  1. He lost a tremendous amount of support from the “young” (sub 55) BMDs with his bungling of this entire process. The job is simply too big for him.
  2. The baseball facilities got a facelift but they are not competitive with the top facilities. Places like Arkansas, Miss State, Vandy, are still MILES and MILES ahead. Not even close. LSU, Wake, TCU, Ole Miss are all much better as well. it’s an absolute embarrassment at Texas and CDC isn’t going to have any support from the guys who did help get the baseball and softball upgrades done.
  3. Well the stonks nonsense is better than his completely fabricated Matt Campbell stuff and infinitely better than his sucking off Wickline’s OL recruiting, so .... terrible is an improvement for Nahlin.
  4. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying Boulware didn’t treat Sermon like shit or that he is not the problem. Its clear he did and is. I’m simply pointing out that Murray had plenty of time and the best ammo available “we fired that fuckhead, under me you will blah blah blah NFL, Riley offense ...” the narrative that it was all Boulware is totally cool and seems legit. It just seems like OU folks don’t want to ask the hard questions about why Murray didn’t work to keep him, imho. 🤷‍♂️
  5. Jay Boulware was hired at Texas in January— Sermon didn’t hit the portal until March. Demarco Murray was hired in January. FFS, If Riley and Murray wanted to keep Sermon and couldn’t that’s on them. Recruiting him should’ve been as easy as getting rid of Boulware if it was about Boulware, right? OU fans can hate on Boulware and with good reason (I get it) but Demarco Murray was a terrible hire and is the worst coach on their staff (outside of Wiley). He’s made several terrible choices in offer/non-offer/pursuit and had some disastrously bad gaffes that cost OU with secondary and tertiary guys. The Arizona RBs hated Murray with the heat of 1,000 suns and told every trainer, recruit, and coach who would listen. He killed their production with terrible rotations, favored size over production/skill, and played favorites with guys he was “bros” with. He’s a bad hire. I hope he and Bennie Wylie stay forever. quigley is a Sooner fan, btw
  6. Wonder if that impacts Brenan Thompson’s commitment at OU?
  7. And yet, Texas has very few players in the portal and a pretty good number of players coming back for another year when they could leave for the draft or transfer easily, despite the on-field issues/results with this staff and the overall uncertainty with the program exacerbated by the terrible job Del Conte has done this year. Players across the country are hitting the portal in record fucking numbers and despite the dire warnings of “anonymous Texas players” telling a DB not to come — it looks like Texas will sign a CB and a S via that same portal, so perhaps the article should state that Alford was telling players not to come to Texas and take his spot, before he bailed. relevant::
  8. That's a really good OC/DC combo and Wommack is a rising star. Hitching his wagon to Wommack over Butch is a damn good move, imho.
  9. If Alford is unwilling to stay and compete for playing time after a RS year and is worried about a former JUCO graduate transfer with year to play he's going to be in real trouble when younger 4* kids come in to take his fucking job, Coffey for example. It's weird because Alford helped get several guys closed down for Texas and has been an active recruiter. It's even weirder to want to go play for Todd Orlando. Naivar, I actually understand. USC's depth chart at S isn't much more inviting - it's pretty loaded and Xamarion Gordon certainly isn't going to be kept off the field for long. I'm guessing the other young DB referenced is Caldwell. Dunn is an FCS All American with an NFL frame and legit track speed and has 1 year to show out for the NFL. Similarly, If that young DB is concerned that an FCS guy is taking his spot, what is he going to do at any P5 school with the 4 star in front and behind him? Jamison and Thompson will have to continue to improve just to keep Crawford from starting in 2021. I think Crawford and Barron are going to be hard AF to move from the CB spots in 2022 and beyond and Jamier Johnson gives zero fucks about your feelings, not unlike Adimora, so he's going to compete as if the job is his as well. Ish Ibraheem is up in the air but if he's able to come in as well it's going to get even tougher to stay on the 2-deep.
  10. TSRH. Rising. Archuleta. Justice. Robinson. Costelli. Brewer. JQJ. They are looking for one guy to hit. Most of them have 3+ years of eligibility. The thing that strikes me as odd is that Costelli is a freak athlete with some serious upside. I think adding two guys to that already crowded room is a pretty good recipe to get him to transfer to SDSU, SJSU ... He's a 10.8 100 guy at a legit 6'3" 205. I wouldn't have risked losing him by adding Brewer, for certain. JQJ and Costelli are both really good fits for the offense but just like the Texas situation, I don't expect everyone to stay and be all sunshine and rainbows. I'll take Costelli as a transfer next year.
  11. Would Matt Campbell lose to TCU with Texas talent? Yes. He’d lose at least a game a year that he has no business losing. Look at his history esp vs lesser opponents like UNI, Drake, ULL, NIU over and over ... hell, the entire 2019 season was one gaffe after another with clock management so bad that Charlie Strong laughed at it. The more important question is would he be able to get Heacock to come with him and for how long? Without Heacock he’s a downgrade. Herman isn’t the bar. Matt Campbell is not and should not be our standard.
  12. What was average ranking of the Houston classes under Herman when he fuckstomped Jimbo Fisher and his team full of 4 and 5 stars? what is the average recruiting class ranking for Northern Iowa? ULL? Drake? take away Heacock as his DC and you’ve got what? hard fucking pass
  13. Wtf? I think you mean - Heacock is a hell of a coach. Campbell’s resume is built entirely on Heacock’s work. The ST were fucking terrible. The offensive side of the ball was packed with penalties, poor play calls, the moronic paralysis on that 3rd down call, 3 INTs. this isn’t a 1 game thing either. Heacock is the straw that stirs that drink.
  14. If you locked Day up you could score 35 in that 8 minutes by handing the ball off.
  15. Ryan Day is a fucking moron. Sermon is going to go over 300 and his NFL roster is leading a pack of 3 star engineering nerds by 6 because Fields is completing .0003% of his passes and Day can’t help himself from calling more passes.
  16. Heacock should run over and punch Campbell into unconsciousness.
  17. Without searching the googles, I am betting fred Smith from sealy was holding that record before. Jordan Whittington. *I think
