  1. JFC, man. Read the words in the post. I'll spell it out for you, though. The final drive of regulation or OT.
  2. The UGA game came down to making one play. Things are not gonna go smoothly vs. a UGA defense. Lots went wrong for Texas, as said before 20 things went wrong. Bad breaks, bad penalties, and some bad football. But ugly games happen, and one team wins them. In the end, we needed our QB to make one fucking play late in the game. Just one. He has the ball in his hands every down. It is the most important position in sports. He is the 3rd year starter, and leader of the offense. One fucking play. Just like Washington last year. Good news is he has another opportunity next week (and hopefully more) to get it done.
  3. That's an end of game bitchfest thread after losing to TCU. We have a lot of dumb reactionary threads after losses. Not a thoughtful or serious discussion.
  4. Just making things up now?
  5. It will be so much harder for him in the NFL. The fact you can't see it is not surprising. O-lines don't bust protections? Everyone has a running game? What? Do you watch the NFL at all? His path to NFL success IMO is to 1. get drafted by a good organization 2. Sit for 1-3 years 3. Work very hard on fundamentals 4. Learn how to avoid hits/pressure. He physically wouldn't last one quarter in the NFL if you threw him on a team today.
  6. You take the criticism too seriously. We are all Texas fans. We're on a message board and like to argue. Every single person here wants Quinn to be the man and lead us to a NC this year. But some of us are not gonna put our heads in the sand when you see consistent issues that stand in the way.
  7. I do feel for Quinn. He was so fucking solid vs. Michigan, and deservedly in the early season Heisman talk at the time. Then he comes out on fire vs. UTSA (I feel like 14 of our first 15-16 plays were passes) and was on his way to a 250-300 yard first half. Post-injury he just hasn't been able to find that juice again.
  8. You're right and what I'm about to say is not trying to be argumentative. If I had to think of the best and most important individual play by a Texas QB this year, I would say it was the Arch TD vs. A&M. 4th and 2 from the 15. If Arch isn't in right there, who knows if we get the first down or not. Hell, if Arch would have been tackled for a 3 yard gain and a first down, it's possible we don't score a TD (based on recent red zone issues). When you watch that run again, he didn't try to get a first down. He tried to score a TD. And it was an impressive athletic display with toughness to get to the pylon. The point is he showed the killer instinct. We scored because of an individual effort by Arch. Be aggressive, break their fucking will. Quinn doesn't show that type of mental toughness. I like him, he's got a cool demeanor that's probably helpful to the team in some ways. But football is an emotional game filled with momentum swings. We need our QB to lead. Players feed off of it .
  9. Sark has two weeks to re-develop a red zone offense. We won't make it far in the playoffs, let alone possibly out of the Clemson game, without serious improvement. Can't lean so hard on the defense or Bert Auburn. Whether that's better play calling, adding an Arch package, or something else, he needs to get it figured out fast.
  10. I could see UCLA making some promises to Maalik, I guess. I have no idea about their QB depth chart, but they sucked this year and their starting QB was a Senior. Closer to home, good school, etc.
  11. Yes, you do. It happened this year.
  12. He's giving his honest opinion and a lot of people agree with him. You just don't like it.
  13. Sure. But it looks like he was guaranteed to start at Duke again next year. Surprising if a bigger program would make that promise. Maybe Duke's NIL situation is bad, I don't know. But something kinda stinks here. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
  14. That would be absolutely shocking. He did nothing at Duke this year to deserve that kind of job. If he gets good NIL and a guaranteed starting position at a better program than Duke, it just shows how desperate some programs are right now.
  15. This is surprising. Duke had a nice W-L season but let's be honest, Maalik was fine at best. If he is getting looks/promises from bigger programs to start next year, that's great and I'm happy for him. But it's curious.
  16. I generally agree with all of this. Just as an exercise in trying to fully understand Sark's decision to stick with Quinn, I think he's worked hard to establish a healthy culture and a united locker room. And a QB controversy is something he's concerned will have a negative affect. From what I gather, the team loves and believes in Quinn and Arch. Leaders on the team support their starting QB. If we had blown a couple of games earlier it would probably be a different story. That said, we are at the point of the season where it's not about winning or losing the job at QB. We are in the playoffs and Sark needs to whatever is necessary to win.
  17. Totally different scenario. Arch next year isn't trying win the job over an already established 2 year starter and fan favorite like Major. He is clearly the man for the next 2-3 years.
  18. Alright, you're saying Moore fucked up. I completely disagree.
  19. Ok, so you're blaming Moore. No, I don't think Moore messed up. He ended up having to run horizontally towards the end to track that ball. It was a bad throw. It's very simple. That's not an indictment on anything else he did. But if we're gonna Zapruder one play, that was on Quinn.
  20. First of all, this play is about 8 yards further back compared to our play. Secondly, the WR was able to make an over the shoulder catch without having to contort his body. Thirdly, this a different team with different players. So I can only gather that you think Moore ran a poor route, which I don't believe is the case.
  21. I have no reason to believe this ball is supposed to be thrown where the WR has to to turn and make a back shoulder catch. And based on his body language attempting to make a play, neither did Moore.
  22. Yes, a perfect throw would have been an over shoulder catch right at the pylon. But Arch led him in the correct direction to make a fairly easy catch. Ewers throw was very bad, significantly short of the back pylon and more towards the sideline. What are we doing here? It's right in front of our eyes. Look at the route he's running and where the ball ends up. That ball lands closer to the front pylon.
  23. Again, here is video of Texas successfully throwing a slot fade this year. Watch Cook's shoulders and route, eerily similar to what Moore was doing. The goal is not to have your WR bend like fucking Gumby to make a catch. archcooktd.mp4
  24. He's still most likely right though. There's a reason Moore doesn't turn/flip his shoulders around when trying to run under it. The ball is not supposed to be thrown that far towards the sideline.
