  1. The other view it’s even clearer Guidry walks into the end zone if he catches it instead of playing volleyball with it. Harris does take it 90 to the house, but yeah he was beaten.
  2. Well there’s always OU - they had an alternate uniform discussion devolve into racist nonsense. ZOMG “a black stripe”. Any BLM or COVID thread there goes south instantly and has to be moved and/or deleted.
  3. Here the FSSW view ... abusing those kids.
  4. Do you honestly think anything could deter them from making the trip to College Station? My guess is that the letters will be all about how "there was no way a little thing like "a hoax COVID" was going to keep them from the greatness of Aggieland!" Come on, Vandy usually only gets this chance every seven years or so. I can't think of any reason why someone living in a nowhere town like Nashville wouldn't want to come and be embraced by the world's greatest fans shouting "howdy" and treating them to an experience that no other college could come close to matching. Anchor down and whooooop.
  5. They were just terrible last year and there really wasn't a reason to keep Mason that I could fathom, and I expect them to be much worse this season. I know that coaching at Vandy is a pretty thankless gig, but there are young guys that would jump at the chance to take that challenge on and would bring something to the table. Anything. Beating those terribad Tennessee teams shouldn't have saved his job. This is a poorly coached team that does nothing well. There is not one phase of the game where they even scratch average. A lot of people will point to Vandy's complete lack of talent, and they do severely lack talent but they are about on par with SMU in recruiting rankings and SMU would beat the fucking brakes off of them. Not unless he's improved a lot over last season and I'm not big on Okafor. I get that Green was a FR so I am cutting him a lot of slack, I think he could become an NFL OG down the road, but last season you could tell when McCollum replaced Green because the run game immediately improved. It was night/day and McCollum isn't exactly a badass. He was simply markedly better than Green. Wydermeyer, Richardson, Johnson would all start here. Ainais Smith would get touches for sure. (I'd assume Achane and Demas would as well) If Brown and Leal bought into the culture they could start but not with their current inconsistent level of effort. To be fair Brown looks like he's lost a lot of that shitty weight so I expect we see much more of his potential this year. The next time I see Leal put 4 plays in a row with any effort will be the first, which was what a lot of us noted while he was in high school. So much talent, so little competitive drive.
  6. I am ALL IN on Utah to the Big XII. Let's. Fucking. Go.
  7. Want to know when you are little brother? When an article that has no mention of Texas, written my a Michigan guy triggers endless replies about Texas. If Matt Hayes wrote an article with this exact basic content predicting a Texas 4-6 finish there would be exactly ZERO replies talking about aggy. Maybe one because RD exists.
  8. That's a more fair comparison. I don't know if Allen has the elite ball skills that Sterns has, but with his history playing QB/WR and his innate ability to carve angles it wouldn't surprise me if he had excellent ball skills but I haven't seen him in 7on7 and he only had the 3 INTs on his HUDL so it's conjecture. Like Sterns, Allen takes good angles to the ball and the ball carrier - it speaks to his ability to watch tape, understand the scouting report, and then execute. So, Sterns is pretty apt there. The best thing I've seen on his HUDL is the way he takes away screens - he makes a very quick read and makes the play on the other side of the LOS, all under control. Excellent coaching and execution. He's a very good open field tackler, better than Sterns was at that point. The one caveat is that Sterns possesses an elite shuttle time (4.01), his ability to change direction and get back to full speed is part of his ability to make plays on the ball because his top speed isn't incredible (4.62).
