Great thread. I am about 3 months from being on the wrong side of 50 and I have finally started taking my health and longevity seriously. I am now in what Im calling my "body preservation" stage of life. I am probably doing what most would consider beneficial to not only live longer but also have more quality of life years. Ill start with the more common sense things I am doing and move towards more....non traditional things. For me I ask myself, what can I die from before my body gives out and then I try to prevent those things from happening to me as best as I can. 1. I am eating the best I ever have. Oatmeal, bananas, avocados, chicken breast, beans. I have cut out most fast food but I still splurge from time to time. As far as vitamins go, if I dont eat enough fruits, vegetables and whole grains the day before, Ill take 1 multi vitamin that next day. If I do eat all of those things, I dont take one. If Im getting what I need nutrient wise, why add it artificially as well. 2. I am sleeping at least 4 sleep cycles per night and usually 5. That translates to 6-7.5 hours of sleep. Sleep is mostly sound and uneventful. If I drink a bunch of water closer to bed, Ill most likely get up in the middle of the night and sometimes it can be hard to go back to bed. So I avoid late night drinks as much as possible. 3. I dont drink or smoke and havent done either in a long long time. I may have a glass of wine every 6 months with my wife but she knows I dont do those things and there are no issues. Its been that way for about 20 years now. 4. I meditate and work out as much as I can. This one is still a work in progress but Im trying to improve on both. This would include stretching and cardio. And just being outside for my morning coffee and relaxing for about 30 minutes each morning. 5. I walk my dog at least twice a day for about 30 minutes a go. And while Im out with him, each morning I ask myself "why am I happy today" and then I go about listing everything that I am happy about whether its days off from work, my good health, my family's good health, Texas finally being good again, my wife and I getting along, my morning coffee and breakfast choice etc. I list about 8-10 things a day I am happy about for that day. 6. I keep my stress levels super low if at all possible which for the most part are about 10% of where they used to be which leads to and is because of my next thing.... 7. I work part time now and most of that is for living longer and creating less stress in my life. It has helped more than I ever thought possible. 8. I read a book every day I am not working and have specific goals in my life which keep me motivated such as learning spanish and making a video game. I am a goal oriented person and I feel having goals later in life are important and are most overlooked by people when it comes to happiness and living longer. 9. I will be getting yearly full body MRIs here in dallas moving forward at the cost of about 2500 a year to minimize cancer risks. (yes I know. Its a little crazy but I see no downsides except cost.) Specifically for the shitty cancers like pancreatic which 1 relative died from. 10. There have been a couple of studies now showing people age at a faster pace at specific years in their lives. Both studies have shown cells degrade faster at ages 44, 60 and 75. You can probably extrapolate that out to 90 too. Therefore, Im taking those upcoming years off work and stress wise. I will be acutely aware of those years and plan to really focus on my body and mind, almost to a fault. All of this to say, while I cant eliminate getting cancer, getting hit by a bus, having a heart attack etc, I can certainly minimize those chances and that is what I have been doing and what I will continue to do. I am actively working to live as long as I can and be as healthy as I can. Its not bad at all actually. Working part time I will tell you helps the most as I sleep better because of it, eat better because of it, have less stress because of it, and it all ends in a positive snowball effect for me.

This game feels more like Arkansas than Florida. Like 13-9 with 11 minutes to go in the 4th. Hope I'm wrong but until Quinn shows more these are the types of games we will see against defenses with a pulse.

From what I have read the fda has never been sued after taking a drug off the shortage list. It's all about money now, not an actual shortage. I'll be interested to see how this all plays out.

As for the other questions, yes Im here in Texas. And for the illegality, their "lawyers" say its perfectly fine to continue making it so they have their own world they live in. The reality is it's not. They are just making 10s of thousands a day in cash off all the Southlake moms who want to lose those last 10 pounds and they dont want to stop their cash cow. Otherwise I would open my own compounding pharmacy and take every drug on the market, add a vitamin to it and sell it at a fraction of the cost. At best its unethical. I know it's wrong. Oh well.

