  1. Sure, but Clemson is the one playoff team playing with house money. They backed their way in to the ACC Championship and had a 56 yd FG to win it. They are the biggest underdogs in the 1st round. I expect them to play loose. Maybe it doesn't matter, we'll see.
  2. Same. Clemson really has nothing to lose. After the defeat to SC, Dabo was completely dejected at his post-game PC as Miami was up big vs. Syracuse at the time. Their playoff hopes were dead. Then Syracuse came back to win and Clemson snuck into the ACC championship game. The pressure is on Texas. We have to step up and play well on both sides of the ball.
  3. OMG they're still talking about Ewers on the Ewers thread!
  4. We have top men working on it right now.
  5. Whatever makes you feel better.
  6. We've had 8 plays this season go for 50+ yards (6 passes, 2 runs) 1. Quinn to Golden in the SEC championship game - 50 yards 2. Quinn to Wisner vs. Florida - 50 yard TD 3. Arch to De'Andre Moore vs. Miss St. - 50 yard TD 4. Arch to Bond vs. UTSA - 51 yard TD 5. Ryan Wingo end around run vs. Michigan - 55 yards 6. Arch to Bond vs. ULM - 56 yards 7. Arch run vs. UTSA - 67 yard TD 8. Arch to Wingo vs. UTSA - 75 yard TD
  7. One additional note from Gerry: I did confirm that a Texas message board poster that goes by Helobious is indeed on campus as well. He's been given free rein by the staff to hang around the facilities and it's possible he is sleeping there overnight as well. Not sure what his exact duties are but my source saw multiple members of the athletic training staff treating and icing down both of his forearms last night. Something to monitor.
  8. Guys, the secret visitor is Helobious. They set up a pallet for him under a table in the massage room for some contract cock jacking until the portal closes. Wake the fuck up.
  9. Been off social media for a while and don't watch the news these days, so this thread is my introduction to this breaking "news". Looks like society is getting shittier at a much faster rate than even a month ago. We had a good run, the DumbFuckening has begun.
  10. Moore had 9/114 and our only TD vs. Georgia.
  11. This offense not being in rhythm has just become the norm at this point. Everyone points to the Florida game as an example where our offense and Quinn looked great, but go watch that game again. The results/stats are awesome, but it was all just kinda ugly. Quinn throws a good deep ball to Moore, dropped. Same series, Quinn misses an open Moore for a big gain. Later Moore dropped another great deep ball for a TD. We can't convert the easy stuff, but make big plays on short passes that broke free for huge gains. It helped that UF overall really seemed to lay down that day. Quinn racked up a lot of yards and we were up 49-0 early 3rd quarter. But the offense still looked disjointed.
  12. Sark seems more reserved in interviews the last couple of weeks, even before the UGA game. Maybe he's exhausted at this time of year with coaching/recruiting/portal hitting all at once. Would be completely understandable. But it's noticeable.
  13. Imagine believing there are programs thinking, "Let's double or triple the NIL money Quinn gets at Texas. We can fix him".
  14. Sark's "don't turn the ball over" offensive strategy with Quinn has generally failed. Needs to become the "go score lots of TDs" strategy starting...now.
  15. The shit these players have to deal with on social media is WAY WORSE than anything written on a goddamned message board.
  16. Agile and bendy receiver with elite footwork and balance. Finds ways to get open and attract balls. A coach's dream.
  17. I don't know how he'll do at the Combine, but Golden passed the eyeball test from Day 1 at Texas and has delivered ever since. He just looks like a pro WR out there. Great player.
  18. Based on the lack of great teams (and QBs) this year, VY would have Duke in the playoff and probably win it all. Jk, but maybe not?
  19. - This is the best offensive line we've had since...??? - Kelvin Banks has been Quinn's left tackle for all 3 years until injury vs. A&M. Possible top 10 pick in the NFL draft. 5th year SR Center. Inconsistent but talented RT that might declare for NFL draft with 1st or 2nd round grade. - Deepest WR room in years. In 2023, Texas had 3 wide receivers with 10 or more catches for the season (X,AD,Whitt). Texas has 5 WRs with 20 or more catches so far this year (Bond,Moore,Golden,Boldin,Wingo). All are expected to play in the NFL. - TE Gunnar Helm 49 catches and flying up draft boards. - Wisner 3rd team All-SEC at running back.
  20. Hahaha. Ok, here we go again.... archcooktd.mp4
  21. Agreed. For as much as I think Arch would ignite this offense, Sark's succession plan and sticking with Ewers has been a wise decision long term. We won 11 games and have a favorable playoff setup. Broad view, mission accomplished. But when you get to the actual results on the field and finer details (and the desire to win a National Championship), it legitimately makes sense to play Arch more. There is no QB job to win or lose at this point. The offense has sputtered for quite a while outside of the Florida game. The game of worrying about egos or a controversy should be over now that we are in elimination mode. Maybe bringing in Arch for a series lights a fire under Ewers. And then we ride with Quinn to victory. I really don't care how we get there, but the offense needs to wake up and play with confidence/swagger to make a legitimate run at the title. It's worth toying with, IMO.
  22. I've seen multiple people mention he said that when being interviewed on ESPN after the playoff seeding was officially announced. Looked for it on YouTube but nothing there.
  23. So at this point, I think most people agrees Arch should get more PT moving forward. I didn't see it, but apparently even Sark mentioned that he probably should have played Manning more vs. UGA. So how do we do it? IMO, I think it would be a savvy and smart move to give him a predetermined series in the first half, let's say the 3rd series. Whether we're up 14-0, trailing 14-0, tied, whatever, give him a full series. He is a solid running threat, but we need to let him throw the ball and make a defense play honest. 3 and out? Fine, no biggie.Turnover? Highly unlikely it's a game changer that early. Just put Quinn back in and keep Arch as a situational option. We move the ball and get a score? Now we've got options. I think this is the best way for Sark to get a feel on whether it's the right move or not to play him more. See how the team responds to the change/results on the field, and go from there.
  24. I don't expect Quinn to be "perfect" at all. You just make stuff up. Your arguments on here have been more disingenuous than the people that go overboard with criticism. This is Surly. You want rah-rah bullshit all the time, maybe a 9.95 site is more your speed.
