  1. I'm not so sure about that. There were 26 kids last year who declared early for the draft and went undrafted. Without a transfer penalty, they may be more likely to transfer to a lesser program for a better opportunity for playing time.
  2. For student-athletes who meet GPA and degree-advancement benchmarks. http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/di-committee-academics-considers-transfer-rule-changes
  3. Still seems like it'd make more sense to just do a Thurs-Sat series (or leave Monday open for both teams). Skipping Friday only helps you if there is a weather issue on Thursday whereas skipping Sunday or Monday can help if any of the games are rained/snowed out.
  4. Lagerald Vick leaving Kansas. Did he get forced out to free up a scholarship? Seems like he probably goes undrafted.
  5. I would have presumed an extra four days off would mean more off Mondays and Thursdays, not Fridays. And if the point is to accommodate weather issues, it only makes sense to put off days at the end of a series, not after the first game of it.
  6. Jordan Lebron Wilt 34
  7. Roy Bean was a murderer, a wife beater, an unrepentant racist, and a thief who abused his office for personal gain.
  8. When's the last time there were fewer than 10 scheduled games on a Friday during the regular season?
  9. Eisenhower lived in Texas for less than two years and was too young to remember a second of it. Chris Kyle was a liar, a narcissist, and a sociopath.
  10. It's not nearly as bad as 290 west but that stretch of 290 east of Elgin where it's 4 undivided lanes is dangerous as hell too. My best friend was killed out there 3 years ago.
  11. I’m all for disincentivizing mid-inning pitching changes. Holding a guy out for one game also doesn’t really punish teams who need to make a mid-inning change due to injury.
  12. Because the US doesn’t have a bunch of baseball academies kids get sent off to.
  13. Pretty sure I saw a hornian post in baseball a couple of days ago.
  14. Northbound traffic still has a light for the southbound left turn lane into that office park but they took out the light on the southbound side a little while back.
  15. No clue. I've assumed it's one of those domino effects from one dumbass braking because of the curve and causing a traffic jam.
  16. It's fucking maddening when that lane is still somehow backed up by the exiting traffic, despite the light on 360 being removed so there's nowhere for the exiting traffic to get hung up.
  17. Toasted ravioli is the best part of St. Louis food. Imo’s Pizza is the worst.
  18. The incredibly small number of voter fraud convictions make it tough to discern whether there’s racism involved in the sentencing.
  19. Because DAs get elected by being tough on crime and ADAs get advanced by being winners.
  20. Fortunately this has only thus far been a goal of the suburban megachurch GOP faction and the rural Republicans have been able to fend it off. I’m hopeful the ass kicking Empower Texans took in the GOP primaries will allow that to continue.
  21. I’ve never heard anyone describe the tax code as fair so I’m not sure why you’d expect them to start now. I also don’t know why your taxes were affected by $8000 when the tax credit for a Sonata Plug-in Hybrid is only $4919. (I’m assuming you bought the plug-in hybrid as regular hybrids stopped carrying a tax credit in 2010.)
  22. Yeah, that’s fucking brutal. To some degree RISP performance is luck but you can’t get lucky if you don’t even put the ball in play.
  23. Yeah, the participated and unread tabs are nice. It’s also just easier to read IMO.
  24. I didn’t read the book so I knew nothing outside of having seen the trailer but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
  25. He was phenomenal
