  1. I suspect a big-feet fetish.
  2. Unless the brother-in-law is sitting in the corner watching and Brisket doesn't want to upset him (because let's face it, he's waiting his turn).
  3. I think it's just too early. Mine shows none. And because I live in the eastern block of the state, I'm reasonably sure that the people turning the screws in Austin are not trying to prevent people around here from getting to the polls.
  4. Well, I was make a Call Me Al reference. But the real story is a whole lot more interesting and is a testament to what otherwise-seemingly-reasonable people will endury to close the deal. This is the true Art of the Deal.
  5. Trump never updated from T9-Word
  6. I imagine a Paul Simon tune was the soundtrack to this awkwardly-successful encounter.
  7. It's basically McDonald's, spray tans, and collagen injections, but you pay for it with Trump-bucks.
  8. I didn't say she was awesome. I said she isn't dumb. She was a shil for the right for far too long to be sure. But if she's written a bunch of pro-Trump drivel, I haven't seen it. But I don't tend to read conservative clippings.
  9. Much of what Peggy Noonan wrote above is sensible, well-written, and accurate. But by the end, she falls into the trap of many of my now-Democrat-supporting friends (former, moderate republicans), who want to discuss comparative policy when republicans haven't run on policy in years (although Project 2025 is their policy, Trump's campaign is disavowing it . . . unless he somehow wins). Donald Trump is not a serious candidate; he is a serious threat. Peggy isn't dumb by any means. She's just longing for civil discourse, which hasn't existed in some time.
  10. My mom's house lost power for 3 weeks after Ike. Ike blew. /edit: I did not see what page we were on. Conversation understandably has moved on. Sorry about that
  11. This should tell people all they need to know.
  12. Translation: he reached out to the Trump campaign to get paid in some capacity or otherwise get in on the grift, and they told him to go get his shine box.
  13. I had to look it up, but 2001 to be exact, after the failed "Weiner's Plus" branding. Definitely made a few trips there back in my childhood days.
  14. "We're weird enough." For a while, it was fine. Then Rogan and Elmo came to Austin. Then it got a bit too weird. No mas weird.
  15. It might backfire. And I hear the corporation that stole that phrase from the guy who made the bumper stickers can be a bit litigious. edit: Well, I'll be perusing Amazon for a bit. Lots of merch to sift through. Not sure if this one is edible
  16. Let's hope they don't co-opt the Keep Austin Weird thing. They won't, of course. But the only defense to "weird" is to lean into it, and they can't fathom doing that.
  17. Kamala's already bringing Americans together!
  18. Sorry about your mom. Cancer sucks.
  19. Isn't the whole goal of a NASA to see how high they can get?
  20. I don't know. I have a friend from high school carved out a niche for herself years ago as "The MJ Lawyer." She helped a lot of shops get set up in CO, then moved back to Texas and is working hard in support of the hemp industry. She speculated that once Texas was surrounded by legal states (including Mexico), it would fall. But that hasn't happened from a recreational perspective. They fought like hell last time. This amendment isn't the sort that is wildly popular for a variety of reasons, even with Rs.
