  1. I think that's giving BC more credit than he deserves I think both the BC and Martin are hires based on the fact that ASU is out in front of every single eval and is contacting every single recruit FARRRR more often.
  2. USC appears to have decided to not be left behind by ASU ::
  3. Brown is an ATH take and Dennis Simmons was his primary recruiter. If Raleek signs with OU and wants in the RB rotation he'll learn that Murray is a size queen that wants his RBs to be in his physical mold and will use bigger backs more often in the rotation, even if the smaller backs are more productive (see the terrible Arizona RB room shuffle). Sawchuck certainly looks like a heavy OU lean right now but then you have McClellan and Wheaton ... Murray is fully capable of getting beat on his primary target despite leading or even having the commitment. The bigger problem is that Murray, just like Drayton, has done a terrible job recruiting any secondary or tertiary options, so that when he misses on his primary target he's left empty handed. Unlike Drayton, Murray's personality is off-putting and he's had issues playing favorites and splitting his RB room. He's also made some moronic unforced errors in recruiting. It's incredible that Texas and OU, 2 schools that have an incredible history at the position, have a couple of chucklefuck morons coaching the position right now.
  4. https://247sports.com/Player/JT-Tuimoloau-46048440/ He still hasn't committed yet - appears Saban 11th houred his ass.
  5. Not an Ag and I think is more of a basketball guy. If I am remembering it right he's the one that went to SMU then grad school at DePaul or UChicago or Illinois, one of those...
  6. They have a huge staff with tons of guys under two directors of player personnel -- Al Luginbill (yes, the old SDSU HC) who knows literally every coach on the entire west coast and a young dude Ryne Rezac doing a lot of the outreach with trainers, coaches, 7v7, etc... across other states. Those dudes run a plethora of young guys and a couple of old coaches that do evals. They also have a lot of QA/QC guys that support those efforts. I didn't think the Herm Edwards move would work but the reality is that they let him build a monstrous front office and support staff and it clearly is working.
  7. Tbf to Roach he did make that CB on the same day Banks committed to Ok State...
  8. Because it was already discussed that Texas was considering not filling Carrington's role at all. Because Texas hasn't interviewed any of the prospective external candidates for the role. Because when any org combines two different job roles under a single person, what they are really doing is eliminating one of those jobs long term. Giving Harris the title is good for his resume and a way to increase his salary over the standard analyst. The director of recruiting role at Bama (and most other schools) requires a lot of work/available hours. If Harris is also an offensive analyst and covets not only an eventual on-field job but learning the ins and outs of QB coaching from both Sarkisian and Milwee, then I will assume that he will be spending a ton of hours doing that. Nothing that has happened so far with any of the staff hires or personnel moves has spoken to Texas doing anything "the Bama way". At all. Expecting this move to be different, instead of viewing it as more of the same (and via Occam's Razor) as a way to do away with a role while helping a rising assistant boost both his resume and pay scale, seems pretty illogical to me. Why do you think the analyst role is the redundant of the two? Further, do you think that Harris wants to move further away from being an on-field coach?
  9. I do hate that worthless fucker with the heat of 1,000 suns but the referenced comment was more about the fact that BCs role was being phased out and used in name only to get Harris some extra ducats and how un-Bama like it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  10. So Harris is moving to QBs and taking on an expanded title of Director of Recruiting - but really that role is all but going away and leaving Drayton back to his own devices. That sound you hear is the sound of the "set up the program like Bama" bullshit dying a wheezing death with each successive decision/hire/move by this staff.
  11. At tOSU is implied in this conversation. FFS guys be better than this football board nonsense.
  12. Playing for Leach (a la Sonny Cumbie) has nothing in common with what is happening here don't be purposefully obtuse. Playing for tOSU is not like playing for Leach FFS. What recruits see in Day is that Haskins was wildly productive in the NCAA, won a shit ton of games, and went on to be a top 15 draft pick and got fucking paid. The next QB in line was wildly productive, won a shit ton of games, and is about to be a top 10 pick and get fucking paid. Day did this after Urban Meyer could not produce NFL 1st round QBs. What exactly do you think is a differentiator here for Sark? Day is batting 1.000 and you can try to argue around it 300 different ways but it remains true. To clarify, I didn't say the recruits don't care about the NFL, I said IDGAF. I don't. Fuck the NFL. I care about the Texas Longhorns. I give not a single fuck about the NFL other than it's effect on recruiting and to that end it really only matters where they get drafted.
  13. I don't think you're making the point you think you are making with Haskins. He put up monstrous numbers and was a top 15 draft pick. Haskins 2018 season for tOSU :: 4831 yards. 50 TD 8 INT - 70% completions and 4 rushing TDs. IDGAF what happens in the NFL or how Haskins has done there, I would gladly take that stat line from my QB any season. Do you think current recruits think that Day isn't developing QBs? Because the Buckeyes hadn't had a QB drafted in the 1st round since Art Schlichter in 1982. Fields is about to be taken off the board early as well. Meyer didn't have any and Day is about to sport his second in a row.
  14. Sarkisian does not throw deep often. At all. "(re:Mac Jones) 379 pass attempts this year, just 53 traveled more than 20 yards downfield in the air." Ohio State under Day does throw downfield a lot more than Sarkisian. I would sell that as well, if I was tOSU. Increased vertical passing has been a focus of evolving the offense at tOSU so that being part of their messaging to the QB recruits makes a ton of sense. I don't remember the exact statistic but I think the Buckeyes are up over the 20% mark for throws of 20 yards or more. This is Ohio State recruiting with a clear and consistent message that is a differentiator.
  15. that Epps - Ossai - Jamison trio is just chefskiss
  16. tbf he's son Jerry is the WR coach at UCLA so he's got more skin in the game than just being the former UCLA HC.
  17. He's got to be trolling. Truly. Abiara looks like Tarzan, plays like a narcolept. If you took his entire high school career and put together the top highlights you could make a compelling case that there are a couple more plays made than there are if you took any random single Sanders full game and pulled those highlights. The 9.95ers ranking of Foster v. Conner is one of the most laughable things I've seen recently.
  18. they are absolutely a threat in terms of shitting up a recruitment, even if they aren't a part of it. Very much so.
  19. First, like I said when Dick Lowe died that leash went from 20 feet to 2 feet in a second. He's on the hot seat despite being the most successful HC in their history. I don't think that's an insanely long leash. TCU HC wins and winning % to give some perspective on why Gary has earned said long leash.
