  1. I'm offering good money that it's beer. And let's be honest, smoke, beer, and other things emanating from touring musicians which get absorbed into speaker cones are one of the reasons old speakers sound monumentally better than a broken-in new speaker, particularly the smoke. Because smoke is the common denominator additive in about 95% of the speakers that survived the 20th Century.
  2. As much as I'd like to see him punished for this and a litany of other shitty things, after more than two decades of working for the judiciary, I can say with great confidence that judges do not consider themselves "court staff." They are the court; they are not the staff.
  3. Love this video of them listening to the rough mix of Wild Horses.
  4. Trump was the perfect storm. And enough republicans will act like they were against him all along when the next guy tries to invoke his name. It won't get the idiots excited like Trump somehow did. The party types and usual voters still will vote lock-step along party lines, but the fringe types that Trump brought out of the shadows aren't, if I"m right (and I hope I am) going to show up for the next guy, even if his last name happens to be Trump.
  5. There are lots of great SK quotes. Here is my favorite, from my favorite book: “For a moment everything was clear, and when that happens you see that the world is barely there at all. Don't we all secretly know this? It's a perfectly balanced mechanism of shouts and echoes pretending to be wheels and cogs, a dreamclock chiming beneath a mystery-glass we call life. Behind it? Below it and around it? Chaos, storms. Men with hammers, men with knives, men with guns. Women who twist what they cannot dominate and belittle what they cannot understand. A universe of horror and loss surrounding a single lighted stage where mortals dance in defiance of the dark.” ― Stephen King, 11/22/63
  6. I've considered it. But I don't love the idea of heaving the heating element right under the brisket. The BBQ forum guys like them though. So there's that. But the idea of something a little bigger for holidays and large gatherings seems like it would be great.
  7. This thread has me looking at these $300 electric food warmers on Amazon. I'm thinking that a pan of water on the bottom rack would keep things pretty even on the other three racks. The price is really tempting. The warm setting on my oven is great. Rock solid at 145. But the shutting off after 3 hours is not ideal. It'd be great for the holidays too. Link
  8. I was thinking about it a bit. It's almost like the aggy roller coaster. Sometimes, they have to win a little, get their hopes up, then their revisiting inevitable defeat is that much sweeter. The never defeated, just ran out of time thing fits well here too, as does his affinity for things that happened in 1939. TLDR; Trump is aggy
  9. Preheat the cooler by putting a container of near boiling water in there for 10 minutes or so. After the briskets rest, wrap them (and the paper) tightly in foil. Don't just put a towel over them. Put as many towels (loosely) over them to fill the airspace between the food and the cooler lid. edit: Anastasis covered it. I posted before reading his post.
  10. I think rice is added to the filling to keep it from being runny.
  11. Think of this post as the trailer for the meal I may have as a main course alternative for Easter. This is either going to be incredibly average or last-meal worthy. Saw it on the internet today. Gumbo Pot Pie. Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
  12. He's just waiting for his ремни для ботинок.
