  1. Saw it at the Varsity on the Drag when it came out. Will go see it again, have the original vinyl and expanded CD releases.
  2. Yes I did, day drinking and all.... Mr. Virgil of course... Found it btw...
  3. Also this Edit to add: my wife is a huge Braves fan due to WTBS, used to keep a notebook with stats on all the players (she's a keeper, and a redhead, so I got that going for me...). Have an Ozzie Guillen autograph stuck somewhere in our house from around 86 or so when we went to go see the Braves play the Stros in the Dome (got to chat with Pops Stargell during batting practice, that was cool...)
  4. Talk about somebody having their own guitar sound. I remember this coming out in the early 80's, right about the same time George Thorogood started getting some airplay, lotta great slide blues on the radio at that time. And of course, goes without saying..
  5. The other one was pretty cool too, and he was banging Shirley Jones, so he had that going for him.
  6. Wow, didn't know it was still open, played out there many moons ago. What is that in the background, looks good.
  7. I live in Taylor. 40 minutes vs 15... Not that I mind driving, almost went to the Roadhouse in Paige, which is a good 35 minutes away, they have great burgers (the one in Bastrop also...)
  8. I think that is Miller's up in Lott. Was always kind of astounded, whenever my polka band would play up at Seaton Star Hall a family of Mennonites would always come out.
  9. Was halfway to the Oscar Store last night when the wife says, "I heard Schroeder's in Thorndale has good burgers..." Now you tell me this? Would have taken half the time to get there. Oh well, for another day. Still had a damn fine burger.
  10. Compare 2:17, from 1984, studio recording: to 2:32, from 2000 (there's a reason they use a far-away crowd shot...) Hell, he was doing it during the 1984-5 Pros and Cons tour, need to go back to my bootlegs and listen again but there are probably parts of the original 79-80 Wall shows that were synched.
  11. I watch Game Show Network every once in a while, his goddam CDB commercials are on there every 15 minutes it seems like...
  12. No power here in Taylor since 10:30. Drove around some at lunchtime, every single house we saw had tree damage, saw oak trees split open like demogorgons. Now, drizzling heavy, watched three houses on our block lose 20 foot plus branches within two minutes, as Supertramp said, things are very very bad, they will get much much worse.
  13. Very underrated track, relatively unknown since it only came out on an EP and then on a couple of greatest hits comps.
  14. Pretty damn solid 1-2 punch to kick off that album as well...
  15. Already lost power 5 times here in Taylor. In about 20 minutes. Power's on now, 15 min so far, we'll see how long that lasts. At least ERCOT is right down the street, I can go bang on the front door or at least leave a sternly-worded letter...
  16. Yeah, back in high school (early 80s) there was a cover band in our area that played all the current hits, but they would always end their dances with either "China Grove" (that would be good add to the list too) or "Never Been Any Reason".
  17. Green Grass and High Tides - Outlaws Never Been Any Reason - Head East Don't Misunderstand Me - Rossington Collins Band Nicole - Point Blank
  18. In your OWN home? Is that the law says? Good. Good good.
  19. Saw the Eagles (I know man... Christmas present from our son to my wife, her bucket list band...) from the 200s, felt plenty close to the stage and sound was impeccable.
