  1. lol @ BurntOrange&White really taking this loss personal.
  2. Paul is going to wind up being worth like $500mm before his first loss and end at like 7-1, on a gradual run up of fighting better and better people. This kid is laughing all the way to the bank and freeing himself from the shackles of the beast that is content-creation and YouTube/viewership monetization in the ABE. This is a fantastic read: https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/32091828/is-jake-paul-bad-boxing-next-question
  3. You love to see it. 4-0. I mean, it's funny but also, not Jake Paul's fault. Beat him if you want to shut him up. #GotYourHat
  4. Round 3: Best round so far for Paul. He got to Woodley with an uppercut-left hand combination, plus a body shot and left hook earlier in the round. Woodley landed a right hand at the bell. Paul 10-9; 29-28 Paul. I'm behind, don't spoil it!
  5. Huge Jake Paul fan checking in. Let's go.
  6. I believe the preferred nomenclature has always been “Jewish Lightning”.
  7. All of this. I’ll add that the technological warp speed advancement from the late 90’s to now has also changed the game. We went from a model where you could monetize the AP wire by printing facts that everyone could more or less trust (your business model was information because collated information was hard to do and it was scarce), to now a model where you need clicks and views, so the pure play news is all but gone. Everybody has an angle or hook or agenda to differentiate in the attention based economy. This has eroded the stalwarts of trust in the news and public intellectualism. It’s a perversion on all fronts, really.
  8. I wasn’t born there and only married into SoCal GenX royalty, but apparently if you were anywhere in SoCal, you know this song even to this day.
  9. If I play this song at an 11 of 10, and I think back on all those wild animals I ran with who are dead of overdose or misadventure or spending their lives in jail, I can get caught up in the emotions of brotherhood and a short, nasty, brutish life:
  10. Surprised to see the meh takes on Raya. Usually people over-rotate on Disney/Pixar versus rounding down. We love Raya and have seen it multiple times, much more than any other Disney+ release. I think it must be a perfect Tween-Aged movie. Not too baby-ish feeling or with songs and not too dark or scary either as there is still quite a bit of cute and cuddly/friendly (the baby, the tuck tuck thing, the monkeys)
  11. My man Joe Biden and I have the same energy on this and I’m here for it. His response and words-then-actions have shown a lot of mettle and integrity and EQ. This doesn’t sound like a man who is “acting” mad or upset because that’s what a President oughta feel and do: Hours before drone strike, US said Biden doesn't want Kabul attackers to 'live on earth anymore' US President Joe Biden had earlier to vowed to hunt down the perpetrators of the suicide bombing outside Kabul airport that killed dozens of Afghans and 13 US Marines.
  12. I was happy to see we drone striked (struck?) today. I liked the 48 hour type response.
  13. I went to a Speakeasy in a strip mall in Frisco last night, so this thread hits close to home and I resemble all the mafia leaders a little bit, I think.
  14. Yes. Yes. This episode was Ted Lasso finding it’s way back. Best episode or the season by a country mile. Brought back the Season 1 magic. If we just pretend the awful Christmas show doesn’t exist, we are in business.
  15. What exactly are you doing on this thread or wishing to accomplish? You don't seem to be contributing much of anything in good faith.
  16. I'm fine with waiting until after the 8/31 deadline or whatever the deadline pushes to, before diverting the attention from retreat to bombing training camps or smart bombing homes where ISIS is meeting.
  17. Nah, I didn't say any of that. I would like to see a significant and quick retaliation. That is all. Not re-entrenchment or boots on the ground. Bomb the crap out of the would-be's in shock and awe. The key here is to respond swiftly (read: not 6 months from now as someone mentioned). As I've said, it's making a statement and we are rewarding the activity, more than the result. To do otherwise is to enhance a moral hazard, is and has been my suggestion. I stand with Joe Biden on this one.
  18. It continues to blow my mind that some of you people are so robotic and binary. I'm a human being and that means that sometimes my beliefs and values and interests conflict. In this case I thought Joe Biden was awesome for his words last night. Which also isn't all that incongruent. Also it's hilarious you think you painted me into a corner because you asked a question and then I answered it and that was literally it.
  19. Depends on your expectations and goals, I guess. If you are implying success is defined as having a 100 NPS score with all the civilized nations of the world and no enemies taking stands or arms against us in the various theatres we operate in, then it's a fools errand. How do you define working out for us? In what terms? I'll answer the question from my point of view instead of just asking you (in the hopes you will actually answer) I would think a balanced scorecard to measure success is to have an exercise that might look somewhat like the following: Have your top people gather all the data Interpret and model out the data Forecast what you project the status quo would look like How many deaths of Americans via enemies? How many attacks on Americans via enemies? Attacks on American soil? Impact on economic factors via enemies (GDP impact) Whatever other metrics you want to define, etc. et al. Formulate your strategy Set goals for what you want your strategy to accomplish Execute on your strategy Measure the YoY delta Determine if it's "working out for us", as you say.
