  1. There's a reason Bert's last name is Auburn and not Alabama
  2. Hudson Card is intimidated by the pass rush of Jett Bush
  3. "Looking for the pylon...He's inside the ten yard line."
  4. Looking at doing Calgary, Banff, and Jasper in early June and interested in doing some of the scenic hikes, such as the Beehive and Plain of Six Glaciers. Which areas are most likely to be open, and which do I need to avoid due to snow and ice?
  5. I'm sure you mean that the low tempo formula wasn't successful for Texas in particular this year, but the low tempo formula was clearly the preferable style in terms of outcomes in the tournament overall. Houston (Arizona) and Saint Peter's (Purdue) especially outperformed by playing at a slow tempo. Villanova made the Final Four. Gonzaga and Arizona, the best high-tempo teams, lost earlier than expected.
  6. Globe Life Park was kitschy and boring. It had artificial character but didn't have the natural character of an urban neighborhood nor the character that comes from winning a lot of games. Globe Life Field is no better for those same reasons and honestly just seems cheaply designed with little attention to detail. Minute Maid Park is the clear best of that group because of where it's located, a design that used old Union Station really well, and a winning ball club
  7. Was it Charlie Strong who also never won a game when down at halftime?
  8. Timmy Allen played poorly on the road and at neutral venues this season. It doesn’t feel like a coincidence at this point
  9. It’s not a long CFB season, yet Sark has continued his trend of laying an egg three times a year. That’s the same number as Beard, but Sark has done it over roughly 1/3 the games. It’s only been one year, but that’s not promising
  10. Who is Baylor losing next year? They'll lose Sochan, Brown, and Meyer to the draft in all likelihood. Thamba and Akinjo are seniors but might still eligibility
  11. 6D chess: We allowed Shaka to go to Marquette so he could lay an egg against North Carolina like we knew he would, allowing UNC to get the rest and preparation they needed to beat Baylor for us.
  12. Shaka got six years without good reason other than to ride out his contract. Beard made the tournament in year one with scraps. He's not getting fired any time soon.
  13. Ramey and Jones just cold as ice from the field
  14. The only miss was the wide open three at the buzzer
  15. OU is 9-10 on their last ten shots
  16. Andrew Jones - there is no L in leukemia survivor
  17. We need good Jones these last few minutes. Kansas is backing off Askew, and Febres is nothing without a three point shot
  18. TJ Ford is turning in his metaphorical grave right now watching this offense
  19. We did the bare minimum for long stretches to win this game. I'll just withhold any comments until I see what we do in Lubbock
  20. By both Torvik and Evan Miya, Askew is a below-average offensive player. They're mixed on Ramey, but that's probably because he shoots it so well. His passing and ball control stats aren't good. Carr is also seen in a similarly mixed way, with bad shooting stats but the best assist rate on our team. The guards all commit way too many turnovers. Torvik likes Allen as by far our best player, with Jones, Carr, and Mitchell tied for second. Evan Miya interestingly prefers Christian Bishop, followed by Jones, Allen, Carr, and Mitchell. Disu has disappointed so far this year but is the best player on the team for blocks and defensive rebounding. Bottom line: We will have to figure out how to put the pieces together or have more players elevate their game. We fit together better as a fantasy basketball team without enough overlap in skill sets.
  21. No, that's absolutely ridiculous. He and Ramey are the two worst guards on our team by offensive efficiency. Askew shouldn't be playing more than spot minutes, and Ramey should be playing off the ball only.
  22. When was the last time Friendswood had a legitimate prospect? Jaxson Appel in 2001?
  23. We already have the Osteens in the front office. Easterby is Joel, and Cal is Victoria.
  24. Rick Barnes was willing to schedule home-and-homes with quality opponents, which is another easy way to get fans to show up in the fall. Shaka to his credit did the same for the first few years before the schedule quality tailed off by the end of his tenure. Beard put together an awful schedule this year that didn't even include a real preseason tournament. The Abe Lemons Classic was a load of bullshit. Put good teams on the schedule to face your good team in your good arena. It's not hard.
