  1. Just say you don't know anything about it instead of lying.
  2. I guess I'm an airline snob because a) I would never fly Spirit or Frontier as an adult with an actual job that pays me money. Those flights are full of either students/young rowdy people or people who never travel and don't have any travel etiquette or training, and the experience is like riding on a city bus for a few hours and b) I never fly SWA because I fly enough to routinely get upgraded to First Class and usually use accumulated points for international travel. Give me Group 1 or 2 boarding or nothing.
  3. Like you could even know that! Kingwood is cool, y'all are trolling me and getting my goat.
  4. No way. Kingwood rules.
  5. No it's not. Kingwood is awesome.
  6. I honestly 100% know that I could not get into UT if I was a senior in H.S. now. The 90's were a more welcoming time, in that respect. It seems like just in how difficult getting into UT is these days and the candidate profiles that get in, if nothing were changed from the 90's to today you'd necessarily have to have a more diverse landscape of Greek culture because the student body isn't the same average Joe Sixpack from Plano or whatever. It's also become less about the social experience it sounds like and more of a place to learn and empower yourself for a career. I don't think it was like that when I was there (but maybe it was and I was in a bubble), but I 100% know that I would not have gone to UT if I was going to college just to learn and get a degree and get a job. The social aspect and town (not being native to Austin) was like 90% of the appeal, as I was not interested in getting away from my hometown and better myself or a first generation student or whatever. I would say that if you want to get a better view of if the Greek system and race has materially changed for the better over time, don't look at UT today versus then. Look at what is the 2021 version of the 90's UT; a good state school where you can be a non-nerd and drink 5 years to a degree? Like Arky or Bama or Ole Miss or Okie State?
  7. I am not going back to the Caribbean Night at AEPi!
  8. Were those the guys and gals that would dress up in pinks and greens and play croquet in the front yard a couple of times a year or was that the Christian fraternity?
  9. Maybe the most timelessly true and introspective and wise thing you've ever said on this site.
  10. I just feel like what the OP said, it's probably pretty foolish in an era of interconnectivity where foolishness led by groupthink and drink/drugs can (and usually does) lead to problematic behavior in young men still mentally developing. Lots of chances for unforced errors that can torpedo you or hinder your career/personal brand right out of the gate. IMO. That said, I don't regret one raging second, but it was a different time.
  11. Was a hardcore frat daddy back in the day; probably would not be in one if I were to be a freshman in 2022 and, while I won't forbid my son to be in one if he so chooses, I won't advocate for it these days.
  12. I disagree with you. I agree with Smokey around the political value but you seem to be pointing to something else. Its like I’d tell my kids, don’t compare yourself to the peckerwood in the neighborhood and think you’ve done a good job. Compare yourself to the expectations ive set for you. Be better, as I believe woke Twitter likes to say.
  13. So I’m hearing that defense of Biden, in the good bad and ugly, is a defensive maneuver against the right wings that want to tear Biden down or erode his brand and reputation, for political reasons. That makes sense. Politics is a war zone with two competing armies in 2021.
  14. I don’t get the drift. Anastasis is clearly smarter than me, he’s a pharmacology professional, etc. and I’m just a dumb business guy, but not sure what trying to make me fee inferior to him means in this context. Maybe you’ll have to spell it out for me.
  15. Why does everything have to be measured and benchmarked against Trump? Is it because when benchmarked against “satisfactory”, it doesn’t clear the mark? So then one must resort to “but it’s miles better and different than what the flunkie was doing!” I saw this a lot with the border stuff too with the detainees. Is it a thin defense because it’s your team? Is it because GQP is yelling “hypocrite” or “samesies!” every time Biden does something politically mediocre or both?
  16. Is it crazy or illegal to do this (asking because it's financed conventionally, not cash bought): 1) Enter into a contract to buy a house when the prices were lower, builder was providing concessions, and lumber/supply chain issues were a blip 2) Finalize/Close on house after it's built, in the middle of housing and material shortage chaos 3) Don't even move into the house but flip it immediately for $100k+ profit Asking for multiple friends
  17. This is why I put $100 pre-order in on the new Ford Lightning. Like 99,999 other schmoes: https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2021/06/10/ford-f-150-lightning-electric-demand-reservation-orders/7633277002/
  18. and depth. I have a buddy who can't fit his customized half ton truck in the garage because it's too short. He had to hire someone to extend the garage at the expense of the mudroom. Standard is too small. Also be aware of your water heater; had another buddy try to do this but couldn't extend because his water heater was there. Great example of where going tankless would have helped as well.
  19. yea sorry if I wasn't clear, i was responding to the previous couple of posts that were talking about the chicken shortage. As an aside and shifting gears: You'll notice that only bone-in chicken wings are hit. That's because boneless wings are NOT REAL! They are the fake news of chicken, a soft, processed, weird production of chicken (and I know, Pluckers boneless are more like tenders from the breast, but generally speaking). Bone-in for men. Ladies and children have fun with the boneless. That's a hill I will die on.
  20. My go-to pre-Covid at DFW: I would always get to the airport 20 minutes early for lunch/dinner because I would always enter in Terminal A, gates 16/17 area where the Precheck is. Walk down to A16 and hit up Salt Lick BBQ; because I was expensing my meal I went a la carte eschewing the meals. Was always around $35-40 bucks, but it was good. Then because you are there at A16 you can take the escalator up to the skylink that is adjacent to the Salt Lick seating and go to other terminals. 80% of the time my flight was leaving out of Terminal A anyways.
  21. Just got an email from Pluckers; raising prices $2
