disputing that the United States dominated Nobel Prizes. But that is fading into the past. Nobel Prizes are often awarded for work done 5, 10, or even 20 years earlier. What people are concerned about is the future of academic research. Federal funding for this is being gutted on one end, and on the other universities are turning to private equity to run what is effectively a pro sports franchise. So yes, the US has done awesome in Nobel Prizes during the last century. But nothing lasts, friend. And the trends right now are pretty shitty.- Citrus Bowl 2025 Game Week Thread
I remember a marquee bowl game against Michigan 20 years ago. We had a hyped QB who had started to come into his own and roster filled with very talented sophomores and juniors. Texas ended up beating Michigan in a nail biter. Does anyone remember what happened next year when those kids grew up and came back?- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Must have strong Pedophilian ties.- Deion Sanders "Coach Prime" Now At Colorado
Neon Deion loses badly to close the season at Kansas State. Final record for this year, 3-9. So in his first year, a rebuild, the team went 4-8. Second year, his kid and Hunter as mature players, 9-4. After they leave, without any recruiting juice, 3-9. A medical retirement seems most likely after this season, but Colorado isn't going to fire him any time soon, so who knows? Five wins is probably their ceiling under Deion going forward.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Bianco is great at his job. He's worked at UT for three decades, with only a brief period of being out of the job because Steve Patterson fired him. As soon as Patterson was gone, Bianco was hired back. So congratulations on siding with Steve Patterson. I guess it makes sense because when I envision you, it is in a clown suit as well.- Deion Sanders "Coach Prime" Now At Colorado

That's not something "funny." That's a post from a little brother who is worried about getting his ass beat, and looking for a way to get out of the fight.- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
- This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
This thread is indeed a sad representation of Longhorn fandom, populated by the same collection of conspiracy theorists who somehow convinced themselves that Urban Meyer was going to coach here five years ago by looking at hotel room pictures and eating McRib sandwiches. While I agree there are a universe of possibilities this offseason—this is college football after all—the most likely scenario is that Sarkisian returns, hires an OC, makes one or two other coaching changes, and gets the resources needed to make a difference in the portal. Then, with a seasoned Arch Manning Texas makes a serious run at a national championship in 2026.- The Big 10 is pushing ahead with massive private investment deal over objections from Michigan and USC
Sounds like this isn't happening unless all 18 schools are on board.- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
