Can’t believe some posters think Ewers didn’t have a good game. It was an A- performance. He didn’t make many mistakes. And just a reminder, every QB makes mistakes in a game. Most importantly, no interceptions that were his fault or fumbles.
As has been discussed before, he starts over Manning because he can read defenses better, and yesterday that led to several touchdowns. For Christ’s sake, Texas put 38 points on the board.
People still bagging on Ewers for yesterday are idiots. He may play more up and down games in the future,but yesterday he was very solid.
Finally, it’s important to realize that Sark has been purposely not going downfield as much as at other times. That might be a bit because of Ewers, but it has also been because the OL hasn’t pass protected well enough in some games and hasn’t executed the running game well enough. When that happens no qb is going to look great.
Ewers has deserved some criticism this year, but when he plays well he should also get some accolades.
