  1. Andrew Tate for Transportation Secretary.? Trump heard he was a "trafficking" expert.
  2. Good job good effort, tech dorks.
  3. Yeah, go down the 2nd dirt road West of the stadium. It dead ends to a wooden gate. A lady named "Auntie Margo" will be waiting for you. She'll offer her granddaughter in marriage as payment for leaving your car there, but that would be illegal. She will also accept a batch of buttermilk biscuits and 8 rashers of crispy bacon, which is the preferred route. It's a short walk from there. But if you throw in some chicory coffee, she will personally wheel you to the stadium gate.
  4. This. Any other theories are just copium.
  5. TO THE GREAT DENMARK, I'M SORRY BUT WE'RE GONNA BOMB THE HELL OUT OF YOU. YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN. I MET ONE, HELENA CHRISTENSEN, VERY FAMOUS MODEL, SHE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL OR SHE WAS WHEN I MET HER. WE WILL ALSO BE DEPORTING EVERY GREAT DANE IN AMERICA IMMEDIATELY. ANYWAYS, GOODBYE!
  6. Look, I've always said I'll only absorb nutritional and vaccine information from someone who has had a brain worm and sawed off a whale's head.
  7. As a fellow (half) Persian, it's disappointing to hear you use language like "True Believer". Have we learned nothing.
  8. Hopefully we get through a few years of enjoying those sandwiches before the listeria eventually kills us.
  9. Sick burn, "Democratic Wins Media". You sure showed them!
  10. The problem with activists on the left is they are terrible strategists.
  11. I'm with @bad_teammate on this one. Hillary lost because she is a Clinton. Kamala lost because she was tied to the Biden administration. I think the bigger issue than gender or race is being part of the establishment. Obama was considered an outsider and fresh face to most of the electorate. I mean, he fucking won IOWA in 2008. Dems have to meet the moment in 2028 and truly give any viable candidate and opportunity to win.
  12. I'd say there's a good chance that the Dem nominee in 2028 is someone not even on our radar at the moment.
  13. I think Jonathan Haidt is generally correct that we underprotect kids at home and overprotect them out in the real world.
  14. JFC. Seeing this cast of characters getting huge positions in Trump's cabinet is fucking nuts. It's like if Kramer was elected President, and he came up with a list of his Cabinet preferences. VP: Newman State: Jerry Seinfeld Treasury: Morty Seinfeld Labor: George Costanza Defense: Mickey Abbott Transportation: David Putty Justice: Jackie Chiles Education: Stan the Caddy Health & Human Services: Dr. Assman Interior: Elaine Benes Agriculture: Jay Riemenschneider Energy: Sally Weaver Commerce: J. Peterman Veteran Affairs: Frank Constanza Homeland Security: Bob Sacamano Housing & Urban Development - Lloyd Braun
  15. Just let it play out, if you don't mind. Most posters will probably need proof it can work before they chime in. It will take time. But my thread title was obviously confusing and didn't help.
  16. @immamac, can you rename this the Surly Truce Thread, or something? My intention was a thread where Surly posters can have a respectful dialogue about issues, not a national truce.
  17. Respectfully, can the people that are super cynical about his thread just refrain from posting in it? I know it's gonna be hard to have a sincere dialogue with partisan posters, but let the ones that want to try have a chance. There are plenty of other threads to vent on.
  18. No matter if there’s any truth to it, conflating Trumpism with Nazi Germany was a losing message, is a losing message, and will continue to be a losing message. Time to workshop some other strategies.
  19. The party apparatus is broken and still operates in the 20th century. Gotta re-build and modernize from the ground up first, and then a crop of candidates that make sense will start to appear.
  20. Same. It will probably be a full on echo chamber within a year. We all knew it was bad for our mental health and the election was the excuse to finally cut the cord. It's only been 5 days but I already feel much better. Our brains weren't meant to be pelted with so much information and constant bullshit. I won't "check out", but I'm also not gonna worry about this shit 24 hours a day anymore.
  21. That was the lowest point for us. My god.
  22. Everything points to a massive change with the offensive staff next year. OU doesn't have the money to fire BV.
