  1. Isn’t that a laser time? Because a laser 4.59 is really fucking good, esp at 6’2” at this age/stage. that was likely a 4.3 on a lot of stopwatches
  2. That whole conversation above is more interesting when you watch the video interview. confirmation bias in effect. It feels like Hamm Lite has run with the info he got from Banks right after his decommitment and can't give any weight to new or different info.
  3. If you don't give a shit about lineman doing a cone drill, you are in the wrong fucking thread on the wrong fucking board. I'm being completely serious. Generic high-level summary shit is more that IT/247 type thing and that's cool but this thread has always and will always contain the "lineman doing a cone drill" type shit.
  4. High four star guys should dominate. He was adequate. Honestly there’s rarely ever projects this raw that are high 4* guys, but rarely do JRs have ++ NFL arms. Milroe is a raw project and he was miles ahead of where Murphy is at the same stage. He performed like a guy who has barely played the position. I don’t really know who to equate him to at this point because his NFL potential is clear but it also would be no surprise if he never played a down here. It was very different. He never did the same thing twice, even when he got better and hit his stride in the 2nd half he had no consistency in any part of his mechanics. His decision making improved, which to me was best thing to see in the game. He looks brand new (because he is) and if he carries over the decision making improvements each outing his performance will improve tremendously and as far as Texas is concerned that’s the most important part of his evolution because his mechanics are going to have to be changed and addressed from the top down and better that comes from Sark/Milwee/Milwee’s replacement. He’s a moldable piece of clay with a lightning bolt for an arm. Everything else is going to have to be taught. I mean, yeah.
  5. That was his best throw so far, for sure. this 2:00 offense is horribad.
  6. He's so far behind what we are used to seeing with Texas HS QBs that it's unreal. He never does the same thing twice. Release point. Arm slot. Footwork. Milroe has a lot of work to do and he's miles ahead of this. He's a build from the ground up.
  7. OU pro day results - Wylie'd :: Stevenson - 4.63 - 4.47 shuttle - 31.5 vert - 9'4" broad - 15 reps Perkins - 4.78 - 4.78 shuttle - 32" vert - 9'7" broad - 25 reps Humphrey - 5.09 - 33" vert - 9'4" broad - 29 rep
Tre Brown - 4.40 - 4.27 shuttle - 38" vert - 10'3" broad - 13 reps Norwood - 4.58 - 4.5 shuttle - 33.5" - vert - 10'3" broad - 12 reps
  8. I'm not that surprised because I had seen his combine totals and saw what his athleticism looked like as a FR. Athleticism wasn't his issue. His fucking head is the issue and right now I can't imagine spending a pick on him because his athleticism is elite and still he looks like he does in coverage and in space. He was playing out of position and/or in poor scheme super often under Orlando, sure. so you can forgive a little but A LOT of our other guys on defense looked demonstrably faster in the game vs Utah (called by Naviar) and/or in Ash's scheme the following season. Caden didn't. I think he's got to figure out if football is what he wants to do, because he certainly didn't prepare or play like it the past 2 seasons. Naivar and Ash are both good coaches at the S spot. He's got elite athleticism. Yancey McKnight is much maligned here but he did a really good job (as Pro Day shows). With all that Sterns still looks like he does on the field. He didn't progress as a player despite these things. Often the coaches get all of the blame re:development but it feels very much like the blame here is entirely with Sterns. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. I think those numbers were from the Opening regional events in 2018... I just copied them from my post with all of them on the recruiting board from Oct 2018. Some of the player profiles on ESPN still have the numbers, some do not. For example Demani Richardson's page shows results from a previous event that he didn't test nearly as well. My guess is that it comes down to who was updating the back end at ESPN at the time. I have no idea if the Opening still has those regional results online, they may be on a waybackmachine version, no idea. Sterns :: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/220289/caden-sterns Richardson :: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/230645/demani-richardson Eagles ::
  10. So you are saying that he isn't and wasn't an exceptional athlete because the Opening numbers were inflated? That's your intimation? Be better than this goddamn nonsense. Opening numbers for comparative analysis - of note, even if the numbers are "inflated" the same results apply across the board, do they not? Sterns is an exceptional athlete. D'Shawn Jamison -- 5'10" 175 - 4.48 40 - 3.9 shuttle - 36.7″ vertical - 35′ powerball Caden Sterns — 6-0.5 - 192 - 4.69 40 - 4.01 shuttle - 37.4 vertical - 36’ powerball BJ Foster - 6’1” - 193 - 4.52 40 - 4.27 shuttle - 33.7 vertical - 33’ powerball Jalen Green — 6-0 - 171- 4.69 40 - 4.01 shuttle — 32.7 vertical - 33.5’ powerball Anthony Cook - 6’0” - 174 - 4.69 40 - 4.12 shuttle 36.7 vertical - 34.5’powerball Brennan Eagles - 6-3.5 - 214 - 4.51 - 3.99 shuttle - 37 vertical - 39.0’ powerball Bobby Wolfe -- 6-0.5 176 - 4.71 40 - 4.41 shuttle - 34.2" vertical - 31.0' powerball Erick Young -- 6'0 208 - scratched - 4.27 shuttle - 32" vertical - 35' powerball Brian Williams -- 6'0.5" 211 - scratched - 4.47 shuttle - 31" vertical - 39.5 powerball Demani Richardson -- 6'1" 209 - 4.59 40 - 4.14 shuttle - 34.7" vertical - 41.5 powerball
  11. His combine grades as a recruit were pretty goddamn legit, that shuttle was elite. He's an exceptional athlete - the question for NFL teams is can you get him back to playing football and out of his own head. I think this was from The Opening? Can't remember which event :: Caden Sterns — 6-0.5 - 192 - 4.69 40 - 4.01 shuttle - 37.4 vertical - 36' powerball
  12. SMU replaces Joyner with Chidera Uzo-Diribe (28 year old rescued from the Kansas trash fire) He is going to be a ++ recruiter. No idea how he will do as a position coach but this is an excellent way to minimize the recruiting loss/impact of losing Joyner.
  13. John Burt. Reuben Foster. I'm sure there are more but it's rare for sure.
  14. I hope that Flood has his evals in order and that Texas lands a deep and talented OL class - it's sounding promising. For all the ratings/9.95er love that Savion Byrd got Jaylen Early is the better football player and if he wants to come to Texas it feels like the smart move is to take him. Not only because he is already really good at football and can play multiple spots on the OL, not only because he has a ton of upside, but also because if you don't take him you are almost assuredly handing him to Bedenbaugh and OU (unless Bama decides to make a late run). I feel like Early is good enough that if you already have your OL numbers - you rob one from another position and get him in.
  15. Rollover accident out on 2244. Truly terrible.
  16. Kadavion Dotson (WR) also likes Texas and is going to be a legit prospect.
  17. Can't blame you there, it's addition by subtraction for sure. Who is looking most likely to take that spot? I'm assuming Criddell or Washington (or will he be playing CB)? Going to be interesting to see how the entire DB depth chart shakes out (specifically if Harrington can get and stay healthy and where that pushes guys around). I couldn't believe that Fields kept his spot all season, he was brutal. I'm assuming that Lawrence is taking one of those jobs, right? Fields or DTY.
  18. Oh man... Wants to find a real WR developer - chooses Dameyune Craig.
  19. it's too bad Malik Muhammad headed to IMG. Would've been cool to see them both on the same team.
