  1. Don't you clones come in with your weak takes. No one wants to hear your lame "ARRSEE". Come strong, clones, and you may make it to the Smack Off. Rack him Duke is Duke…. They’re on tv… more than… Leave It to Beavahhh…. Reruns! (Seriously been 20 years since I listened to Romey)
  2. Since we're talking bands, forget about the MOB coming to Austin this year, thanks CDC...
  3. So these nutjobs are coming to my sit-tay on Saturdee...
  4. I hear ya. Played there many times back in the day. Nice hall.
  5. Just checked out the new Dale Watson album on Spotify. I'd read good reviews of it, but it is not what I was expecting at all, very acoustic, blues oriented. Digging the hell out of it actually, nice change of pace for Dale.
  6. Strong KKL vibes coming from that nutjob
  7. E Hogan addresses upcoming changes Listening to it now, no announcement on personnel (still working through it apparently), just talking about financial and signal issues
  8. I figured it was, just too foggy to remember that exact line last night, good on ya!
  9. Killbilly was kind of a precursor to the Bad Livers (Danny Barnes, Mark Rubin, Ralph White), good friends with Mark even though he is living in New Orleans now, did some session work with him for the Newton Boys soundtrack, good guy
  10. Missing my brother something fierce lately, he introduced me to the Old 97s and actually was a roadie for them. In fact, the last song on Drag 'Em Up (No Mother) describes his death, how is that for a pepper upper? Regardless, I appreciate Rhett and all the guys for doing that, it meant more to my mom and me than they will ever know, even though I can't bring myself to listen to it without totally losing it, so I don't. I still love the band though and they have brought me a lot of joy, so for Joel, let's fuckin' rock this joint. Alcohol may have been involved in this post.

    Vinyl

Grabbed a bunch of LPs in an online auction the other night, run by an antique place three blocks from my house so went and picked them up this morning. Except for the Monkees (expected) everything else was VG to Mint, just a few light scuffs on a couple. $52 including auction fee and sales tax, not bad. Got most for $1, I think the highest was the McCartney Russian album, paid $6 for that. Got into a bidding war for a copy of the Xanadu soundtrack (don't @me, I'm a huge ELO fan...), price got up to $10 so I bailed. Got outbid on lots of others but nothing I couldn't live without... The John Denver and Manilow are for my wife, btw
  12. May-Oct is prime church picnic time here in CenTex. Played a picnic in Ammannsville on Father’s Day, at the end they were selling leftover fried chicken (huge pieces) for a dollar apiece and a gallon baggie full of smoked sausage for 5 bucks just to get rid of it…
  13. Midnight Sun Pleasure Town IPA, Seward Alehouse
  14. Various, Matanuska Brewing Company, and a moose
  15. And I am sure that was verbatim - because "he consistently and continuously ignored border laws or whatever".
