#1 Texas vs. #3 Ohio State - 11am on Fox
Focus on this point for a minute. How many times have we seen mediocre teams play Texas over the last several years where they methodically throw short passes and work their way down the field against our defense: short curls, slants, screens, outs, etc. Those teams donāt have 4-5 star receivers. They have a scheme to sit in the open areas of zone coverage, or run specific routes that are geared towards beating man, like the slant. The lack of effective scheme and game planning is why the offense was bad, and then with Arch throwing poorly and receivers not getting separation on the wrong routes, the offense was putrid.

The people placing most of the blame for this game on just Arch and mistakes/penalties donāt really know what they are talking about. Arch was bad. But every game is going to have mistakes and this one was no different. What was deeply concerning can be summed up by the constant fourth down and red zone failures by Sarkās offense, along with play calling and scheming at times that was really really poor. He doesnāt know how to scheme against strong defenses. He just doesnāt. Look at Georgia, OSU, etc. Every time he plays a strong defense we see the same sort of dysfunction. I donāt think I can watch any more failed 4th down runs into a stacked defensive line. Itās ridiculous. CHANGE THINGS UP SOMETIMES. Whatās really weird is that heās usually good for a few gadget plays a game where you are in awe. But what Iām talking about is fundamentally different running game tactics and receiver routes.

Arch didnāt look good. But Sark really had a poor game plan and scheme and in game play calling. He even was requiring Arch to make some tough throws. Compare that to Quinn last year where Quinn had a bunch of easy throws. This loss is 80% on Sark the OC and 20% on Arch and the team.

#1 Texas vs. #3 Ohio State - 11am on Fox
I guess the second half could be just as futile as the first offensively, but something doesnāt seem right. The offensive scheme, the play calling, the QB play, looks remarkably weak. Is it really that bad, or for the first time is Sark trying to save some things for the second half? I doubt it, but I guess weāll find out shortly.

ChatGPT AI Toolā We all work for robots now
I completely believe this. For years I had to figure out my own complex Excel formulas to do various things. It required a lot of focus and brainpower. Now I just ask ChatGPT and spend a few minutes debugging its wrong answers. Way faster and easier.

Holy shit they just showed Arch throwing in pre-game and Iāve never seen a quicker release in my life.

What is your biggest business regret?
During the internet bubble I turned down a job in the Northeast for an executive job with tech startup that included 2% stock options where the current company value was hardly anything. The options vested immediately on change of control. They were bought in 3 months for $4.5B. My payout would have been just under $100M.

Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
I canāt reconcile his reputation as a good defensive coordinator, with that dumb look and sound. How can someone who sounds and looks like a complete doofus be a good defensive coach? Iām terribly vexed.

Is it as easy to setup and use as it sounds? What app? Just an Apple TV the latest?

So, I've spent the last few days researching and trying out all of the different streaming options to replace my current U-Verse service (headed to $225/month). It's a great service, but it's anywhere from $80-120 more per month tham other streaming options. Functionality-wise, the U-Verse offering provides the most content, especially key state of Texas sports content (Spurs, Mavs, Rangers, Astros), but it's just gotten too expensive. It also has movie channels and some other desirable stuff. I reviewed Hulu + Live, Fubo, DirecTv, Spectrum (a bit), Sling, and cobbling together OTA with ESPN Unlimited, Fox One and HBOMax. The results were disappointing. 1. Fubo - the Elite sports service wasn't bad. The UI is decent, but they flat out lied during the sign-up process of the cost. It's actually $128/month, not $113/month, after the free trial and first month $30 discount. They don't have a lot of non-sports content, but the sports content was excellent. I was just so pissed off about the blatant lying about the price, I cancelled during the trial phase. 2. DirecTv - jesus these people are idiots. There are two different streaming options, the website is a mess, you can't figure out which streaming offer is which, you can't get the final price of what it actually costs. I roughly estimated it at $135, but who knows. For one of the streaming options, there are contracts and they treat you like shit, just like a traditional cable company. Screw that. 3. YouTube TV - pretty nice experience. The UI has a few limitations, but is manageable. However, I have to say goodbye to Astros coverage. This is probably where we are headed. $82/month. For Spurs and Rangers I'd have to add other streaming services (Fanduel, Victory+). 4. Spectrum - people in my neighborhood are constantly complaining about outages. I didn't look at them closely. I want to keep AT&T internet because I have free HBO right now. 5. Sling - too limited. Can't get much of anything we want. 6. OTA, ESPN Unlimited, Fox One, HBO Max - this has some potential, but I'm not ready for the UI hell this would cause, the wiring issues for OTA, and the lack of certain commercial channels. So, to summarize, the option is to either pay $225 and get Astros, Rangers, Mavs, Spurs, and Movies, or switch to YTTV and lose all that but only pay $82+tax. If I didn't go with YTTV, I might go back to Fubo.

