  1. The checks are intended as a stopgap to keep co summers able to spend. Some may need to buy groceries or pay the rent. I am looking at backyard projects...I just don’t have time(too busy at work). From a macro perspective it doesn’t really matter what you spend it on...it should help maintain the economy. Saving the stimulus check...is potentially very good on the micro level for boosting an individual’s safety net...but doesn’t achieve the intended goal of keeping the economy functioning.
  2. I want to have someone build me pergola for my back patio. and a grape arbor for my side yard.
  3. I keep poking at him...trying to convey the urgency...but I can’t force him to do anything. We are at the same reporting level but I have a different portfolio of responsibilities. I have been focused on keeping the train rolling the last 3 weeks. I had the joy of getting IT to build a virtual call center in 3 days over 1 weekend right after Trump’s evening speech. Our head of the call center had the joy of retraining his entire staff of agents to work remote on a new call center software platform in less than 1 day.
  4. We do almost all our banking with Chase. Our VP of Finance seems to like them. I have been pestering him all week based on updates I see in this thread. Feedback today from him was...yeah maybe chase could help us next week. Neither Chase nor he seem to be in any hurry and it’s pissing me off as I continue to read updates from Troph.
  5. ^^ Makes me wonder if Boeing is going to need a government bailout to avoid bankruptcy.
  6. Oh come on Travis County. You can do this right.
  7. No need to wait. WTI Trading $28 handle now. Fuck....
  8. Crude weakening further. Maybe it was go to sub $30 before Monday morning.
  9. Mulvaney dismissed as special envoy to Northern Ireland seems like quite the demotion/dismissal.
  10. Great. Biden has won the South per CNN. A bunch of states that democrats have no realistic chance of winning come November. Who is going to win democratic primary for Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin? Not to be an asshole...but the south isn’t where the Democrats are going to compete against Trump.
  11. Today, I got a letter from Five Stone about 2020 protest. No mention of any change in fee structure.
  12. Had to do an outdoor irrigation project to replace a broken irrigation pipe. 5 hours outside equals an allergy shitfest. Work needed to be done but I am now hiding inside.
  13. Curious to see what the numbers are come 2024. It’s not like Trump is going to disappear from the media if he loses in 2020. And he won’t disappear if wins either....
  14. ^^ Any reasonable probability the Dems net pickup additional seats in the House? Aka expand their majority?
  15. Lost in the wasteland we are.
  16. Popular vote does not matter. Focus on if the electoral college installs a new president. Trump will never resign.
  17. Trump will never resign. Senate will not remove him office. Yet to be determined if citizens of US will remove him via election process.
  18. I am coming around to the idea that those who worked in this WH claiming they were moderating Trump for the past 3 years have done the greatest harm to the US. Mattis,Tillerson, and others should have refused the job outright or resigned much sooner. Keeping this administration in the realm of partially dysfunctional merely extended the Trump timeline. Leaving Trump to only the boot lickers like Mulvaney and the corruption of Rudy earlier, likely would have hastened Trump’s downfall. If Trump completely came off the rails 12+ months ago...damage would have been done then. But at least the country could have had a fair assessment of Trump and potentially forced the GOP to abandon Trump. As of now...I am still not convinced the GOP will abandon Trump...but we are starting to see the smallest of cracks in their support.
  19. I can’t see a universal fracking ban ever coming to fruition...but it doesn’t take 100 pages of research to know that would be an economic recession in the making.
