  1. We learn if a true sophomore is ready to be our #1 option. We learn that it’s possible to break big plays and score quickly. We learn if Arch and Wingo can build a rapport and get in rhythm. Tired of everyone acting like these games and results are meaningless.
  2. I'm gonna be pissed if Sark shuts down the offense in second half if we have a comfortable lead at halftime. These players have been through a gauntlet of tough opponents over the last 12 games. Let them have fun and gain some confidence. If only there was a phrase for not letting up and and trying to dominate throughout...
  3. Tomorrow can't get here soon enough.
  4. I've found myself watching more InsideTexas this week. Way more Xs and Os talk and currently watching the IT host, Jett Bush & Drew Kelson breaking down film of Texas defense from Ohio St. game.
  5. Is Shane Gillis still appearing on Kill Tony? According to YT, he did one a few weeks ago. That's all I need to know. I don't fault him for chasing that bag, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Comedian podcasts might be the worst thing to happen in entertainment media. I've had to slog through some at my BIL's request, brutal.
  6. LOL, can we give a little grace to CJ Baxter? The dude tore his ACL, spent a year rehabbing, came back earlier than anticipated, and had a positive performance in his first game back against an excellent Ohio State defense. Assuming he stays healthy, I expect him to be more aggressive and break bigger runs as he regains trust in his knee and overall ability.
  7. What you described is exactly my problem with Shane Gillis. He's an opportunist and hedges as much as possible. The dude moved to Austin for the comedy scene, and now spends his time shitting on Austin and the comedy scene. He joined the Rogan circle and now is trying to worm his way out of it. He makes fun of Trump but thinks Trump is hilarious. He doesn't want to lose his Trump supporter frat bros or the "liberals" who aren't hyper aware of the comedy/podcast scene and just see his TV appearances.
  8. It's possible the issue is all on Arch, but however Sark/Milwee tried to mentally prepare him for the Ohio State game, please do the opposite moving forward.
  9. But let's use some common sense here. If the assumption is he entered the game injured (based on his terrible first throw to Moore on the rollout), then why would Sark not only call Arch running plays (including 2 inside the 10 and a QB sneak) but say postgame that he should have had run Arch more earlier in the game? People who haven't paid attention also questioned Arch's shoulder stretch/tic/whatever between plays, and it's been noted that he's been doing that since HS. The simplest explanation is he was mentally uncomfortable out there and it affected his mechanics. It's not ideal, but most likely correct. He did look better in the 4th quarter, which would support that theory.
  10. JFC, guys. We have so much talent and a deep roster, I'm excited to see a lot of young guys play. It sucks that we have three in a row but I still love watching blowouts. Let's get Arch going. A lot of inexperienced offensive players will get good PT over the next month. Which young WRs will step up this week? We should have a Christian Clark sighting for the first time ever in a real game. Nick Brooks should play. Secondary is going to get a lot of action with SJSU throwing the ball a ton.
  11. Maybe, but it feels like there is more disappointment than anger regarding OSU game, and that disappointment probably leads to less engagement for now. Arch's performance was pretty deflating. If Arch has similar timing/mechanics issues on Saturday, the freak out really begins. If he plays well and corrects mistakes (even against a cupcake opponent), people will feel re-energized.
  12. Milwee's salary is 700k per year. That is not chump change. There could be smaller programs interested in him that we never hear about.
  13. With how much SJSU throws the ball, Littleton might get his first pick on Saturday. Excited for this dude's future.
  14. Understandable for Luke Donald to run it back with as many guys as possible from 2023 squad.
  15. Mahomes has lazy mechanics as well, he's just so talented he can overcome it. The shit he pulls doesn't work for the other 99%.
  16. Totally agree. The decision making was fine against a smart and good defense, timing/mechanics were the clear issues.
  17. I found a clip and made a gif from 2023 Spring game.
  18. I'm convinced that I remember Peyton having that same tic with stretching out his arm/shoulder like that, but I can't find any video evidence.
  19. I've been as high on Arch as anyone on this board. Here are some true statements: 1. He looked like shit in his first Spring game. Clearly a huge jump from Newman to college ball and he looked very raw and overwhelmed. 2. He looked good in the Spring game last year. Much more confident and accurate throws. 3. He played well when Ewers went down in UTSA game. 4. He made some glaring "rookie" mistakes along with nice deep balls in UL Monroe game. 5. He played fantastic the following week vs. Mississippi State. 6. He was completely off vs. Ohio State He needs consistent reps to find consistency. Just like every other Manning. Peyton threw one of the ugliest balls we've ever seen. He had almost 30 INTs his rookie year in the NFL. Eli made a bunch of dumbuck mistakes. Arch is just now the true starting QB. I'm just as disappointed in his performance on Saturday as everyone else. But it makes more sense when you look back at people saying "How can Arch ever meet the hype?", "This is biggest opening CFB ever", and Texas being pre-season ranked #1 with Arch as the Heisman favorite. We were hoping that stuff didn't matter, but it looks like it had an effect on him. Now he can take a breath and get shit figured out. He always does that. Even in High School.
  20. Hot take culture has ruined sports conversations. External build-up and tear down. Arch played like shit on Saturday. If one throw late goes for a touchdown, we go to overtime, get a pick 6 and win the game, Ryan Clark is not spouting this bullshit. Would Arch still have played a overall poor game in that scenario? Yes. But all of this tearing down right now is mainly because we lost the game. Peyton and Eli got a ton of reps in college and each played 4 years. They both went to Newman and played 2A ball against shit competition. Arch is continuing the Manning process. Peyton and Eli are not "generational" due to their physical talents. It's what's in between the ears, and that's clearly what Arch needs to improve on at the moment, and that comes with game reps.
  21. I'm not sure. But Arch has been working David Morris since he was in 4th grade. Quinn had his own QB trainer as well. Part of the understandable frustration is do we even know what Milwee's actual responsibilities are at Texas? He's kind of an enigma, outside of Sark clearly wanting him here. I think titles are kind of meaningless. Is he actually a QB developer or does he assist more with game plans and play calling? He was OC for 5 years at Akron at a very young age.
