  1. BTW, the movie was originally released in 1972, without the in-studio footage. Once DSOTM became huge, they re-released the film, but the director wanted to capitalize on the hit record, so the band went into the studio and re-created themselves recording DSOTM, all that footage was shot after the album had already been released.
  2. So, I was reading on Yeeshkul about some after-show gigs that Dave and some of the other touring members of the 87-88 Floyd did as a group called The Fishermen. Supposedly they jammed in 1988 in Australia with one of Dave's heroes and main influences, Roy Buchanan. I've heard the name before, but never bothered to check any of his stuff out. Based on the recommendation of someone on that thread, I went to youtube. Wow, I am now a fan. Gonna go see what all is on Spotify, but this one here has a definite Floyd feel to it, and recorded basically the same time as Animals. I can surely hear some Dave-souding licks in here.
  3. Yeah, I was reading about that, it's actually CNN headquarters now.
  4. Oh Gilligan, you've done it again...
  5. watched this every Saturday...
  6. I didn't even bother looking for this yesterday, because it's been pulled off youtube so many times. I still remember being 10 years old, staying up late and watching this.
  7. Assuming there's a decent quality frank inside of each of those, sure, I'd give it a shot.
  8. I almost posted Old Brown Shoe. Really hoping that it gets a fresh remix on the Let It Be box set, never understood why the vocals were so buried. BTW, George plays bass on that one as well. This is a George solo record basically (give the Wonderwall soundtrack a listen sometime, very similar stuff on there), I've always liked it, very complex.
  9. Yeah, that's the bonus disc from the immersion set that came out a few years ago. Interesting.
  10. Anybody post over on the Steve Hoffman forums? I mainly lurk and post occasionally. I'm a music fanatic, but sometimes that place is a beating, christ, the minutiae some people get into is nuts. It's hard to even keep up with a thread over there, they move so damn fast.
  11. Cross-post from the aggy thread, all this damn lifeline talk. KLOL, 1983, it ain't no classic, but it shoulda been...
  12. Goddamit, all this damn lifeline talk, made me go dig out one of my high school mixtapes to track down this gem... KLOL forever, fuckers!
  13. Exactly. My first impression was, hmmm, that shirt would have fit in at Dachau. Dog whistle in overdrive.
  14. If you haven't watched their swan song, Head, it's worth it. I love it, some great tunes, and a pretty subversive flick. And I just watched this yesterday, a great interview with their director Bob Rafelson, learned a lot about both the movie and the TV show (one reason they didn't hire Stephen Stills, he came in and wanted them to give him a hair transplant and some new teeth! Bob said ain't nobody got time for that...).
  15. All the duct tape should have been a dead giveaway...
  16. Anybody else catch this on the ID channel the past couple of nights? The doc itself wasn't that great, very repetitive, but the case is very fascinating, child serial killer (the "Oakland County Child Killer") in the Detroit area in the mid 1970's. Just the whole underground pedophilia rings, christ, disturbing beyond words. Reminded me somewhat of "The Keepers" on Netflix, there was definitely some shady stuff going on with the cops, people being protected, etc. I don't have any idea who actually did it, so many threads, but I do agree that it was probably a team of predators, and that Chris Busch was definitely one of them.
  17. Somebody finally pull the plug on the ol' shag? What will mofo do now...
