Oh yeah, fuck Cuomo. The racist shit that his campaign was putting out over the last week was absolutely disgusting.
Also, Bill Ackman, fuck that guy too.
Not all of those are as straightforward. I voted no on 2-4 because it gives the mayor A LOT of power. Eric Adams proposed those in bad faith, and that was what drove my no.
Times Square Edition has some decent rates in December. Sub 700 a night. For December, that is good. The New York Edition is clocking in at about 1100 a night. If you are going big brand, I think Edition hotels are one of the best.
The W Union Square has reopened, and it looks really cool.
Chelsea Hotel is a great hotel, with a lot of history.
I think the best stay I have ever had was at the Plaza.
A number of large hotels went out of business during COVID, and NYC has not replaced those rooms. That is, I imagine, some of the pressure. Idiots.
Ok, so Lyon for 6 nights. Burgundy for 5 nights. I do not like to move around, so trying to pick between Dijon and Beaune as my center in Burgundy. Leaning towards Dijon as it is larger, but anyone have any other opinions?
First of the professional women have just come through. This is mile 16 and they started at 8:35 so they are at a sub 5 and a half minute mile. Holy shit.
The cheers from the marathon are starting to filter through my window. The elite wheelchairs are hitting the turn up 1st Avenue. I have clear line of sight to them on the Queensborough and coming off the bridge without even leaving my apartment, but Harvey and I might go down there once the regular runners start coming through.