Dallas Cowboys 2025 season thread: 8-9 and divine. The world according to Jerry
Fellas. You know better. The Pickens trade didnāt cost much and it wasnāt about winning. Itās about what Jerry wants, which is glitz and glam, as he told us all in the documentary. As for Dak and Cee Dee, thatās just a whole bunch more of glitz and glam, which costs a bunch more money. Jerry Jonesā sole criteria for success is billions in his pockets, not fielding a competitive football team.

Dallas Cowboys 2025 season thread: 8-9 and divine. The world according to Jerry
Look, what he got for Micah was insufficient. Another Dallas GM got fleeced. Butā¦I have always had questions about Micah. He fades during the season often. Heās weird. Heās a tweener. And yes at times Micah made an incredible impact. For that type of money, I want someone whoās more consistent. And, the Cowboys are a mess overall. Itās not like they are headed to the playoffs. This is a very average team. This franchise is going nowhere.

2025 game Week 1, #1 Texas @ #3 Ohio State - What the Fuck is a Buckeye?
In my earlier post I didnāt mean to imply OSU wasnāt an elite program prior to Meyer. I was responding to a specific post about OSU the last several years. Iām well aware of OSUās long term success. As Iāve mentioned on other threads, I was born in Columbus in OSU University hospital, my dad was on the OSU faculty, and his handball playing partner for several years was Woody Hayes. At an early age I was a massive OSU fan. Fortunately, I made it to Texas at a young age and successfully was re-programmed to root for the greatest college athletic programs in the country. An unfortunate byproduct of this was the development of a deep dislike for my former favorite team. I kept waiting for the OSU program to finally drop down to a lower level of success. I really thought post Meyer would be it.

2025 game Week 1, #1 Texas @ #3 Ohio State - What the Fuck is a Buckeye?
OSU has remained good for a long time due to a lot of fortunate events. They got Meyer who is not only an excellent coach, heās a top tier cheater. That laid the foundation. Day has been riding that for a long time, combined with the weak schedules over the years that are top heavy. Michigan was down for a long time. Penn St was down and coached now by a guy who canāt beat a good coach. Theyāve recruited well under NIL because they have strong financial support. The biggest surprise for me is that I thought Day was an above average coach, and yet heās been able to pull out some big wins. Not sure how. Something just doesnāt add up.

Let's figure out the cheapest option to watch the most games possible 2025
I also just pulled out two OTA antennas, both with pre-amps, and thrushes around the house with the antennas, and a Samsung tv, to see if I could get good enough reception anywhere in the house or walk in attics that I could use to feed the HDHR. What would I lose with no encryption for 4k OTA? Edit: I assume without jelkyfin I canāt get dvr functionality? I experimented with plex a few years ago and found no value for our needs with a lot of technical confusion. I donāt want to go down that path if I can avoid it.

I really think this post needs to be split into even more paragraphs, especially with no capital letters at the beginning of each.
