  1. OK, so outside of the Godley & Creme videos, which were so different from everything else, probably most of my favorite videos are comedic, whether intentional or not.  This one is both.  Just so much going on here, super-bad acting, giant props, most whitest white-boy dancing, and a damn good song too.

Why so serious, Billy?  The "oh so deep" video, with over the top bad acting, plenty of those to choose from, but I love this one.

This one I love.  The whole Dick Tracy/film noir vibe

And I can't omit this one, Sting in full Feyd Rautha mode for a Police video, and probably my favorite song on an album full of total blockbusters:

Another Godley & Creme video, they also did Wrapped Around Your Finger.

  3. Godley & Creme (Half of the original 10cc), really created some the most inventive videos of the 80s.  In addition to Every Breath You Take and Heat of the Moment already posted, they did these as well:

  4. Per Roger: "I've just been working with Po on a...there's gonna... there's a reissue of Animals, I think, a 5.1 mix of Animals. And so, I've been working with..or, well, I haven't been working, I think he's been working. But he came up with some new photographs of Battersea Power Station as it is now to use as a CD cover for the new 5.1 mix. Beautiful."

Hopefully this gets the proper treatment, include the demos and a live soundboard recording (which do exist, no matter how much they deny it...)

Yes, the entire Angus Podgorny saga is hilarious.

I liked when Python did longer skits like this. Infact the "The Cycling tour" skit may be one of my favorites as it is the only one with a linear storyline that takes the entire episode.

The UK does this for hooligans too.

  7. In America you'll get food to eat
Won't have to run through the jungle and scuff up your feet
You'll just sing about Jesus and drink wine all day
It's great to be an American

Ain't no lions or tigers ain't no mamba snake
Just the sweet watermelon and the buckwheat cake
Everybody is as happy as a man can be
Climb aboard little wog sail away with me

    Sail away sail away
We will cross the mighty ocean into Charleston Bay
    Sail away-sail away
We will cross the mighty ocean into Charleston Bay

In America every man is free
To take care of his home and his family
You'll be as happy as a monkey in a monkey tree
You're all gonna be an American

    Sail away sail away
We will cross the mighty ocean into Charleston Bay
    Sail away-sail away
We will cross the mighty ocean into Charleston Bay

  8. Piranha Brothers is great, WWII flying aces banter skit, Undertaker, Silly Party elections, Blackmail, just the way they segued from one skit to the next.  First time I saw them was on Channel 8, the PBS station in Houston, on a Saturday night at midnight.  This was one from the last couple of seasons that had no audience or laugh track, totally blew my mind.

  9. I don't know if this is font-related or what, but as much as I hated to, I went back to the old site to compare and the the text there is so crisp and clean, over here it's almost pixelated, anything with an angle like W, X, N, the lines are broken, looks like mspaint.  Here everything looks out of focus almost.  Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, I know you've got a shit-ton on your plate and am appreciative, just wondering if this can be fixed at some point.  Thx, I'll hang up and listen.
