  1. “The co-worker told police that Olalde said “he had killed his family because they were cannibals, and they were going to eat him,” the affidavit states.” Guess this counts because it reached the magic number of four. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/east-texas-teenager-charged-with-murder-in-killings-of-parents-and-siblings/ar-AA1bG418
  2. Well, the people we elected voted for impeachment so it’s a push.
  3. Looks like ever Collin County Rep voted aye. Denton County one was P and the rest aye. Even Jarrod Patterson voted aye.
  4. Apparently she spent ample time this week surfing Porn sites. She’s just like me!
  5. Have only spent a little time on a mid drive on off road paved trails. Was nice and the torque sensor was pretty smooth vs a cadence sensor like on most hub drives. It was underpowered though. 250 watt. Have done a few hundred miles on a hub drive in urban environment. Love the throttle in this environment. Use it to zip through intersections or navigating tricky sections. Correct there are +/- to each drive. Mid drive puts a lot of strain on the drivetrain, chain and cogs, and if you break a chain it’s pedal only. Sucks on a heavy e-bike. Hub drives are heavy and you need to keep your spokes tensioned correctly but mid electronics are usually more sophisticated.
  6. Yeah. Also fun seeing all the CenTex locations. Wylie is “too modern.” https://www.atlasofwonders.com/2023/04/where-was-love-and-death-filmed.html

    RIP Andy Rourke

Yeah. A favorite band at one of my favorite venues on my birthday. I was mesmerized by Johnny Marr while everyone else was watching Morrissey.
  8. This kinda surprised me. No safety or emissions inspections-12 States Annual safety and emissions inspections-9 States including Texas(some are for more populated communities only) I know when I first moved to Collin County there were no emissions inspections. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_inspection_in_the_United_States

    RIP Andy Rourke

Now I feel fortunate to have been there.
  10. Speaking of…anybody else watch this? Pretty good volcano documentary. https://films.nationalgeographic.com/fire-of-love
  11. I would have liked some more from The Blind Leading the Naked. I think “ I Held Her in My Arms”was the only one.
  12. Two snares and brushes mostly. Also a Weber and a wood box.
  13. I think Brian Ritchie is pretty talented bassist. Assuming he was using an Ernie Ball Earthwood most of the time. Tone on that thing is sweet.
  14. Never been to a concert at the AAC. Saw them twice at Reunion(underrated as a music venue IMHO) and they were outstanding. Haven’t been to Starplex in ages but from my experience, if you were somewhere between the stage and the soundboard it sounded good. If you were between the soundboard and the lawn the sound got muddy.
  15. Can’t remember the last time I heard this, but then heard it playing playing softly in the background of Bullet strain. I suddenly flashed back to reclining in the back seat of my folk’s ‘74 Dodge Coronet as they were sipping Jax beers at Ann’s Drive Inn on State Line Blvd. It sounded so plaintive, yet soothing and stuck somewhere in the back of my tiny brain. So, here is a Spanish language cover of a loosely translated English language cover of a 1963 Japanese language smash hit. Selena-Sukiyaki
  16. Didn’t they move it to Starplex because of the Stars playoffs?
  17. Chicago has around 2.7 million population. According to their Chamber they had 30.7 million foreign and domestic visitors in 2021. The amount of people not murdered there is pretty impressive!
  18. Jesus Fucking Christ WTF?
  19. Saw one of those sitting on the edge of a pond while we were walking the dogs this morning. Figured it was some kind of Heron. Beautiful bird.
