Fat People
FYI, I’m down to my college weight. I’m pretty sure it’s from being very active every day, moving around a lot. I don’t run anymore. I just walk a lot. And of course I try to never overeat. I have to stop eating for 15 minutes to realize I’m full.

Holiday Travel F-d? FAA Turkey Day Boogaloo!
Look, I have the solution. Cancel your thanksgiving travel. It was going to be a pain in the ass anyway, seeing a bunch of people you don’t like, eating food that sucks (turkey), and watching the cowboys lose. Go bowling instead.

Great Western Movies
Great list. Well done. I don’t know what your thoughts are on Once Upon a Time in the West. The first time I watched it is was okay/good. But when I watched it again I fell in love with it and am now obsessed with it. As a result it would be #1 in the 60’s. Also, Tombstone only got one mention and that movie is awesome. I stop down on it every time.

Texas Basketball 2025-26: It’s Miller Time
Here’s some good news that should jazz everyone a bit. Ogden did an interview where he said Miller is the best basketball teacher he’s ever seen or worked with. By far. Said he’s incredible. Ogden coached under Barnes and Beard among others. That’s quite an endorsement.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
What’s the story here? Next year’s roster would have Manning, Bell, Lacey already.

Great Western Movies
I have to get something off my chest that’s annoyed me for years. I love the remake of 3:10 to Yuma, except……..the scene where Russel Crowe is helping Christian Bale starts looking really fake, with very unrealistic ducking, dodging, and diving. It ruins the authenticity of the film. I wish they would have done a better job with that scene.

Brace for a tumultuous off-season, IMO.

ESPN and The Mouse vs. YouTube TV
I left Uverse two months ago. Was paying $310 for one tv including internet. Insane. It had risen from $220 in six months. They obviously are raising prices to maximize profits before pulling the plug on the service so. Im currently login whoring yttv and Disney until I figure out what to do.

Has anyone heard of apollogroup.tv? Someone recommended it, but I don’t want to lose a kidney somehow.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
I just realized when I voted today that even though I’m in Travis county I’m not subject to the property tax increase for the homeless problem. So I want to encourage you all to approve it so I don’t have to see any homeless people and don’t have to pay for it either. That’s a win win, for me and the homeless anyway.

freshman edge Colin Simmons off to a great start
I love Simmons. He’s one of the most impactful DE’s in Texas history. DE’s that really stood out for me while watching games through the years were Brackens, Dronett, and Orakpo, among others. Simmons is right up there with them. I do think his pro prospects might have some question marks however. His size may make him a bit of a tweener. .

Dallas Cowboys MNF Thread
2 dropped passes, a holding penalty, and now a fumble. I’m not kidding in saying I’d cut Ferguson at half time.

FCC will vote to scrap telecom cybersecurity requirements
I’m sure Palantir will somehow benefit, thus giving even more money to Trump’s backers.

Letterkenny
I worked for a Canadian firm for 7 years, lived in Toronto, spent years in Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver. A big chunk of the management team I hired were Canadians. So nope. That's not it. That was actually one of the biggest issues. I'm hearing impaired so I have to use captions and by half way through the episode I was exhausted.

Tom Petty kicks all kinds of ass
I read Perry’s book a few months ago. Fascinating read and it apparently correlates well with Campbell’s book, which I haven’t read yet. I was already a big Petty fan but that book took my appreciation for him to the next level

Letterkenny
Started watching it at the suggestion of my BIL. I’m 20 minutes in to episode one and I just don’t get it at all. And I feel terrible because I see all the great reactions here and the high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Why aren’t I getting it?

Cord Cutters Thread
So I reconfigured our setup as a result of my LG TV not performing well with streaming apps. I now use Roku for all streaming apps I’ve also connected an OTA antenna that ties into my house cable runs. Pretty good. Now I need to add a dvr for the OTA.

Site improvements
I know there’s been a lot of discussion about how to grow the site users, and also bring in more youth. I just want to reiterate again that if a person doesn’t have an account and isn’t logged into the site, the site is basically aids. All of the popup ads make it completely unusable. I just wonder how many new users, and especially young users, take one look at the ad infested site and just keep on going. Is there any way to make the ads less annoying? They are a beat down.
