  1. His new testing numbers really show a big improvement Measured in at 6’3.5” — 235 pounds
  2. HammLite posted about him in the guys to watch thread a few months back and then posted a new one today :: That's a very short highlight HUDL but it shows a guy with a tremendous frame and some really nice natural athleticism. I worry about that body lean getting his chest out over his skis but he's clearly a project so if proves himself coachable that could likely be corrected, it doesn't look like a balance issue (a la Kenyon Green). The fact that Bloomgren is in on him is a good sign, imo.
  3. I didn't realize that 247 had bumped Weigman so significantly, he's rated above Ty Simpson in 247's ranking - which is ... something.
  4. Marshall is interesting because as reported "Achane is the reason he started playing football for the first time this year and the two are very close" I expected this one to be a quick offer/close scenario for aggy but with it playing out to ESD he's going to end up with offers and interest from all over. I still would expect his relationship with Achane and aggy's location to win in the end but if Bama, tOSU, or especially Clemson enter the mix along with Texas pursuit, adding in all of the west coast schools pushing hard ... Note: Clemson has only made 2 WR offers in the 2022 class Caleb Burton (tOSU) and Adam Randall (Clemson).
  5. Rush end/olb would be my guess. He has a good skill set on offense but the upside would be as a spread killing athlete, imho.
  6. Football, baseball, basketball, and track would be my guess and it’s still super common at smaller schools. **edit: beaten by @Hornlover by seconds. Dammit.
  7. This is what happens when your staff leans on a single member, Ish Aristide, for too much of the communication and relationship building.
  8. Dickey goes out to California and offers a prostyle QB for the first 2023 QB offer -- I suspect that there's got to be a smaller much less accurate DT QB that Jimbo really has his eye on, right? https://247sports.com/Player/Nicholaus-Iamaleava-46101236/
  9. I don't know how high-profile (decent 3*) but Tristian Houston is the last one that comes to mind. I may be super wrong though. Before that it was probably Chykie Brown/Trey Hopkins.
  10. Thanks @Bam Bam Sam that allays some of my anxiety over Glasscock’s general meatheadedness.
  11. His brother loves it here for sure, I think it’s more about his position coach (with Gare’s assist) and a little bit about doing his own thing. Texas will absolutely load up on quality DBs this cycle. No worries there.
  12. Remember when I was taking about FatPat being fine with spoiling a recruitment?
  13. This. It really is confounding that this isn't the case. Further, this should simply be the standard and expectation at OU and Texas for RBs. In a rolling 3 year class both of the RB rooms should have 4 RBs that are minimum NFL serviceable level talent, guys like Fozzy Whitaker (who I LOVE) should be the floor. I don't think there's ANY reason to expect or have less at either school.
  14. So .... TrUsT tHe CoRcHEs Be better than this shameful bullshit. Do you actually understand what a DPP does? Do you honestly not understand the distance, the vast chasm between eval and the finished product? Much less the on-field result? Then you don't know very many football people. He's has absolutely coasted in this job since he's got here and it's widely known among coaches that he is. He's on the same fucking path as half the dudes at his age who go up to the NFL and come back down. When they come back they've lost the fire and the will to recruit and coast on name recognition and a bunch of the same old same old in drills. He so bad at his job that we literally hired a whole ass person to try and help him recruit and he's a RB COACH FFS. I'm embarrassed for you.
  15. I agree and I keep trying to find that kind of guy in state, at the end of the day I think it's going to have to be a late riser because guys like Hoover and Evers are getting some huge attention and offers. It does make me wonder if Braedyn Locke might get a look. His size is going to be his knock for most everyone but for a QB2 guy - he's got incredible production (92 TDs and 7500 yards as a FR/SO) and plays for a team that has won a lot of football games. https://247sports.com/Player/Braedyn-Locke-46093750/
  16. Let me help you out real quick .... Click here ... https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/index.php?/forum/2-football/ or head back to the warm embrace of IT https://insidetexas.com/forums/ If you need a constant blast of sunshine shoved up your ass one of these two places will be much more your speed. You'll be happier as will I. Texas finally hired a DPP and he's a meathead and certainly not a top tier DPP. Before you go all "Wiltfong says..." note that the reason Wiltfong says it is not because it's true but because this guy is a conduit of information for him and his job lies in said information. Glasscock is a JAG and indicative that Texas isn't willing to make the moves to build in the Bama way or committed to hiring the best and brightest, nor are they looking for new paradigms. It's more disappointing because several of the coaching hires are guys that have questionable eval skills so to me the DPP and RC are hyper critical. Recruiting and grabbing guys in the top 247 is the "easy" part of the job, the DPP and his staff need to be ensuring that the bottom 8 guys in each class are better evals than our competition. That our secondary and tertiary choices are capable of landing on the 2-deep and contributing if we miss on our first options. It's a fucking meh hire. My expectations for Texas are to compete at an elite level, this hire is not a top tier hire. If you are happy with it - good for you - that's your expectation level. for me - this sums it up I am amped as fuck that we landed Stewart and Blue. I am amped that the 2022 class is going to be really fucking good across the board. I also make a point to be realistic, for instance Stan Drayton is fucking terrible at his job and I've been saying this since what 2018? maybe even earlier, probably late in the 2017 season. That doesn't mean I don't love Bijan, Roshcon, et al and it doesn't mean that I changed my donation level or season tickets. (CDC's continued employment will very much change any paltry contributions that I do make because he's fucking terrible). You can very much love the Longhorns and hate some of the coaches, players, hires, etc ...
  17. Not really recruiting or Texas-specific but Gus Malzahn has hired Chris Dawson (S&C) away from KState. That's a damn good hire for Gus and puts some serious pressure on Klieman to make an excellent hire to replace him.
