  1. When I watch the game with my wife, I have to keep an eye on one of our dogs when my wife starts yelling at the TV. The 6 year old sweetest-lab-mix-in-the-world does not like it when Mama ain't happy.
  2. I cooked some up tonight. Man, am I ever pleased with how these turned out. Good snap and great texture.
  3. Earzup! podcast is good too (or at least the people that run it were good ona beer podcast I used to follow.
  4. This reminds me of what could have been. When my kids were "Disney aged," and I was planning our vacation, I asked, do you want to go to Disney World or do you want to go skiing. They always said "Skiing!" They are now 20 and 16, have never been to Disney, and are good snow skiers. My poor brother in law has been to Disney well over a dozen times by my estimate. It's become a bit of a tradition for his family, poor guy.
  5. Valde molestum est tantum strepitum et tam parvam cupiditatem consistendi et de rebus critice cogitandi. It's no "E pluribus unum," but it fits.
  6. This pretty well sums up my feelings about society.
  7. Lovely stock, etc.
  8. Are the latter going up at the same time, or will that be a later announcement?

  10. It's like that summer camp movie. The bones didn't get bigger. The meat got smaller. /I saw that movie on Great Value Cinemax. I didn't notice any ribs.
  11. Like I said, I recanted. But as someone mentioned above, consistency (and excellence) are kings in 2025. A mediocre meal at any known joint in Texas 12 years ago would have been on par with amazing.
  12. Hard flashback for me just now watching that. Fuuuuuck!
  13. Like weak, stupid, malfunctioning, and shit fallin' off on a man? Or just ugly? /edit: And by ugly, I mean, no aliby, U.G.L.Y. I'd rather bang a Pontiac Aztec. //I mean I'd rather bang a Pontiac Aztec than look at a Cybertruck
  14. Old post, but it just prompted a text to my sister who lives near and shops at Trader Joe's saying pick this up for me, please and thank you. Our lives are in your hands, Dude.
  15. I keep thinking we're not far off from one of these towns (glass houses) renaming a school FJB and citing the L.E.E. example as its explanation. Fingers crossed I didn't will that into existence against my will.
  16. At first I was like haha. Then, I was like, oh, probably. I can't imagine at least 35% of this country (optimistically) being down for some neurolink.
  17. I think this is Just The Tip of the iceberg.
  18. Is that Starlink or Neurolink. I can't keep up.
  19. There are You People, Those People, and, then, there's maga. Also, there is no Dana, only Zool.
  20. Needs blue bantha-milk.
  21. Hairy Pawter
  22. Well, they fought against the name change and lost, but your point is correct and the historical analogy is delicious. Also, I should correct my statement above that the School Board president is Latino. Licea defeated the previous school board president, who had been on the board for the past ten years in a contested election. Another board member, the only one who voted against the name change originally, was defeated in a contested election as well. She had been on the board for eleven years.
  23. Did Tyler change the name of its high schools back? I'm pretty sure it didn't since my younger son is a junior at Legacy. I think I might have heard something? I mean, when I started this thread about Tyler actually doing something good for once, how was I to predict that Midland's problems would be dumped into the thread and people would just assume the two towns were acting in concert given their proximity (that's a joke). It's okay. There's plenty to hate about the racist assholes in Tyler. There are plenty. But my guess is that the school board and its newly-elected, Latino president, want to not go through that again in reverse. I hope I'm right.
