  1. On the flip side if he’s not at Lake Travis, there’s a good chance he never reaches the NFL so thanks to the parents for providing him that opportunity.
  2. Well timing will make that difficult cause they all have to be draft eligible. Here’s my burning question. What kinda dipshits thought this was a 8 win team heading into the preseason? With all this talent.
  3. I’m a bit confused as to why a defensive line coach needs an assistant.
  4. Of the last 5 Super Bowls, the defense was the primary factor in at least two victories. I’d say it was actually 3. There will be tons of Lamar talk but the Ravens are the favorites as much because of their defense. The QB is the most important player often but many a Super Bowl was won for reasons other than great QB play. Manning and Elway won when they weren’t particularly great at playing the position. For the Falcons, I believe they were much better running the ball last year than this year. I don’t believe that was solely attributable to QB play. That’s one thing they need to figure out.
  5. It’ll be interesting. There will be great number or fans capped out on expenses and travel/vacation time.
  6. How does this matter? Do you expect fans to attend both? I’d attend the national championship, but I’d be gone well before the Super Bowl as would almost all others I’d assume. I’m not sure who has the capacity to buy both tickets and sit around a week. So what’s the point?
  7. Rice is a go to guy. Knowing how important and unique Kelce is, they need to consider Jatavion then look at picking up the WR later or even elsewhere. Murphy also would an interesting choice. If he can provide an interior pass rush but also hold up in the run game, that’s gold. I think he’s not got enough physicality and quickness to have a chance to pull off both. We are seeing more impactful TEs, but those skill sets at those two positions have been rather uncommon.
  8. Yeah, I don’t care either. He’s still earning a lot and perhaps it made him a slightly better person.
  9. Probably made easier because he played off ball coverage. What do you think?
  10. And when you’re always in the middle you don’t have access to more sure fire stars when drafting. You best be on point or you might be stuck in the abyss with no QB. I wouldn’t give up on Pickett yet. He needs a year free of the Canada offense.
  11. Never said I had original content. Or perhaps I’m the beloved Ian Boyd.
  12. This is a bit interesting. I understand that’s the general sentiment, but the defense arguably had a better season with less talent than the offense.
  13. Maurice Jones-Drew: He shouldn't be a Hall of Famer. His stats aren't there, and he was never one of the league's top receivers during his career. Speaking about Edelman. He was a 7th round pick as a former QB from a nothing college. The most TDs in a season was 7 and generally was 11 yards per catch. Not sure if accurate but a quick read says he was never a pro bowler. Welker was undrafted and cut once. He was great and did get some accolades no doubt but was second fiddle to Moss. He also only had 50 TD catches and was an 11 yard per catch guy. Troy Brown had 1 pro bowl. He is NE Hall of Famer but outside of their circle was never really hyped as a star. 31 TD catches. There’s probably more appreciation for them post career than during it. All 3 late draft picks or undrafted that are likely miscast and underutilized with any other team.
  14. They had a lot of underappreciated guys. NE was probably the first to use the undersized but not overly fast WR. Troy Brown, Welker, Edelman. They weren’t stars, but they were incredibly difficult to cover on the underneath stuff. Edelman destroyed the Rams in that Super Bowl.
  15. That first Super Bowl they won the AFC championship on the road without Brady. In the Super Bowl their offense scored 13 with the defense scoring 7. Nevermind the defense held down the Rams O. They also won a Super Bowl scoring 13 points which is the lowest winning total since 1975 or some shit. So that’s two Super Bowl wins with the offense along for the ride. The losses in which they gave up 21 and 17 were amongst the lowest scoring totals to win a Super Bowl in the last 50 years. They won 3 super bowls in Brady’s first 4 years of starting. Years in which he never completed more than 64% of his passes, never threw 30 TDs and had double digit picks in each of those years. Even that Falcons game, the Falcons scored on a pick 6. The Pats had 12 points into the 4th quarter when the defense caused a fumble that ended with a 25 yard TD drive. And of course the Seahawks blew it. They were fortunate the Bills, Dolphins and Jets were largely crappy during this time. To act as though this run wasn’t heavily influenced by defense and special teams is completely off base. That’s the Bill factor.
  16. DFEI was #12 in 2014, #43 in 2015 and #44 in 2016. The OFEI was 95, 87, and 66. I guess the Big 12 wasn’t great across the board but two top 10 teams along with top 20 KSU. I’m not sure how good Bedford was but Baylor and TCU were in their heyday offensively. OU began stuttering until Riley came on board. Mahomes was at Tech. I don’t know the inner workings of recruiting, but there are too many guys hanging out in or around the NFL to say they were horrible recruiters especially considering that it was only 3 years with the first year being a short one. But maybe Herman and staff were great developers. Those defenses were mediocre in 15 and 16 because they were young. The offense was terrible. That KU loss that ended it all had the defense pitching a shutout for 3 quarters but 6 turnovers were the issue. Ironically enough those 6 turnovers were at the hands of future NFLers.
  17. I’m not sure it matters. Give me option C. Tomlin has a big impact on why his roster is as it is. He’s halfway tried to get a QB, but I’m not sure Canada wasn’t the bigger issue. Dan Moore and whatever that C from Illinois that got let go were relatively high draft picks. They picked Najee when they needed help upfront. I do like their offensive skill guys, but the offense is terrible. They’ve got good defensive guys upfront but struggle to cover.
  18. He also hired Canada. And playoff defense giving up 42 a game won’t win much. He’s had plenty of time to get a QB and OL. All that’s on him.
  19. Why the hell doesn’t he have that roster? Not enough time with the Steelers? He’s 3-10 in his last 13 playoff games. That goes back to 2011. I believe that loss was to Tim Tebow by the way. He won the Super Bowl in year 2. Barry Switzer won the Super Bowl in year 2. Only returned to the Super Bowl in 2010 since that win. Since 2017, they have given up 166 points in 4 playoff games. All losses. He has 2 double digit playoff wins with 5 double digit losses.
  20. Are you saying prime Brady was in his 40s? Seeing how he didn’t leave until late in his career.
  21. One of those is not like the others. And I ain’t talking Purdy.
  22. That time to throw difference is big but 2.45 is very quick to release the ball. The 2.93 is around high average going from memory. There was a difference of 0.31 when kept clean and 0.65 when pressured. Penix was no doubt feeling pressure quicker versus UM resulting 4-18 and 2 picks when pressured. He was 9-15 versus us. But he also was better when clean against us. Just one of those days in which he was draining 3s.
  23. I buy that to an extent. Is it on catches only or all throws? I’d assume but catches but he missed more often versus Michigan so that might presumably increase the yardage difference. The missed deep ball to Odunze was his worst throw in the two games. Time to throw versus Texas was 2.93 seconds and 2.45 versus Michigan so that’d lean more towards tighter coverage from Texas because more time to separate.
  24. I’m confused. So you can’t gain 20 pounds of muscle in a summer. Even using steroids? What about in 8 months, with or without steroids?
