  1. Guess he's going to follow Ketron Jackson to Arky? Seems like a good bet and a really good scheme fit for him, honestly.
  2. hahaha. Dewberry has the classic feel of a guy that was rated higher but is fading and will end up at aggy. Pushing his decision back to ESD only exacerbates that feeling. Texas doesn't seem to be pushing super hard for him and I don't know a lot about the Sooners big board, but I know that Bedenbaugh talks daily with Malik Agbo and Dave Iuli, Dewberry? Not so much. Would not be surprised to see LSU throw their hat in the ring late and make a run vs. aggy - as several of their OT targets are heading elsewhere.
  3. Nope. Not only will it not scare him off there's a good chance that Ty Simpson is on the 2-deep the day he sets foot on campus, not just because he's really good but because the Tide are really young at QB right now. The depth chart heading in to the spring is Bryce Young (SO) and Paul Tyson (RS SO who was the QB2 take to go along with Taulia). That's it. Pretty much the same situation at Clemson with DJ Uiagalelei and Taisun Phommachanh (HOLY NAME COMBO) though I don't expect Klubnick to hit the 2-deep and will likely get his RS. Texas will very likely have some shakeout with Casey, Card, Wright, Lourd, and Murphy ...
  4. It mostly won't have an impact at all. I will say that all of you guys talking about aggy or the SEC aren't thinking this through. The biggest impact would be made out west, if there is impact to make. Esp with this staff making a move out west - if I were one of the schools out that way I'd find creative ways to keep that story in front of the parents for sure. also, you don't bring up Texas directly in a pure negative recruiting way - you just ensure that your commits and leans comment/RT/amplify discussions around the subject, bonus points if you get current and former Horn players commenting endlessly to do the work for you. You just keep the fires stoked without ever bringing Texas up directly. It's full of sound and fury and signifying nothing but the BMDs and olds need to let this shit go right now.
  5. QBs spots starting to get filled up - Tanner Bailey commits to Oregon :: https://247sports.com/player/tanner-bailey-46081988/
  6. Don't judge him on the 3 star current ranking, he's going to be a P5 QB1 in someone's class and a solid 4* by the end of this cycle. Florida is not fucking around in their interest level in him. Iowa is going harder after him as well since Fleck landed Knuth and Cumbie and TCU aren't going to go quietly. Scaring him off is 9.95er nonsense, but he's not a QB2 type guy and not everyone wants to be in a class with another QB1 type talent
  7. Committed to PSU. Sorry George. fuck James Franklin.
  8. So both brothers in the portal. Interesting.
  9. Was it Limas Sweed who played in an option offense in high school? My memory is iffy on it but I think he only had like ~65 career catches and almost half of them were for TDs. Of course, Creekview is really bad, Brenham was really good.
  10. Claude Mathis as HC - here's a rundown of the some of the DeSoto kids under him, see if you can spot a trend... Cyrus Gray, Tony Jerod-Eddie, Damontre Moore, Von Miller, Shemar Turner.
  11. all of it, including the wildly unrealistic expectations that Jackson obviously had and the black QB narrative bullshit, It's all exacerbated by number and sheer volume of the Sooner honks circulating around that program. It's worth the effort to try to crack that shell and point out the differences in the 2 staffs as much as possible because there are a couple of 2024 kids that are headed there that do like the Horns.
  12. With Claude Mathis back at DeSoto it just seems like those recruiting cycles and that effort would be better spent elsewhere. Hell, I'd rather Banks work his way back into Duncanville vs. the Sooners before getting back into the Mathis bullshit. I've been the circus and I've seen the strings.
  13. I don't know how hard the staff is pushing with Dewberry. I know they've worked him some but he wasn't being recruited at all by Flood at Alabama and his ceiling is a question. He's also talked a lot about pushing back to NSD for a commit, I'm hopeful that the OL class comes together well before that. Miller is really good. I understand the idea behind feeling like maybe he's redundant to Blue in skillset but the question to me is "is the need for a bigger/power back more vital than taking a tremendous RB (Miller) even if his skill set is somewhat mirrored in the current commit?" and I don't know the answer. I will say that beyond Citizen it's not a banner year for bigger/stronger style guys. Texas didn't even kick the tires on Ollie Gordon before he committed to OkState, Tomarion Harden looks like a guy that could fill that role (and he plays with Maalik on Premium) but Texas hasn't made a connection there either and may simply want to see his development in the upcoming shortened CA season. It feels like you could grab an effective bigger back from the portal as needed, leaving you free to take Miller, but even with portal guys Texas only took a cursory glance at a few of the guys that fit that bigger/power concept.
  14. that sound you hear is all the pressure being applied to Jeff Traylor's shoulders to put it all together this season and give himself the platform/resume to take the next step.
  15. Really surprised to see so many QBs listed and not see Zion Brown, Reese Rumfield, and Warren Peck.
  16. TSRH. he’s had problems on and off the field and even as a one year rental his risk/reward ratio is not good. Way better for the team long term to get Crawford and Barron into the games and get them as much live game experience as possible. Pushing either of them back for a year to take the risk with Kendrick seems like a high bill to pay for his rental.
  17. They just eliminated it to save money for their ailing athletic dept (note how much they’ve spent on the campus silly upgrades) and there’s some interesting noise around it ... “More than 3% of all Black male undergraduates at Clemson (22 of 693) are members of the track and field or cross country teams. ” https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/30655868/complaint-alleges-clemson-removal-men-track-racial-discrimination%3Fplatform%3Damp
  18. Andrew Makuba went to Clemson back in the dark ages of 2021.
  19. The question mark for me is that Clemson eliminated their track program. Does he not want to run track in college? I assumed he would be doing both and that seems like an easy advantage to point out for EVERY team recruiting him and against Clemson. I guess maybe he's not going to run track... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  20. Yeah, I don't think Choate is engaging with Medlock and certainly hasn't re-offered. Jordan can absolutely play and I hate to see him go to OU. I think he would do really well in their scheme as a NB. Both seem like guys aggy should be all over but aggy CB recruiting remains a mystery to me and their struggles with legacies (Medlock) are worse than ours.
  21. Motherfuckingfuck. Added titles to get more money and/or to avoid lateral movement clauses in contracts are as old as the hills. Do any of you fuckers think Banks is doing any Head coach work? How about our very own Co-DC Jeff Choate? fuck
  22. They also forget that the Seminoles were fucking loaded with NFL talent when Jimbo moved from OC to HC. They were underperforming toward the end of Bowden’s run but that team was DEEEEEP with size and speed. Washington was deep in accountants.
