  1. Well except your QB. And your WRs. And really your OLine. The defense has rotated a considerable amount.
  2. ISU will be tough, but do they go 4-wide with a QB that can run? I’m not hugely concerned about the running QB except that maybe we overcorrect to that threat. That’s not KSUs style so they’re a bit less concerning.
  3. Jim Miller on NFL Network was discussing how on the first play of the game that their opponent was showing 6 rushers against 5 blockers. Fields didn’t see it/react to it. He holds the ball too long. There were several games at OSU in which he didn’t react well to pressure. Turnover machine. Dj Moore, Cole Kmet are above average at their positions. Rb stable is respectable. The problem isn’t all about the parts.
  4. What about that BC team that damn near beat FSU earlier this year?
  5. It was sarcastic. I’m a little amazed at the over the top reactions. Defense is banged up. The biggest, consistent difference maker sat out half 1. The opposing Oline holds their asses off. We’re not yet Georgia/Bama talent. We get beat with different stuff. The offense has a chance to finish off opponents but doesn’t. OU has a solid offense. Houston has some good parts. It’s not like the O didn’t turn it over 3 times and special teams give them another possession. And oh yeah, they probably spent more time preparing than typical.
  6. I think we need to adjust our RB release path. Noticed on the goalline too. Brooks runs more horizontal than vertical. No reason for Baxter to have his back to the defense running more horizontal than vertical here. If the LBs get good drops and your pass catchers are running deep, that middle should have space. Not sure how you adjust that however.
  7. I’d generally agree but check out the 3rd and 4 with 8:30 in the 2ndQ. Then it looks like Worthy is sitting on Murphys 3rd down throw to Mitchell.
  8. But look at the crappy offenses we’ve played.
  9. I’m going to leave the entirety of the post. Started to delete the last sentence but wanted to give credit because that statement is accurate. I was quite curious about the initial sentence. It’s complete and utter horseshit and you jumped somebody else’s ass with that as part of your rationale. There might have been 1 or 2 2-man routes. There wasn’t much max protect. Sanders did pass block more than usual but only 6 out of 32 pass plays. He ran a route 26 times. Mitchell and Worthy ran routes on 35 of 36 pass plays. Whittington ran 23 routes. Whittington played 55% of the snaps versus 52% on the season. Helm played 43% versus Houston versus 60% on the season. I believe you did reference elsewhere that after the 4th drive is when it changed. It did not. Just watched it all again. Also on the 36 pass plays, there was an average of 4.5 routes. Assume the RB ran a route on every play, back that out, and you get 3.5 routes per play. Those are some odd numbers for max protection and 2-man routes. But you posted with authority and confidence so I guess that’s something.
  10. What about 9-27 on 3rd downs is like last year?
  11. The OU football program was wronged on ethical grounds?
  12. Worthy hasn’t dropped anything in several games. Brooks drop rate on the season may even be higher than Worthy’s.
  13. Guess I’ll need to watch again cause I don’t think we ran many two-man routes or max protection. So max protect with 3/4 rushers? So 8 versus 3. Holy shit is right.
  14. Your post is misleading. The 4th down throw to end the game was missed. There are reasons no one is ever 100% on completions. But yes Smith was off. It also is true that man coverage makes QBing easy in certain cases.
  15. Injured a hamstring working on his explosive run game.
  16. They were the starters and played the first two possessions. Zero points scored. I’d be curious to see points per possession based on the combos. And of course, they were not both on the field in the final possession versus OU. It is interesting to know the rationale of rotations.
  17. That may have been a delayed blitz. I don’t think Ford rushed immediately. I’ll take it no matter. We blitzed on the Taafe pick too.
  18. Stogner came from the hash to recover that onside. Only 2 UCF dudes even participated.
  19. Cause wide side of the field.
  20. Every player is different, but lateral throws don’t do this generally speaking. What they do is allow the defense to get in flow and confirm their own gameplan. Don’t look now, but we have not attempted much down the field in the last few games. That’s not a positive for any offense.
  21. The QE pick on play 2 was monumental. Unforced. If he doesn’t majorly screw that play up, we may get a very different game. Sark needs to get creative on every first series. Give the D what they didn’t expect. He’s play calling early to not fold in half 2. Confuse the opponent, drain their confidence. Then let our talent and depth win out.

  23. When our dudes don’t finish on the blitzes, it won’t encourage the call. Remember Muhammad completely whiffing versus KU? Watts versus Bama last year? Really in 2021 to now our DBs have not been good at finishing. Ford isn’t a good pass rusher. Just last game our blitzes were failures. Now, if we have Hill and Catalon as blitzing LBs in pass rushing situations, you might have something. Gbenda might be useful. Per pff Catalon has not blitzed on pass downs.
  24. Gotcha. I’m first things first. Win our games. Win the Big 12. Then go from there. Lots of games to be played on both fronts.
