  1. I'm not sure whether I prefer chest-puffed out aggy or deflated aggy. But this year, with baseball season, we've had both in less than a month! What a ride for them.
  2. The plan is quite clear to those paying attention to happenings in Houston, and the buffet table on the Brazos. The Texans are clearing roster space and acquiring draft capital for a singular and brilliant purpose: Acquiring Chase Bisontis in the 2026 NFL draft.
  3. Hurry up, taxpayers better spend $1.5 billion on a new stadium then!
  4. It's because A&M is a national school, stupid sip.
  5. Here's the full story from the Chronicle. Nothing will set my (slightly rekindled) interest in the Texans on fire like McNair coming hat in hand to taxpayers for a new stadium. Fuck off with that.
  6. I deserve all the downvotes.
  7. This is such a perfect reply to an unhinged, insulting comment. Bravo.
  8. I'm so freaking excited -- my daughter got accepted this evening. Her academics aren't the best, but she's an insanely talented singer. She'll be attending the Butler School of Music.
  9. 51, and fuck off everyone.
  10. As if we needed more reasons to hate Jerry Jones.
  11. He's got a tremendous motor. Amazing energy when they let him off the leash. He's always chasing after the ball with reckless abandon. He plays well in traffic. In fact, he may have a little too much energy because he wears down in the second half. If you look closely at the Hudl film, you can see the coaches urging him to take a drink of water and telling him, "Sit Utu, sit."
  12. It's perfectly legitimate for a reporter, at a press event, to ask a pertinent question about a player's health. It's totally fine if Bond and the rest of the players were coached to offer a non-committal reply, but the reporter was just doing their job while covering a promotional news event. Also Barron was badass this year and will definitely be missed. Kudos to the NIL team for retaining him, and the coaches for coaching him up.
  13. Helmet shitter would like a word.
  14. Amusing that we finished ahead of Georgia but lost to them twice.
  15. I don't think I ever read anything insightful during the (very distant) time I was a subscriber to 247.
  16. Speaking Elon Musk and NIL ... I know him pretty well. Generally, I like him. With that said, I want him nowhere near UT sports. Elon is not interested in sports. They are a waste of time in his view. Pabulum for the masses. And he would not be doing this for the love of the game or the university. But rather, it would be transactional. So what would UT have to give up? It wouldn't be pretty.
  17. I did not get that woman pregnon.
  18. Thursday morning update The good news is that the threat of a significant ice storm is receding. It now appears as though this will be primarily a snow and sleet event in the vicinity of the metroplex in general, and Jerry World in specific. We are looking at 3 to 6 inches of snow, with some additional sleet thrown into the mix for the Dallas area. How much of this sticks will depend on temperatures, which will be in the 30 to 34 degree range overnight Thursday in Friday morning. (If things were going to be 5 degrees colder, this would be snow-mageddon). The potential for roadway issues is still pretty high on Friday morning, but I do expect things to start melting by late morning or early afternoon at the latest. The bottom line is that the later you can drive in, the better. The problem is if everyone else has this same idea.
  19. Even if you clear the roads immediately around the stadium, the DFW area is very large with an immense amount of freeways. People will be coming from all over. Southern cities just do not have the winterization capacity to deal with the entire area ahead of a storm.
  20. You have more faith in north Texas road crews than I do. There is the potential for a big mess. Because temperatures are going to be cutting it very close to freezing -- i.e. 30 degrees vs 33 degrees matters a lot, and we just can't say with precision where the freeze line will occur -- it could go either way. But I think people should be prepared for a pretty bad situation.
