  1. I appreciate Hutchinson speaking out against Trump with clarity and thoughtfulness. Victor Shi calling her an "American hero" is absolutely ridiculous, and you see this kind of language from rah rah Dems too often. I hate it. Coming to your senses and doing the right thing is not heroic. Stop treating a clear moral issue as some incredible hurdle to climb. Oh, and of course she's written a book. It'd be nice if former Trumpers speaking out would do so without trying to financially gain something from it.
  2. When reached for comment, RFK Jr. responded with the following statement:
  3. I know this isn't a new thought, but it was a reminder to me of a larger problem than Trump/MAGA that affects everyone. One of my closest friends (a lifelong contrarian and conspiratorial thinker) sent me a tweet showing Kamala on her plane in a photo op where she is accused of a staged photo writing on blank pieces of paper with her earbuds not plugged in to her phone. The tweeter said it reminded them of a scene from VEEP. My friend knows how much I love VEEP (he's never seen it) and it was a truly lighthearted text he expected I would laugh at. He knows I'm very liberal and we usually chat about sports, but there was nothing nefarious. What I got out of it the most is my friend and I are consuming completely different information. I'm sure if I grabbed his phone and scanned his Twitter feed, there would be ZERO crossover politically. Modern technology has completely removed the media monoculture we experienced in the 20th century. We all sit here incredulous that people can be pro-Trump based on his media clips and everything else. But I'd bet that the vast majority of his people don't see what we see. And vice versa. I know I'm on the "right" side of this election, but 95% of what I consume is showing Kamala/Dems in the best light. I notice the half-truths and out of context BS from Dem accounts, and it's pretty frustrating, but it's clearly WAY worse on the right. It's such a dangerous way for society to receive and process information. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, MSM, podcasts...the algorithm will only feed you what you want to hear. And I don't see a realistic solution. It seems it will only get worse.
  4. Milroe was fantastic vs. UGA and deserves the flowers. It's funny to look back after the Texas-Bama game last year. Tide fans were furious about Milroe's performance, and Saban started Tyler Buchner (!) the following week. I didn't think Milroe played that bad vs. Texas, made some costly mistakes but overall flashed enough to see the potential. I was also impressed with his demeanor on the field. Happy that the kid fought through that adversity.
  5. Feel free to call me out after the game, but I think Mizzou is gonna win fairly comfortably. I don't think the Tigers are a great team by any means, but they have a functional passing offense. They are coming off of a bye week, and probably circled A&M as their first real test heading into the season. As it has been mentioned many times, Kyle Field might be loud and filled with pageantry, but it's been proven over and over again that it is not intimidating. Arkansas - as they do every single year - completely shit the bed vs. A&M and gave away that game. I haven't seen any real improvement from the Aggies even though they continue to sneak by with wins. I like that most of the pundits are predicting a close A&M victory. I think their back end gets exposed this weekend (pun intended) and they don't have enough on offense to keep up.
  6. Maybe, but I don't think so. That's not how narcissists operate. He's been happy to endorse people beneath him, but for POTUS? That's his job. If he can't be President, no one should.
  7. Feels like we are entering the endgame with this election. Debates are done, minds have been made up. I don't think an October surprise will have any affect, we are pelted every waking minute with so much bullshit that nothing is gonna truly stick at this point. IMO it's all about turnout and judgment day for voters. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
  8. It feels almost impossible to predict how Trumpers are going to react to other politicians if Trump loses and doesn't run in 2028. It's such a cult of personality. In that scenario, I find it highly unlikely that Trump is going to support any future candidate. He is not a Republican, and he doesn't give one shit about anyone else but himself. If he can't be President, then no one should be President in his mind. Trump is a total anomaly and will never be replicated again. Once he's gone, it is a completely fractured party with zero guidance on where to go next.
  9. Thank you in advance for anyone willing to give play-by-play on here.
  10. Walz is no slouch, but I'm assuming Pete has offered some killer one liners that could be of use.
  11. Brent Venables has only seen The Godfather Part III, which he refers to as "the good one".
  12. Genuinely asking, is Ewers running Sark's offense, or has Sark now curated it to fit Quinn's strengths? We used to take a lot more downfield shots in Quinn's first year, but couldn't make enough connections. Now Sark is fully embracing play calling that supports his strengths(accuracy on intermediate/short throws, quick release, touch & anticipation). Arch has a different skillset. His eyes are downfield more, and with his bigger frame is willing to take a hit to get the ball downfield. I expect this passing offense to look different next year. He definitely needs to learn when to put more touch on the ball, like that wheel route you mentioned. And I have very little concern about his timing in the pocket, I agree it's just an experience thing.
