  1. Agree with everything in your post, excluding the Eagles comment. The guy is an absolute freak of nature and you take him in any class because maybe he does learn to play football and you have a top 15-20 draft pick that is bigger, stronger, quicker, and faster than every single defender he faces. Eagles is all of those things. He just isn’t good at football. He’s the high risk/high reward player you take every time, imho. As a high school kid on a very slow track on a cold rainy day where everyone tested like shit Eagles put up these numbers :: Brennan Eagles - 6’3.5” - 214 - 4.51 - 3.99 shuttle - 37 vertical - 39.0’ powerball it didn’t work but I’d take that chance again in a heartbeat. Epps can get fucked.
  2. Super talented but he’s been a head case/trouble the entire time at Clemson, probably should’ve gone to the draft instead of staying.
  3. Newton was also home to James Sylvester (Baylor) and Tamauzia Brown (JUCO/grades) who had shady recruitments. With “coach” jkb back at Baylor as director of scouting or whatever, I’d imagine he will play a role in any Newton recruitment and I’d be wary of getting over involved — based on history.
  4. Throwing distance is an over-valued measure - like a 40 vs shuttle or 3-cone. Velocity and spin rate are both more important BUUUUTTTTT it’s completely irrelevant because both Murphy and Ewers have NFL ++ arms in all those categories. Distance/strength/velo/spin - they both could outperform several noted NFL QBs in that regard right now. There isn’t a single throw where arm strength will limit either of them.
  5. Samson could be headed to play with his brother Puka but yeah, that WR room is on fire right now and the Ute fans did not love Holliday’s work/effort already. wonder if they’ll roll the dice on Tommy Bush?
  6. I think Mack would've beat Mullen in the end to get him but now we'll never know.
  7. I could see Dreyden Norwood end up at S (with his 4.4 shuttle). I know they have several guys like him playing CB but Harmon and Chappell are both a move toward a more athletic and coverage capable CB. They appear to be fucked in 2022 in TX right now at S but Bobby Taylor is another guy that they are getting at CB that should be a FS. They have 15 S offers right now and I don't know if they are likely to sign any of them right now. May have to circle back around to LA or their NE stomping grounds to land a couple.
  8. Leaving with his Masters, that's really badass.
  9. Nope. He hasn't been able to stay healthy at all. Sounds like he's looked good when healthy (he is a freak athlete so no surprises there) but that was very rare.
  10. 2022 players that didn't grow up aggy :: "Who the fuck is Reggie McNeal?"
  11. Yes, and he's good he's a bit of a leaner/reacher so I don't know if he could play LT long term but with the 3 year rolling class and the guys they have, he seems like a good RT prospect to get locked up early. Fucking Henson has done a really good job going anti-cube and rebuilding that pile of pudding on their 2-deep.
  12. He and Mukes seem redundant but Mukes seems extremely adamant about not playing LB, so perhaps Daniels has come around to the idea. A lot of OU mods and posters are probably going to have to walk back a lot of the mental eval commentary about Daniels. aggy signing Gilbert (who is really good) late makes Daniels expendable on their end, so I don't think they'll mind seeing him walk.
  13. Really expected to see Texas re-offer and engage with Anthony Lucas but it doesn't look likely. https://247sports.com/player/anthony-lucas-46097888/ also, it looks like Davis did start following Jadon Scarlett the Coram Deo kid we talked a little bit about a while back. https://247sports.com/player/jadon-scarlett-46101759/
  14. Why do you say them? Aren't you an Ag? FWIW, that is an atrocious expectation level for a player that was ranked in the top 75 in the country and top 10 in the state. He absolutely is a liability, but much like Haines and Gideon as discussed here, the inability for Elko to recruit over him doesn't mean he's good. Aggy as a whole love to talk about what busts the 2018 DBs at Texas are but O'Neal is far less productive than those guys and there are no Texas fans would claim that Sterns or Foster "met expectations" by starting and getting some picks and tackles. The idea that O'Neal somehow meets anyone's expectations is mind-blowing to me. He's been terrible. Trevon Moehrig who aggy decided not to pursue and who could've been aggy produced FAR better than all the others but also has the advantage of having been coached by Paul Gonzales who is really good. Proving that evaluation is key and that development matters. O'Neal - 103 tkl - 4 INT - 5 PBU Sterns - 173 tkl - 5 INT - 8 PBU BJ Foster - 122 tkl - 2 INT - 9 PBU (2 FF) Trevon Moehrig-Woodard - 124 tkls - 7 INT - 21 PBU (2 FF)
  15. aggy and Sooner fans talking shit about Gideon need to get used to the idea that he's a fucking tireless recruiter and that once he connects with a kid that shit is going to go one way.
