To get the number one girl, look for 3. You are supposed to subtract 2 from it. For number 2, look for number 1. You are supposed to add 1 to number 1. For number three, look for number 4. You are supposed to subtract 1 from it. For number 4, look for number 2. You are supposed to add 2 to it. For number 5, just look for number 5.
This system is way more sensible than the JT approach.
We all are going to have to think differently about this situation because the future is going to get way way worse.
The US has multiple market dominant companies, and consolidation is continuing, especially in the media space. Tome Warner will soon get scooped up. The end game here in 24-36 months is market control so deep that consumers are raped of every possible dollar they have. ESPN and Fox have a duopoly over college football and we will all be paying out the ass for their content.
We’ve already been modifying our behaviors to slowly wean ourselves off sports. I can afford $100-400 per month for TV, but I just don’t want to pay that. Eff it. We are done on the NFL. College football remains as the one sport we are still struggling to care less about, but we are preparing.
Don’t worry everyone. A new Fed Chairman is coming, along with a new round of QE, so that mortgage rates will drop and a whole new asset bubble on top of the previous asset bubble will emerge. Bubble Squared! To really cement wealth concentration even more. Yay?
My guess is that Arch hasn’t been ruled out because Sark wants to make it more difficult for Vandy to prep.
The reality is that playing a week after concussion is tricky. Aikman talked about doing it once and he said he was in a fog that whole game and was terrible. Even if he plays, he might be too foggy to be effective. The last thing he needs is another shaky game.
This is what I was mentioning earlier. While we’ve all been frustrated by the visible miss of open receivers, there are things he’s doing behind a dog shit offensive line that are incredible.
I think a lot of folks on this board are underestimating the challenge the Texas offense will have without Arch under center.
We’ve all been pretty harsh on Arch, a lot of it deserved. However the play calling and schemes have not done a good job of recognizing the OL and WR issues and putting Arch in a better position to succeed.
As Sark tries to adjust to a more short passing game, he’s going to try and grind out a win with the run and short passes. The Vanderbilt defense will know this and will stuff the line of scrimmage. With our OL issues, it could get very rough to score points.
Conversely, not having Taaffe making defensive calls and recognizing the plays pre snap will make the defense more vulnerable.
Every one of us should be tickled with an overtime 13-10 win, with the vaunted Vanderbilt QB fumbling away the game at the 5 yard line.
I needed this thread. I’ve been in a deeper funk than Texas for the last two weeks.
And as for the above poster’s thought of beating A&M 3 times this year, that would almost be better than a title just because it would talked about for eternity .
Watched the full game again this morning. A few observations:
It was ironic seeing ex-Texas players make so many big plays against Texas.
Arch had some really good, some bad. The OL not giving him time was a bigger issue than Arch in this game. Also, receivers dropped a lot of passes.
Key penalties saved their ass.
They never quit. That’s pretty cool.
The entire game never felt good. That is such a drag.
With Sark very likely leaving, it’s a huge bummer to start over, because they will likely take some significant step backwards.
Just to add to the frustration over Sark, he took two of the best QB prospects in years and under-developed them.
Meanwhile, the hefty one and his new OC down the road took Marcel Reed, who was a disaster last year, and just turned him into the Heisman front runner.
So I haven’t been following 2027 recruiting at all. There’s a rumor Sark isn’t doing much and Texas is in real trouble for the 2027 class. There was also a rumor of PK getting out too, although he obviously doesn’t do as much recruiting. Anyone getting a sense things are going sideways?
I’m not making the case and I’m not speculating. I’m just passing along that I know for a fact there is an aspect of the job that he doesn’t like that I guess he believes isn’t an issue at the next level. Is that causing a move? I have no idea. People always bitch about their jobs.
update: there’s obviously a lot more going on behind the scenes. I’m not saying anything else. This is just going to have to play out .