  13. I check in on Ikard/Lehman and their OU game breakdowns on YouTube occasionally. Love that they are drinking the kool-aid after stealing that win vs. Auburn. Lehman spent a lot of time talking about how good OU's defense played after *checks notes*...giving up 482 yards of offense and 4 receptions over 30+ yards. They fully bought into the Sooners being elite on D after the Tennessee game, even though anyone with objective eyes saw that Heupel decided to be very conservative after halftime. Their 4-1 record allows them more time to be in denial, and hopefully that bleeds into the OU staff and football team over the next 12 days. All is fine, Sooners. Y'all got it all figured out.
  14. A&M is favored? Take Mizzou moneyline right now if you plan on betting.
  15. I'd guess the line will be something around Texas -10 by kickoff. Maybe higher.
  16. 100%. But there is no downside to actively being pro-marijuana. Last time I saw a research poll it was down to around 10% of Americans that wanted marijuana to be illegal.
  17. I'll give you the first personal example I can think of. I play in an annual golf tournament with 40 dudes that are all around 40-50 years old. Vast majority went to private school, grew up in classic conservative families, married with multiple kids, and work in O&G, attorneys, private equity, etc. Honestly I truly like all of them, but I'd guess that at least 75% are Trump voters (we don't talk politics on this trip, thankfully). Every one of them smokes weed or takes gummies. Don't think it would change many of their votes, but it's a no brainer to loudly be pro-marijuana.
  18. This is really out of touch. Do you know how many adults of all ages and all backgrounds use weed these days? Old people have really turned the corner on marijuana. Too many of them have seen themselves, or friends, or family struggle with chemo and other issues and know the benefit cannabis provides. I know that medical marijuana is legal in many places, but it needs to be readily available everywhere with zero restrictions on what type is available to a an adult who needs it. I'll never forget 15 years ago when one of my best friends called me in tears asking if she could "pay" me for some marijuana I had to help her dad while he was dying from pancreatic cancer. Of course I just gave it to her and offered to give her more anytime they needed it. He had never used it before in his life, but it ended up providing great relief during chemo. All that said, right now the most important part of legalizing marijuana is decriminalizing it. It is 100% a winning issue.
  19. This is good. Go further. Talk more about legalizing marijuana.
  20. The GOP has been working the media refs since Ronald Reagan became President. MSM has expectations of Democrats, and absolutely none for Republicans. Only one party is supposed to play by the rules. It's as simple as that. The game is rigged.
  21. Well, good for her and I appreciate the effort. But highly unlikely Von acts in good faith, and I doubt the interview would be impactful in any way. In the end this about making money for him and he knows where his bread is buttered.
  22. I know this full interview was posted earlier, but some comments about this clip. Mark Cuban is great here. He's not "triggered" or angry, he is patient and friendly with Vonn, and succinctly states his issues with Donald Trump without coming off as arrogant or mean. But just watch Theo fucking Vonn. Cuban: "Trump has ripped off a lot of people I know." Vonn: "There have been a lot alleged issues with contractors." Cuban "No, people I know have been ripped off." Tells story of co-worker having to sue Trump for not paying her $4 million. Vonn: "But how does someone benefit from behaving like that?" Cuban says this is who Trump is and all he knows. He was born rich. Vonn: "He always had good hair. Rich people always have good hair." Cuban laughs off a bad joke and total deflection. Cuban lists off Trump businesses that have ripped off hardworking Americans. He incredulously laughs at Trump's commemorative coin bullshit. Vonn: "That's gangster, bro." What a fucking joke. Cuban comes on the show in good faith, and Vonn returns the favor by having absolutely no desire to genuinely discuss any of his factual points. Vonn's instincts are to defend Trump, doubt any criticism, and call him a "gangster" with "great hair." Vonn's listeners will not take Cuban seriously if Vonn himself doesn't. Which makes these type of interviews pointless IMO. Idiocracy on full display. I now get why Kamala or Walz shouldn't entertain going on Rogan, Vonn, or any other podcast from these clowns. The fix is already in with these piece of shit Trump apologists.
