  1. Our boy Bill is losing to Clemson, yes CLEMSON, 28-3 at the end of the first quarter. At home. Does he make it to the end of the season?
  2. Jesus fuck I've never seen such bedwetting about the potential for some rain showers during a football game. Almost certainly it's going to be just fine.
  3. Quick update on the weather. The trend over the last 24 hours has been toward less storm coverage during Saturday afternoon. Thunderstorms (with game delaying lighting) are still entirely possible, but at this point I would only place the chance of rain during the game at about one-in-three. In any case it does not appear to be wall-to-wall storms so the game is gonna get played. Winds may be more impactful. I think we're looking at sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts, perhaps occasionally reaching 25 or 30 mph. That is definitely noticeable, but the Swamp is built below ground level, and the stands are built up all around the field. I'm not an engineer, but this suggests to me the winds may be less of an issue on the field than outside the stadium. In summary, we walk out of the field like this:
  4. Damn, the UCLA athletic director has a $7.1 million buyout? Y'all are screwed.
  5. Yeah, me. I’m a meteorologist.
  6. Just did a bit of a deep dive into the forecast for Saturday afternoon in Gainesville. Thunderstorms are definitely a concern, but they should be somewhat scattered and moving through. So while there's a chance for a lightning delay, I doubt it would last hours. And although it may rain some during the game, it is very unlikely to be raining for a majority of the game. Things may start to clear out some toward evening. Regarding winds, the overall setup between two pressure systems favors strong winds. But some of the latest high resolution models are indicating more modest winds of 10-15 mph. So who knows. In summary, fuck ou.
  7. What a fucking child. You can tell he was raised very, very wrong when he handles adversity like this. Sorry, not sorry kid, but we all have a serious case of schadenfreude.
  8. For those unfamiliar with this sordid little episode here goes ... After the Space Shuttle was retired in 2011 Texas A&M bid for, and received the right to restore the shuttle simulator (a full cockpit and motion simulator) that had been used to train crews for more than three decades. A&M acquired the simulator and housed it in a decently sized building near campus. Then the university lost the lease to that building and the simulator was packed away into a much smaller space, where it gathered dust. There it remained for a decade. One of the final things George Abbey (a legendary operator at Johnson Space Center in Houston) did before he died was claw back the simulator and work with volunteers to refurbish the historical artifact and put it on public display at the Lone Star Flight Museum, in southeast Houston. He marshalled the funding and an army of volunteers to do what aggies do not: lie, cheat, steal, or preserve history.
  9. The only thing similar to Mack and Sark is that Duane Akina is coaching in the secondary.
  10. Mateer is a redshirt junior. He obviously has played well in college, but does not have prototypical NFL QB size and now has been injured. I wonder if he comes back for his senior season.
  11. Hawkins is the backup.
  12. What a dumb fucking turn this thread has taken at a time when it should be glorious. Let's get back on the track of enjoying Dabo's misery. Here the man himself after the Syracuse loss:
  13. Sadly ...
  14. Good interview with the kid after the game. Said he was going to go home, rest, and wait for the film to drop. Threw up the horns, unsolicited, at the end of the interview!
  15. Crazy stat that underscores the decades long decline of this program:
  16. This is a man. He's over 40. He's a man. He's about to be fired.

    Haha he aggie'd it up.
  18. Butker? I hardly know her.
  19. So it seems pretty clear Sanders’ success came as a result of Hunter and his son, rather than some out-of-the-box coaching genius. Their most probable record at this point is 4-8.
  20. Amazing preview as always! Look forward to these every week.
  21. That article does good work on the WHO, WHAT, and WHERE questions of journalism. But it is sorely lacking in the WHY.
