  1. Agreed, not Sark's fault but the schedule this year ended up not doing us any favors. OU was a disaster and those two long Wisner runs near end of 1st half put the game away after looking pretty shitty on offense. That Florida win in particular gave Sark too much confidence in his conservative play calling for the rest of the year. We had some big yardage plays with basic short stuff. Florida threw in the the towel early and that game should've been considered a throwaway instead of some sort of vindication. A&M just completely shit the bed and barely put up a fight.
  2. Florida was absolute dogshit vs. us without Lagway. Almost feels like they conceded that game before kickoff.
  3. I don't see it either. Maybe he can be moved to WR?
  4. Yes, he did. But let's see if that holds. Lots of unknowns right now with Baxter and Clark's recovery time. I could see us adding someone in the Spring portal.
  5. Most of us realize that and are very happy with Sark. But the lingering issues holding us back right now are specifically Sark's territory. Game management, play calling, and an inconsistent offense with RZ issues. Maybe Arch at QB helps. But ideally Sark recognizes and willingly addressing these issues starting this offseason.
  6. Is Connor Robertson the projected C starter next year right now? With Daniel Cruz backing him up?
  7. Also everything is a tick faster with Arch compared to Quinn. The drop backs, play action, footwork, decision making. A bit more urgency and tempo overall. It will pay off.
  8. Yes, Aggies have no idea what real success or championship aspirations look like.
  9. Hopefully your trollish spite posting goes away when Quinn declares for the draft.
  10. Yeah, clearly Arky and A&M are nowhere near the level of UGA, but they are the two best homes games this year.
  11. Yes, considering we had an inconsistent and out of rhythm offense for the vast majority of the season, a top 4 finish is great. Now it's time for our offensive minded HC to seriously address and fix the issues on offense.
  12. I'd rather watch a Charlie Strong Texas game than this shit.
  13. While I generally hate the sequencing of next year's schedule, I think it sets up nicely for the first year under Arch. I'd break the season up into 5 segments. 1. Opener vs. Ohio State - Obviously extremely tough game, both teams have to replace a ton of players. I like have the starting QB entering his 3rd year in the program. No matter what, we will learn A LOT from this game. 2. Cupcake month. Home vs. SJSU, UTEP, BYE WEEK, Sam Houston. Plenty of opportunities for playing time and figuring out our rotations on both sides of the ball. 3. AT Florida, OU in Dallas - Gators will be tough. OU the following week. Important middle stretch. 4. AT Kentucky, AT Miss St., home vs. Vandy, then 2nd BYE WEEK - All manageable and winnable games. 5. AT Georgia, home vs. Arky, home vs. A&M - Nut cutting time.
  14. I really liked Ehlinger but probably don't hold him up as highly as some others on here. But he was tough as fuck and sacrificed his body every week for Texas. I understand why fans would love him.
  15. We all know that, man. Let people vent.
  16. Quinn's weaknesses are Arch's strengths. Mobility, physicality, footwork, pocket courage, deep ball, zip...these are all traits Arch showed consistently in his playing time this year. Yes, it was vs. inferior competition, but it was also his first real playing time. I think the offense is going to look very different next year. Doubt we see as many slow developing plays, bunch formations, and one read designs.
  17. It's just nice to have clarity if he was knocked out of the game or not.
  18. I just added CSU game to his 2024 highlight reel. arch full 2024 highlights.mp4
  19. Hopefully a reporter asks about this in the next PC and we get some clarification if Arch was knocked out of game or not.
  20. Going back in the game to some earlier frustrations. Gbenda gets the INT on first 3rd quarter OSU drive. Our first offensive play is 10 yards and a first down. Then run for 1 yard on 1st down, run again for -2 yards (this particular play call was infuriating), then a checkdown pass to Wisner on 3rd and long, punt. Be aggressive, Sark! Take a fucking shot. Dial up that special play call. Try to seize the momentum. Fuck. 3rd and 5ish first play of 4th quarter at our own 44, Quinn misses an open Golden for an easy 1st down. The game was tied, and there's a good chance we take the lead for the first time in that game if we convert. Just a massive play that has to be executed.
  21. No offense to OP, but if this is gonna be the catch all Manning thread for the next 2-3 years, can we change the title from "Arch Manning Being Arch"? We can do better.
  22. That was my initial reaction, but after thinking about it I want Ohio State to win. I want it to feel very clear that we lost the NC in this game, for Sark's sake. He needs to adapt on game day. Also I want our revenge victory in Game 1 next year to be against the defending national champs.
  23. Quinn seems to be a great young man and he loved playing for the University of Texas. He deserves respect and I think his overall legacy at Texas is secured and people will generally be positive about it over time. The victory at Alabama was a sea change moment for this program and he led the way that night. And 4th and 13 will live on. The expectations were always high and a lot of his defenders felt that was unfair. But we are Texas. And QB expectations are always high. But the larger issue is he and his camp set those expectations themselves from the beginning. Reclassifying and skipping your senior season of high school, particularly as a QB and #1 recruit in the country, was a huge deal and truly elevated everyone's expectations. That's gonna create or add to the "prodigy" or "generational" label. I have zero inside info and will admit it's a bit unfair to speculate, but I would guess that QE personally didn't really want to skip his senior year. I watched a good interview with him recently, and he basically said the best time of his life was playing High School football at SLC with his friends. He loved every minute of it. His family/team seem to be pretty influential, and I'd guess they pushed it. Then he becomes maybe the first big name to score a huge NIL deal at Ohio State. That too will add to the hype and expectations. His QB trainer is Mahomes' trainer. I bet he is was miserable sitting 3rd or 4th string in Columbus and not playing his real Senior year with his HS buddies. But he got paid at least. He transfers to Texas shortly after and is named the starter right away. The rest is now history. But let's be real and accept that a lot of the "unfair expectations" were self-inflicted.
  24. I hope you're right that Quinn plays well in the NFL. But also here's what's going to happen. Arch is gonna open up this offense and we will be better and more explosive next year.
  25. I made this 2024 Arch highlight real a few weeks ago. arch season highlights.mp4