I was really hoping for some responses like this

For those that dont know, I am a pharmacist currently working for a small independent infusion pharmacy. I work 2 shifts a week and we have a second pharmacist, who works the other 3. We also have a full time pharmacist in charge. For the last year, we have been compounding both semaglutide and tirzepatide and the pharmacy has been making money hand over fist. Last month, tirzepatide went off the FDA shortage list and the FDA issued guidance for all compounding pharmacies to immediately stop production. The FDA was later sued by the Compounders Association and an injunction was granted. I believe the FDA will issue a statement sometime this month on the matter. So with that out of the way... When we found out last month about tirzepatide coming off the shortage list, the other part time pharmacist and I independently researched what an "an essential copy" of a brand named drug was and decided our B12 + tirzepatide was just that. A copy. While tirzepatide was on the shortage list, it was fine to make, but after it went off, we told our manager and the owner we could not in good faith continue to check those meds. The owner and the pharmacist in charge said our compounded drug was different enough so that it was not an essential copy but we let them know our intentions. This was on October 9th. At the time I told our other part time pharmacist to email himself a memo of record stating that we could not in good faith check this med as we basically believed it to be illegal to do so, that we researched the FDA guidance and that we were both in good standing at our pharmacy with no write ups etc. Fast forward to last week. I learned they are going to fire the other part time pharmacist tomorrow and that they hired a full time pharmacist to replace him. I learned this new pharmacist gave a months notice at her work so they basically interviewed and hired this pharmacist within 1 week of me and the other pharmacist stating we would not check the medication moving forward. They also informed me I would be initially working 4 days a week for 2 weeks to train the new pharmacist and then I would only work 1 day a week after that. They said they are hoping to grow but that they would re-evaluate my status in the future. The owner also made a strange comment to me at the time saying that they decided not to fire me. Basically I believe I will be training my replacement for 2 weeks and then they will let me go (soon) after they feel the other pharmacist can handle the work and after they determine they did not grow as anticipated. I think the writing is on the wall. It has also been miserable there since we told them last month of our decision and I really dont care to be there. The only thing is the pharmacist they hired AND the pharmacist in charge have exactly 0 experience in home infusion and let me tell you, it takes a while to learn this nook of pharmacy. My questions are 1. are there any lawyers who specialize in this? 2. is there a case for wrongful termination and if so is it worth pursuing? For me its not a huge deal but I feel really bad for the other pharmacist as his wife just lost her job and they are having some issues with their kids mental health. This is going to be horrible for him.

What a fucking dumbass. Holy shit

That isn't the same Kirby who coached against us. God teams love to get up for Texas.
-
Dart pulling a Jay cutler. Game is over. Georgia will be more aggressive now.

I spoke to our pharmacist who oversees our infusion business remotely. She is 76 and lives in NC. She said she stayed up on election night until 3am, she normally goes to bed at 9, because for her it was the most important election of our lifetime. She is a conservative but she always makes the caveat she is not a Trumper when she talks to me. And holy hell is she passionate about it. 2 worlds, both entrenched and diametrically opposed in their beliefs.

Yup. It's common sense. You overestimate our electorate.

Im sorry but this is true. From the data I looked up its a 70/30 split among the US that trans women should not be allowed to compete in girls sports and especially if done after puberty. Im fine with how anyone wans to live their life but its common sense to me there are huge physical advantages for former men competing against women. That wont go away and Im sure had some effect on voters. Hell it was the only ad I saw in Texas. Republicans arent stupid. They see the data as well. It's low hanging fruit. Its all unfortunate.

I woke up at 430 this morning and opened my phone to a result I already knew. I've been through a gamut of emotions since then including anger, disgust, and condescension. 3 hours later I've come to the conclusion I'm going to continue to help and fight the good fight. I think we will be ok. Inflation was the driver and I don't think we are ready as a country for certain things....like equality. Hopefully soon.
-
But not fluoride
-
Inflation was caused by covid, the subsequent 4 trillion dollar stimulus, and supply constraints. How many people in our country believe that?

Please keep posting results here as well. I dont want to go back and forth between the 2 threads. I prefer just the one. Also, every network is a beating. I much prefer just refreshing the thread here

Just like in the game threads if we don't score a touchdown on our first series....I'm out. I'll check back in a couple hours. Fuck this shit. People are as stupid as I thought they were

Its ok to feel that way. I do. Unfortunately that's how most people learn but usually its on their deathbed after they have been shitty people their entire lives, voted for horrible policies and candidates and/or influenced thousands if not millions of people to do the same. See dead Koch brother. -
