  1. I've been as high on Arch as anyone on this board. Here are some true statements: 1. He looked like shit in his first Spring game. Clearly a huge jump from Newman to college ball and he looked very raw and overwhelmed. 2. He looked good in the Spring game last year. Much more confident and accurate throws. 3. He played well when Ewers went down in UTSA game. 4. He made some glaring "rookie" mistakes along with nice deep balls in UL Monroe game. 5. He played fantastic the following week vs. Mississippi State. 6. He was completely off vs. Ohio State He needs consistent reps to find consistency. Just like every other Manning. Peyton threw one of the ugliest balls we've ever seen. He had almost 30 INTs his rookie year in the NFL. Eli made a bunch of dumbuck mistakes. Arch is just now the true starting QB. I'm just as disappointed in his performance on Saturday as everyone else. But it makes more sense when you look back at people saying "How can Arch ever meet the hype?", "This is biggest opening CFB ever", and Texas being pre-season ranked #1 with Arch as the Heisman favorite. We were hoping that stuff didn't matter, but it looks like it had an effect on him. Now he can take a breath and get shit figured out. He always does that. Even in High School.
  2. Hot take culture has ruined sports conversations. External build-up and tear down. Arch played like shit on Saturday. If one throw late goes for a touchdown, we go to overtime, get a pick 6 and win the game, Ryan Clark is not spouting this bullshit. Would Arch still have played a overall poor game in that scenario? Yes. But all of this tearing down right now is mainly because we lost the game. Peyton and Eli got a ton of reps in college and each played 4 years. They both went to Newman and played 2A ball against shit competition. Arch is continuing the Manning process. Peyton and Eli are not "generational" due to their physical talents. It's what's in between the ears, and that's clearly what Arch needs to improve on at the moment, and that comes with game reps.
  3. I'm not sure. But Arch has been working David Morris since he was in 4th grade. Quinn had his own QB trainer as well. Part of the understandable frustration is do we even know what Milwee's actual responsibilities are at Texas? He's kind of an enigma, outside of Sark clearly wanting him here. I think titles are kind of meaningless. Is he actually a QB developer or does he assist more with game plans and play calling? He was OC for 5 years at Akron at a very young age.
  4. Arch has his own personal QB trainer, David Morris.
  5. 1. He wasn't touched by a defender all off season and practice 2. We called designed runs and a QB sneak 3. He was throwing fastballs all day 4. Why would they hide it after a performance like that? 5.. Arch is fully practicing and lifting weights
  6. Arch isn't injured. We've got to nip this stupid shit in the bud.
  7. Clearly Arch/Sark need real game reps to get things going.
  8. The only "good news" about Arch's performance is that he was going to lay an egg and face a lot of adversity at some point this season. Well, here we are. Probably fortunate to play three easy games this month to settle in. Plenty of time to for Sark to experiment and maximize Arch's strengths and get him comfortable.
  9. He's not injured. Bogus rumors.
  10. JFC with the enhanced images and eye droop talk. Keep your sanity.
  11. To put it simply, I don't want to see another QB sneak at the goal line again this year. Yeah, it will probably work against shit competition, but it won't when it matters. We've got a month to work on a jumbo package handoff to a RB. Figure it out.
  12. The sequencing of our schedule is fucking horrible this year and I'm still pissed off about it. At Ohio State in Week 1. Three cupcakes at home and a bye in September, not a single home game in October. Ridiculous.
  13. Arch's first play in the Colorado State, UTSA, and Ohio State games. arch first play.mp4
  14. Thanks. Figured we were doing something, I have never noticed it on a TV broadcast.
  15. I noticed a comment from Sark in post-game PC (5:20 mark) about sitting with Arch at halftime to look at the tape/coverages. My questions are this: - Is there any coach communicating with our QB during the game on the sidelines? - Are we actually waiting until halftime to discuss tape/coverages?
  16. No surprises here. Fitzpatrick has been a poor Ryder Cup player so far in his career, hopefully that continues.
  17. Red Pill X Shift to Far Right 1488 Choke Woke
  18. Your hands get tied when the QB can't connect on easy completions. But I still wish Sark had a little more up his sleeve to overcome it.
  19. Kinda crazy to think about the last 12 games Texas has played. Our opponents have been: Ohio State (x2) Georgia (x2) Clemson Arizona St. OU Florida Vanderbilt Texas A&M Arkansas Kentucky I mean, god damn, this team has been through some battles. I'm sure they're eager to eat these next 3 cupcakes coming up.
  20. Did kayfabe die or just transfer to right-wing politics?
  21. Arch played like shit but that sideline pass to Endries was a legit dot. Great throw with the arm strength needed to fit that in a tight window.
  22. New Surly motto?
  23. I fully admit this is overanalyzing, but based on yesterday's performance I think Sark did Arch absolutely no favors with how he used him post-Mississippi State game last year. Arch only saw the field again in high pressure situations. Throw into the fire vs. UGA when Sark benched Quinn. Used as a battering ram in the A&M and playoffs. All those positives from Mississippi State game (yeah, they suck on defense, but still Arch was fantastic) and being comfortable as a pocket passer got thrown out the window for the rest of the year. It's clear Arch was WAY too tight yesterday and some of that could have carried over from second half of season last year.