  9. Uhm, you could start at the part where I said anything at all about Bryan Allen. I said not one word about the kid other than pointing out that his combine numbers did not measure up to Huff. Huff who in a world of freaks (the NFL) was a fucking freak. Allen is a really good football player. I don't think you'll see anyone here say otherwise. That entire take was about Nahlin plucking Huff out of the air and how absurd that is. There's a million players to use as to compare Allen, some of them might even be similar in some way. Huff won the Thorpe and was a top 10 draft pick and was an elite defender at FS, SS, and CB. Most importantly when you compare someone to Huff the immediate take away is "he must be an incredible athlete". Allen is not. If Nahlin said "he reminds me of Bryant Westbrook" - what is the first thing you'd assume, before you even looked at the HUDL? "This is going to be 6 minutes of a heat seeking missile killing kids" That would be my thought. If the player clearly isn't a striker at all, would you think that was a good comparison to use? When Nahlin invokes Huff, the expectation is simple - "Easily best athlete you'll see this decade. Here's film of a kid that could play CB, WR, FS, SS all at NFL levels." saying 9/10th of a second might make it feel like a tiny thing but that is the moon. Make a list of all of the guys that have the run 10.36 in high school at 6" 185+ with a frame to carry 200 easily. That list alone is really small. If they have to actually be good at football, it gets even smaller. If they could play even one position at an AA/NFL All Pro level it gets even smaller. In a world of freaks, Huff is a fucking freak.
  10. Fucking Nahlin. Huff ran a fucking 10.13 and was elite in just about every way a human can be elite as an athlete. No one reminds you of Huff. If they did it's not a guy that runs 11.27. Again, Gbenda is a LB and ran an 11.07. 4.74 40 -- 4.43 shuttle - 32" vertical at 5'11" 178 Huff is an old man and would absolutely crush those numbers right now.
  11. Also of note the guy on Horns247 that says that Isaac Thompson's film is meh -- he's a freaking Soph and he appears to be bigger/faster/stronger than any of the other DBs or WRs. He's clearly got a good frame and shows nice lateral quickness and excellent balance. He plays CB, FS, and WR and he has NO technique right now. It's far better than Bobby Taylor who didn't start all year at Katy. Honestly, this isn't like watching a kid coming from DallasHoustonSuburbanSchoolX with an added 10 years of 7on7 with professional coaching along with 6-8 years of strength and agility trainers. Also, his 38" vert and 9'8" broad jump speak to an explosive athlete with good core strength. It seems very much like the guys that are being targeted have a lot of positional flexibility and Thompson clearly does. I could see him at CB, Spur, or FS. I keep saying it with the guys that they are targeting but he very much reminds me of Akina targets.
  12. Honestly it's probably in his best interest. If he can run really good routes and has a good head for sitting into holes in zone he can contribute. I don't think he has enough athleticism to play P5 defense.
  13. He's going to get a decent bump likely just from getting a profile on ESPN and with his barely having a grade on 247 and Rivals, if he shows that he can not fall into a puddle of goo at the snap he's likely going to get decent bumps across the board and be the source of many a BOMC whiny post.
  14. Roach leaving Hullaby off is patently absurd. Even if his brother hadn't come in to camp and become the poster-child for buy-in to the Herman culture, which he has, Landon is a rangy DB with an excellent frame that provides positional flexibility and competes with top-tier guys constantly while training. It's funny that Roach claims to know how the Texas coaches feel about Isaac Thompson while at the same time saying that he thinks that they'd take Kerr/Driver but want to see more from Hullaby. Hell, if there was anyone on the list that would warrant a further look, it would be Cristian Driver. He has the genetics and he's had all the training. He's got a good frame but he simply does not run well and I doubt he's going to gain a ton over what his training has been. 12.58 in the 100m and 7.51 in the 60 as a JR and a 21'5" LJ are pedestrian numbers - for a LB. Comparison Gbenda 11.06. Blackwell .11.86. Biddle 10.7. Kerr 11.66. FFS, Hullaby ran a 12.17 in middle school
  15. Vandy just lost 6 more to Covid. I would assume that game, like the OU/KSU game is in jeopardy at this point. **update via gigem 247 :: according to the Tennessean newspaper only one is truly Covid related. One player is in quarantine. Of the other 5: 1 opt out, 1 transfer and 3 lost to injury. At least publicly so far Vanderbilt is making no noise at all about cancelling.
