  1. It's a bad throw. Poor mechanics due to anticipating a hit, short arms it, ball comes out off target and without enough zip. We aren't playing the Texas Techs of the world anymore. It's not, but that's more of an indictment on Texas QBs over the years.
  2. I think he just wanted a manageable 2nd down to start the series and he knew an Arch run was the safest way to do it.
  3. Yep, bad throw. And look at him anticipating contact that fucks up his mechanics too. Poor play by Bond, but in film study that fuckup is on Quinn.
  4. I have no what the actual dynamics are, but Sark's handling of Quinn mentally just hasn't worked out IMO. The reality is Quinn has played a lot worse in games we won than he did tonight, but few people really bitched about it then and it doesn't look like Sark really addressed it either. The 9.95ers at OTF (mainly Gerry,Shipley, Coach Erwin) have been biting their tongues about Quinn since he returned from injury. You can tell they all think he's not getting it done, but tough to say anything when Texas continued to stack wins. Will be interesting to see what they say this week, especially considering Quinn wasn't the biggest issue tonight. The footwork and fundamentals with Quinn continue to be an issue in Year 3, and it's unacceptable. Is his QB trainer still heavily involved with him during the season? Why hasn't that stuff improved under Sark and Milwee? Why can't Quinn rip it when needed? Why are there clear mental blocks 30+ games into his career? Sark did everything in his power to cater to Quinn this year. After 2 UGA losses and below average performances offensively in many other games, let's please move forward doing everything we can to win a NC.
  5. Maybe don't do that right now, lol.
  6. The reality is Sark's offense with Quinn has never been consistently good enough. We underperform the majority of the time. It feels like things have to go perfectly in order to score at a high rate and reach the potential that is there. Sark has curated his offense so specifically to Quinn's "strengths" that we can't turn on a switch and get things humming when needed. Sark fell back into his typical offensive playcalling for Quinn at a time we needed to not fuck around and just sling it down the field. Hoping for the best in the playoffs but can't wait to get out of this finesse bullshit next year.
  7. I hope more than anything we figure this shit out in the playoffs and win it all. But a lot of these issues go away next year with Arch at the helm. Will be a different offense that won't need perfection to score a lot of of points.
  8. Do not blame the defense for a goddamned thing. The defense is what has kept Quinn in the starting lineup all year and kept Sark from having to make a change.
  9. We've all watched Bama and UGA in these SEC championship and NC games for years. These tight games are always decided by a HC making ballsy, aggressive calls to find a way to win. Kirby did it with the fake punt today. Momentum is EVERYTHING, whether it's stopping it or gaining it. I hope Sark looks within and adjusts accordingly.
  10. Running game was bad, but we still should have won without it. Quinn was doing well with certain routes and play calls, and Sark went away from them when it mattered. I don't believe for a second that UGA was adjusting and taking those plays away from us. The double fake pass reverse whatever the fuck playcall was AWFUL. Way too cute. Please learn from this, Sark.
  11. That shit was on Sark. First down was a Wisner run for nothing. 2nd and long, we run a play action (????) that was slow developing and ended up being a throw away. 3rd and long, Quinn got desperate. I have been VERY critical of Quinn on this thread for weeks. I'm not a huge fan. But it's ok to call out our HC and playcaller. Throwing vertically over the middle was working, and he went away from it.
  12. I maintain that Sark's playcalling was the issue over Quinn today. What Kirby has learned over the years in the SEC is you have to let your nuts hang to win these games. Sark got way too cute with the playcalling. That shit doesn't work in the SEC in big games. Just drop back and throw a goddamn deep slant for a touchdown instead of running double fake finesse reverses or LOS passes that need to be perfectly blocked in the red zone to succeed.
  13. No, it was a terrible call. You can call a quick fade or something. The game was bonkers at that point. Be aggressive.
  14. It would help if we didn't call a dump off to Wisner on 3rd and long. I don't care if it was one block away or not, you can't ask a guy to get 15 yards after the catch inside the 20.
  15. I haven't ready any posts since the game started, but some thoughts: - Ewers was absolutely good enough today. We can pick apart individual plays, but he was game out there and played well enough to get the W - Sark's playcalling was a way bigger issue - I hope Sark is learning from these tough lessons and we're able to finish off games like this moving forward, whether it's in the playoffs or next year.
  16. Kindly, please keep all fucking AI shit on the AI thread.
  17. C'mon, Quinn. This is the you we need. Today is your day. Go fucking dominate.
  18. I can't wait to watch Justus and I'm sure the staff is doing backflips to get a talent like this. But this recruiting win feels bigger than that. This announcement was in the spotlight and Texas wanted to send a very clear message to UGA and the rest of the SEC: We are not fucking around.
  19. Slippery athlete with great lateral movement and eye discipline. Quick thinker and finishes strongly at the point of contact. A take, IMO.
  20. CJ echoing the info from OB yesterday.
  21. I'm sure there are quite a few people on here that have some connection to the Taaffe family, my "source" thinks he goes to the NFL after this year, with the assumption he has some reassurances he will get drafted. Kinda surprised me but if pro football is his dream then I don't blame him for going after the season he's had.
