  1. This happening at A&M isn’t good for anyone in the state of Texas. It’s yet another demonstration that right wing nut jobs are in control of the state. And that means the State is no longer a welcoming place for LBGTQ, foreigners, minorities, and others who helped make Texas a great place. The talent is leaving. The talent is deciding to not come here. Brain talent, trade talent, and eventually it will include sports talent. The success of the United States was built on the backs of people of all types. When you shut them out you shut out success. Did any of you right wing nut jobs realize that a gay ex-Prussian officer was responsible for training the American revolutionary army to beat the British. He was one of the most important figures in the history of the United States in terms of making the American military competent.
  2. Those of you saying that booing doesn’t help weren’t at the sporting event where we as fans made a huge difference. The first part of the game they were playing terrible, so we booed them mercilessly. And you know what, in the second part of the game they really came around and played much better. In fact even my 3 year old was able to hit it off the tee.
  3. What about the bribes UAE paid in crypto to Trump for access to AI chips? I assume there is nothing that can be done legally about it, and I guess the public doesn’t care?
  4. Ignore the Texas hammer. He’s one of the dumbest people on the planet and you can’t educate the stupid. You have to get other people on the right side of this issue and then the morons like hammer will follow because they can’t think for themselves. They’ve been brainwashed by disinformation. Forget him. He’s worthless.
  5. I’m inspired by Clara Luper who almost single handedly improved Oklahoma City civil rights, while doing it peacefully. If you can get a bunch of dumb ass racist Okies to change, then it ought to work elsewhere.
  6. The Arab Spring a long time ago was Facebook driven as well. It’s the disinformation that’s ruined social media.
  7. As someone who was you a few years ago, you are wrong. Go look very very closely at what you are doing and you’ll will find you can access it. I can’t remember the exact thing I was doing wrong. It was confusing for sure.
  8. Most of my friends are at best deeply concerned, and at most despondent, about the current state of the country. Most are not Democrats or Republicans, just people that want an America that lives up to its values, or at least tries. To date, many have tried to block out the noise of politics while doing the little things they can here and there to try and help get the Country back on track: voting, attending rallies, etc. But it just isn’t working and the morale of people is getting really bad. It seems like we are reaching the point where something significant has to be done by the silent public, to not only effect real change and accountability, but also to help pull people out of their deep mental hole. What is the right action path forward? Anything that is based on just getting behind Democrats will fail in my opinion. They’ve proven to be so ineffective, they kill any momentum. They also have certain viewpoints that will never be supported by enough people to get control of the government. The actions need to be party independent, well thought out, permanent, continuous, and impactful. I’ve thought of a lot of different ideas, such as the creation of organizations that combat all of the disinformation, but frankly the situation is so serious and so big, all of us feel helpless. Is there something that can be done? We don’t want to live like this for the next 20 years, nor do our families. Right now the solution for several of my friends is to live in Europe. They are headed out. For many reasons I hate that. I’m not the type of person to run away from a fight.
  9. Subscribing to YTTV still puts money in ABC’s pocket, but I guess it’s better than subscribing to the Disney, Hulu package. I’m rolling off Uverse this week and was planning to get the Hulu Live ESPN package. I will switch to YTTV as at least a tiny protest.
  10. I continue to realize I over-estimated the intelligence of about 70% of the people in this country. His x post is incredibly stupid. It’s obvious the corporations are trying to steer clear of government abuse.
  11. Just upgraded iOS and see the same reaction borks mentioned above.
  12. Pass through costs are just starting. Here is just one example: coffee. https://dailycoffeenews.com/2025/09/15/u-s-coffee-prices-soar-at-the-supermarket/ why has it taken awhile? Mainly, Trump has been starting and stopping tariffs for months. Then, companies tried to do a temporary coverage of the tariffs hoping they would stop. Finally, it takes awhile to burn thru inventory. Declaring victory over tariff inflation is very premature. However, declining demand from a worsening economy can also mute inflation. Not the right way, but a way
  13. I can’t watch the game this weekend, so it would be good if someone else could watch for something. I stated in the SJST game thread, and repeated here afterwards, that in pre-game warmups he was winding up and releasing his throws faster than I’ve ever seen a QB do that, to the point where it seemed like a drill. It was Uncle Rico like. It would be great if some early arrivers to the game could watch him in warmups to see if he does that again.
  14. That’s ridiculous. Sark is taking over as coach of the cowboys in two years and wants to make sure Arch is available at pick number 4, so he’s purposely destroying his mechanics for this year and next year.
  15. This is an under-rated post that deserves more accolades.
  16. A few thoughts about the current state of affairs: 1. Milwee is the most hated person on Surly right now. But Arch has his own QB coach, David Morris. It would be interesting to hear about the dynamic between Morris and the coaching staff on the current Arch situation. Like any conflict, I'm sure both sides are blaming each other. But at the end of the day, I'm not sure how much Milwee is influencing Arch's mechanics, feet, alignment, etc. In the attached article there is a refence to arm angles being captured by drones. Have they loaded Arch's brain with so many concepts his head has exploded? If you are taking drone footage of arm angles, I would say "Yes". As an erratic golfer, I can attest to the damage that can be done by juggling too much information on mechanics. https://www.redbull.com/us-en/arch-mannings-offseason-training#:~:text=with David Morris-,© Justen Williams,Arch and the Texas Longhorns. 2. I am less worried about Guilbeau than others. He plays a tough position and always has to chase guys around. He's going to get beat. Hopefully not a lot. He's talented. 3. I've been unhappy with Sark's offense from a total continuity level since the day he stepped on campus. He mixes in occasional brilliant play calling with a stubborness and lack of creativity that bogs down the offense. However, I do believe he purposely went plain vanilla running attack Saturday because he wants his team to run the ball more effectively and wanted them to practice it. So maybe the offense will look better in 2 weeks. This week will be all about giving Arch enough dynamic plays to get everyone off his back. Then they will run some more.
  17. I must not be an nfl quarterback because I have the yips. I don’t bench press.
  18. In amongst this Wild Speculation Thread was this important post above. I never would have guessed that Arch is under more pressure than any other SEC QB. Just anecdotally, it seemed like he’s had plenty of time to throw quite a bit. We all know the OL is shaky, but this stat shows it’s way more shaky than I realized. Arch has missed guys badly with plenty of time to throw, but maybe the poor OL play is making him look worse than he is.
  19. Earlier this year I developed the yips in putting. I think I posted about it at the time in the golf thread. It was terrifying. I had no muscle control over the putter at times. One round I five putted three greens. He doesn’t have the yips. He’d look even worse than he does.
  20. I had a decent arm growing up. And my accuracy wasn’t too bad either. As soon as I played a live game I was often drilling the ball into the ground. Little did I know at that time I had an arm like Arch Manning.
  21. If you want to feel a little better, part of the reason Texas ran the ball so much yesterday was not just Arch issues, but also because they know the running offense is struggling. So now you can feel slightly better about Arch and much worse about the state of the running game.
  22. I disagree 100%. What if Sark outfitted the WR group with little people? And instead of having them run routes, just told them to go lay down on the turf somewhere. Manning’s pass completion percentage would soar.
  23. Watching the speed, execution, innovativeness, scheme, and effort by Georgia, Tennessee, A&M, and Notre Dame today makes me wonder what the fuck Sark has been doing for the last several games.
  24. At least today they found an RB.
