  1. Can’t Gillbeau play corner? He’s been thru a lot, almost portaling, injuries, etc. but when healthy he flashed at times.
  2. While I just torched Joseph in a post just above, I forgot to add that Brooks was not good either. I already expected him to lose his starting role. I’m not worried about this loss other than for depth. But since he’s unhappy that would be bad depth.
  3. In my opinion the defensive backfield has underperformed for years now. Years ago you could argue it was due in part to weak DL’s and LB’s but not lately. There has been more than enough good talent to come thru the door to see better play and development than we’ve seen. Joseph has been good enough to be able to get Muhammad and Black in the door, but he’s not showing he’s good enough to coach good players to success. You can see it with poor technique over and over. When the portal closes it would be the perfect time to bring in Joseph’s replacement.
  4. I'm trying to understand Elk's strategy. He seems to be trying to change the culture of the program by either pushing out certain players or having them decide on their own they don't want to be there. But the guys they are replacing them with are very pedestrian. I think that strategy might backfire. Normally, a coach either: a) brings in quality talent right away that he can get from the portal, or b) does the best they can to recruit quality high school talent and bleed out the bad talent over a one to two year period. Either of these types of approaches ensure the coach can still win 6-9 games in the first year. With the current Elk approach, it could mean 6 or less wins, AND also the need to upgrade the roster over 1-2 years. But the problem with that is once you've only won <6 games, things can spiral quickly. No top talent is going to join a <6 win team. MAybe he thinks we can win with just pedestrian talent. He did it at Duke, but that was in a very different league.
  5. Man 10-3 is terrible. They have to change it asap or it’s going to bleed into losses during prime radio hours. I listened to 1-3 a lot to try and see if I could learn to like it but they are terrible. I and a drinking buddy could produce better radio than those guys.
  6. Hahahahahahajahah. Everyone gets it https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLaHgYVy/
  7. I’m not sure Mukuba played, and I didn’t watch him at Clemson, but I did see a smallish #13 whiff on an easy tackle.
  8. Matt Rhule’s pitch on why Nebraska and why they’ve had no portal entries https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLaRGSe8/
  9. I have no idea if Lacey sticks, but any QB commit likes the idea of spending a year or two under Sark because it helps their draft stock.
  10. Cancel the rest of the scrimmage right now
  11. Hahaha Gbenda loves the camera.
  12. I can see it now. SEC lineman blasting into the backfield then gently laying Ewers on the ground, brushing away pebbles and trash first, maybe placing a quilt.
  13. Warning - typical over analysis of the spring game based on about 3 plays, and play from last year too. We are now well into the Ewers era. As I compare him in the pocket to Owens and Manning, he just doesn’t seem quite as “natural”, whatever that really means. As an example, Murphy always looked very robotic and unsure in the pocket. It was obvious. Ewers obviously looked wayyyy better than that, and of course led the team to the big 12 title. But he just doesn’t look quite as comfortable as other top QB’s. I can’t verbalize what exactly the issue is. He has a strong arm, but does he lack some athleticism that holds him back? Is he mentally still not there? Something doesn’t feel right. Maybe he’s just maxed out his talent and mental acuity. Maybe it’s nothing and he will be spectacular next year. There were some spectacular plays during the year. Maybe we see a lot more this year to put the question to bed once and for all.
  14. What the hell is Taeffe doing latching onto Baxter’s leg out of bounds. edit: next play he tries the slap the ball out of Manning’s hand and Manning pump fakes it into his face.
  15. Conspiracy theory - Sark’s decision to give Manning the majority of snaps is part of his master plan to eventually slide Manning into the QB1 slot.
  16. Thatch with the Catch.
  17. That handoff was incredible! Move him to starting QB
  18. Cancel all the DT visits. We’re good.
  19. LHN crew is correct in saying the 2024 team has more depth than 2023, but has to show it can replace some extremely good top end talent that went pro.
  20. The Posse East holds legendary status as the place from which Dbeasy got so drunk he could not go pick up his first date with a girl he liked, so he convinced three other drunk friends and one designated driver to go with him to pick her up. Wonderful first impression. That girl? My wife of 35 years. #PERocks.
  21. Happened to be flipping this morning and ran across one of the best “no way” ever. Tommy, Nicolas Cage’s nemesis in Valley Girl: Is the same actor as Jack Welker in Breaking Bad:
  22. Ah that’s it. I have a routine on Friday and I could be just catching them at the same time every time.
  23. I only occasionally tune in from 10-1. Why does it seem like they are constantly talking about craft beers. Yawn.
  24. For Austin homeowners, pay close attention to your overall property value increase or decrease in 2023. I certainly haven’t run comps across the entire city, but most property values should have declined not appreciated in 2023, unless there were special circumstances. Austin/Travis County put in extra effort in 2022 to get property values around town much better aligned to true values. They were a bit all over the place in years past. If they did that with your property, then values in 2023 should have declined. Note that your taxable value could still be going up, but limited by the 10% cap. I’m talking about overall property value, not taxable value. I see a ton of posts with double digit increases in property value, and there really shouldn’t be all that many.
