  1. Well damn since you put it like that. And of course, the offense gifted OU a short field early too. And they could have finished the last drive with one more first down.

I do get it asshole. I was there. And I just watched it again. It’s an emotional game. You get a pick early you go ape shape. You give up a TD. One team rises. The other fades. We didn’t lose on lack of emotion. We lost on lack of execution. Your first TD was on a play in which our safety and LB chased the motion. Great play call that dictated our reactions. Execution not emotion. We got a damn unsportsmanlike penalty after our TD. Probably only cause we wanted to have fun. Point is. Your failed possessions meant your emotions/fire weren’t carrying shit. Then a shitty call gave you an emotional lift. Just out of curiosity what sports did you play? That’s a serious question. I’m interested as to where you’re coming from.
  3. Only the once. I was joking. I’m not finished being pissed so rematch isn’t really on my mind yet.

Yeah OU was by no means perfect. But you were touting OU as shitting fire and Texas shitting rainbows. Not true. Now OU does sell there soul more so Texas in this game no doubt. There were a shit ton of things that could have occurred to change the outcome. That includes some that could have put it more in your favor. And the timekeeper screwing up the game clock after Bowman’s injury was potentially significant. In your favor. Unfortunately, on that first OU pick, Worthy was wide ass open and potentially scoring. QE chose poorly. There’s no bigger what ifs than that one since that set the tone for the entire game. And when you’re talking high and mighty about wanting it more, remember you had 3 failed offensive possessions in a row. Then your punter flopped on very minimal contact. So your offense and team got a jumpstart from a 100% horseshit call (yes, incredibly dumb of us to be in that position).
  5. Yes, I remember the review to call OPI on us. I don’t recall seeing that before. It’s been my stance from the get go this season that it wouldn’t necessarily be the Big 12 officials out to get us. It’d just be what has become the norm. And they likely wouldn’t take it out on OU. In my opinion OU holding on the Oline is not as blatant as it once was. This past weekend the outside WRs were pretty bad. On the one goal line play in which Brooks was held but also whomever 82 was blocking was something. If you’re that blatant in front of the officials, you fear no repercussions. There was a play earlier when the LT held Finkley, Stoops bear hugged Barron and somebody came back on Holmes and pushed him in the back. The two holds were drawn out with an unobstructed view.
  6. @JBJ I got one for you. First drive of 2nd half. 3rd and 2. About the 12:32 mark. No interference as the throw was behind the LOS. But illegal block coming from the outside in? And just to get you punks rolling, on the second play of the winning drive, who’s got OPI on Stoopsie? The ball still is airborne, and he’s started to block Barron.
  7. Just watched the game again. First down there was no prevent. Our LBs don’t have a great understanding of zone coverage or at least being consistent with it. On the first play, LB depth was poor. Route recognition was poor. No reason for the pass to be caught at 10 yet deeper than you. The second play. Just a poor job by the corner. Make the tackle. It should have been easy. Interestingly enough, technically it was OPI on Stoops. The third play to Stoops. Williams/Ford are the keys. Looks like Blackwell guarding grass. Instinctually, Williams should pick up Stoops. What he’s doing 5 yards from the LOS before Gabriel crosses the LOS is beyond me. Ford gets little depth but is too deep to force a quicker Gabriel throw. Both Ford/Williams got themselves in no man’s land for no reason. Fourth play run. Fifth play TD. Looks like Burke rushes too wide. He may be trying to draw the tackle but he pushes Brooks too wide. I didn’t care for the blitz on the TD. But it could have been brilliant. I’m not sure why the more experienced Holmes wasn’t in. And I would have liked to see Stoops harassed at the LOS.

Who’s this poster? I like this guy. OU had a few more struggles when they started getting banged up. Sanders had his fewest snaps all year and was limited on run snaps. I can’t imagine he practiced all that much. Some here wanted more aggressive defense. Watts is probably the best blitzer out of the corners. The most physical too. Muhammad as an example completely whiffed versus KU on a blitz. We likely missed his experience on that last drive too. Saw Banks, Sanders, Baxter all limping around on the field. Robertson has hardly played. All that stuff adds up in addition to all the many things mentioned.
  9. Yep. That’s what I saw live. I don’t think Bowman returned either.
  10. So you’re saying we lose to them again in the Big 12 championship? Wouldn’t that be something. We’ve never lost twice to them in one season.
  11. Yeah, I think taking the back was the right choice there. When it gets to that point, it’s about limiting the damage.
  12. We lose nothing by calling a timeout there either.
  13. Yeah, no way he bumps outside to make that tackle. Also notice there is no whipping our Olines ass here either. We only have 9 to block 11. On 3rd down, if Brooks follows Sweat at that guy pointed out, he’s got a chance. Odd that we run wildcat in the middle of the field but not goal line. Sark, that extra defender or two is yours.
  14. About the only way Sanders catches that is to get it cleanly and get it back to his chest before the hits comes. Any sort of extension of the arms before the hit and it’s incredibly unlikely he catches it.
  15. It was Keilan. He’s always on the punt team. He’s blocked them before so you know he wants another. You can see him try to avoid contact late. If that’s 4th and 15, that’s one thing. But 4th and 4. Just stay away.
  16. And in both cases, the second down play call was very conservative. On first and second downs OU only had one guy in position to make the play. They did.
  17. There was minimal contact on the running into the punter. Absolutely no risk of injury. It’s a safety penalty as opposed gaining an unfair advantage penalty. Punters flop. You call that shit you are are encouraging flopping. It was stupid on our part and should have never been a possibility. But it was a shitty call.
  18. Yes, it’s tough. I have no idea what we’re coached, but it’s happened several times in which we’ve left our zones only to complete a pass behind us for a first or TD. It has to be situational. On 3rd and 10, I don’t need to make the tackle 2 yards beyond the LOS. Leaving a zone early is always risky. I’d assume we don’t stress this. Ideally in this situation, we drop to 12-14 then come up to tackle as Gabriel runs for 8/9, the clock runs for 20 or so seconds. In that situation any QB run short of the sticks is a positive for us. Minimal yards. Clock running with the offensive guys all over the field. I don’t remember the other one you are referring to. In previous games, Ford has followed the seam so it wouldn’t surprise me that he’d turn and run. Or effectively be man up.
  19. Milroe is a quality QB. 300 yards passing on the road with limited run game yesterday. JT Daniels 2:1 TD/Int ratio along with almost 9,000 passing yards says he’s decent.

Just to add some fuel to the fire, Ewers was 11-11 on routes 11-20 yards.
  21. For a fake or to actually run? If run, go watch the play preceding the Whittington jet sweep.
  22. In all their scoring drives, he had about 6 runs, 3/4 of which were designed runs. That was somewhere around 35 yards. He had several break the pocket throws. Again the big one was to Stoops in which Gabriel escaped up the middle. Edge containment wasn’t a significant detriment in the game based on their scoring drives. Missed tackles by the corners and simply the corners allowing completions were. And ultimately DG rushing yardage in those drives was minimally impactful. Called QB runs were just as impactful. You’re not going to spy (not that you’re saying this) with a minute left and 75 yards to go. A QB run for 8-9 yards is what we’d dial up. For two years our LBs show poor patience on QBs threatening the LOS in the pass game. Tech, OSU, and yesterday were big plays because we don’t play situationally. That is hard to do. I’m not saying the edge guys were good fyi.
  23. I did not know that. I’m not condoning a spy fyi. A delayed blitzer might have been appropriate on occasion but I think a spy was not necessary. Ford was a de facto spy on the late throw to Stoops. Haven’t watched OU but out reactions to the Qb draw seemed to indicate we were surprised by it.
