  1. Well, for a little background, by the time I was at UT in the fall of 92, I listened to an absurd amount of Soulhat, a long with Blues Traveler and similar music. So Blind Melon fits that vibe, rather than the Nirvana, et al style of music, grunge or whatever I listened to a lot in high school. That was my 90s, and so Blind Melon fits that mold for me.
  2. Candy-O is my favorite. A good friend got me to buy the vinyl of it last year, and after one listen, I bought two more Cars albums. I'm still hooked. I love missing out on something on the first run and getting to discover it for myself later in life. I wish that sort of thing happened more often.
  3. Maybe it's because I was in high school/college in the early 90s. But, to me, that Blind Melon album sounds super-90s. That's not to say I don't like it. But the rhythm section gives me that early Blues Traveler vibe.
  4. For what it's worth, I own a 1999 PRS HBII. But the hate for that headstock on this thread from others is real.
  5. Okay, Paul.
  6. I saw him with the Flaming Lips backing him at Will Rogers Auditorium in Fort Worth and it was incredible. String Cheese Incident at the Backyard in Austin (2001). Utterly boring show. Then some girl got nabbed by the cops and started freaking out and screaming. My buddy and I looked at each other and decided to bounce. Honorable Mention: Rush at the Summit (1992). I entered the venue a casual fan and left never wanting to listen to them again. Absolutely nothing exciting about seeing them live. Felt like listening to the album with a relatively mediocre light show. But the worst part was being surrounded by all the Rush fans.
  7. Probably Candy-O, as well.
  8. I use public toilets and I piss on the seat. I walk around in the summertime, sayin', How about this heat!

I may be misremembering, but I think he adds them to non-seafood stocks for some "extra."

I adopted your soy sauce addition in addition to a Worcestershire sauce addition. I even drop a tsp of Red Boat fish sauce in at the end if I have some handy. Lots of layers of flavor.
  11. This one turned out well.
  12. Your taun-tuan will freeze before you reach Woody's in Centerville.

I'm betting it takes a while to loosen up the meat on a Greenberg Turkey. On the crab claws, it sounds a bit like @Brisketexan's putting shrimp shells in his stock for a little sumthin-sumthin.
  14. Coil splitting (out of phase), maybe?
  15. I've been biding my time and waiting for the opportunity to drop that in. No need. Well done.
  16. Username checks out.
  17. Someone at CBS in 1967 before unveiling the Silverface Amp Line. Also, I'll take a black Strat with a rosewood board any day. My son's '89 Standard:
  18. Imagine walking in there and saying your name is "Brisketexan."
  19. I liked it, but it was kind of a let down to get through the opener, and it's over. I get that there's no point to recreating anything after that, but it was a lot of build up for a tickle and a squirt.
  20. Hit up Stiles Switch for lunch on our way out of town. No line to speak of, and everything slammed.
  21. Fill it out. We are.
  22. Why would they put a wall at the end of a runway? /somewhat sarcastically
  23. I've had more disappointment since I started going for the enchilada plate at Mexican restaurants. Inconsistent for sure. More often than not, around here, it's a traditional Mexican enchilada plate, which is fine, bit if they have a Tex-Mex option, the chili/carne topper is a weak spot, and I'm left wishing I'd ordered the traditional version.
  24. Excuse me good sir. I am from an opposing fan base. Pray tell, how do I get to the stadium from here?
