  1. Milroe is the key. I don’t believe they score consistently without him playing well. We can and have scored without great interior blocking. That said our Oline misses fewer assignments than last week. Horns by 10.
  2. I’m gonna go with this on the short yardage/Helm screwed up play. Ultimately, I think we were confused. Or at least 1 or 2 guys were. I’m gonna go with this on the short yardage/Helm screwed up play. Ultimately, I think we were confused. Or at least 1 or 2 guys were.
  3. He’s our least favorite of the options. I’m not sure if it was decided that it’s ok to not block what would have been the LILB. Think it was left to each person to decide for themselves.
  4. Same number as Troy Stradford and Michael Jordan.
  5. What are you getting worked up over? I credited you for identifying the missing defender. If you were not that person, I apologize. That defender is critical for a couple of reasons.
  6. Is now a good time to mention that Colt legit scored on the play prior to his injury? The officials did not take time to review fully. As least that’s my recollection.
  7. This is good stuff. Thanks for dragging me into it. I’d like to know the true answer. It’d be foolish to leave the MLB unblocked. Was that Sanders guy? Was it Banks off the double? Was it Campbell? The play could be designed to go right, but Brooks can probably see that’s trouble. Wide left is dumb because you’ve got Mitchell with two guys. Good shit on Mitchell not being able to get inside. Yes, Mitchell can easily get inside that dude. He’s lined up on his inside The screenshots fooled you punks. Believe it was Longhornslove that introduced the shadow of the CB. If Mitchell goes out wide, he’s the only one going with him. So he’s tight to give an extra blocker with no additional defenders. If you’d count bodies, you see we’ve got 10, they’ve got 9.
  8. Good to see some of you are coming around. The games in which QBs make all the right decisions and take all the right steps are not rare. They don’t actually exist. All that is probably more difficult when doing it the first time in a live environment after 8 months. Throw out the first series, and it was a pretty positive showing.
  9. Probably. That’s with a 3 LB set, which is not necessarily our go to starting lineup. But it’s all predicated on what the offense is doing. Like it or not Bush is pretty physical and has some versatility. That said unless Bama goes heavy you won’t see him much as a SLB.
  10. Playing OU in some place other than the Cotton Bowl is a travesty. Playing them twice in a season is dumbassery. This conference has gifted them games, championship appearances and turned a blind to years of their treachery. You root for them to lose.
  11. He started and got a few series. There was nothing for him to do as all the plays were already made.
  12. You’re a little non-committal in your post here. “Often” the problem….”most”…….”we don’t know”……”most people don’t know” Can you point out who knows so I know which posts to give the most credibility?
  13. It’s not like he’s done here. I mean we’re one game into this season.
  14. I’m on the lower deck, west side. The heat wasn’t terrible and probably better for a 2:30 start than 11 in my spot. We were lucky that we didn’t get direct sun though. That’s the killer.
  15. What exactly are your expectations? I’d assume there is some sort of team metric there. Say wins for this year. Many probably had us 1-1 after Bama. Ultimately, his jobs is to help us win games.
  16. Jumbotron was damn loud. I want a replay of every play. This fell way short. The band, Pom, cheer seem non-existent. Tv commercials were pretty much all 2:35. I don’t know if that’s a network thing but better than the occasional 3:55 or whatever that had started to happen in prior years. Halftimes can be cut down to 15 minutes.
  17. Well let’s hope your strategy works.
  18. One might want to consider on the out of bounds ball to Worthy that it traveled about 80 yards in the air. (Throw from 24 to 25 and just inside the opposite hash) He missed the target by about 2 yards. On its face it is frustrating, but it’s why he’s playing.
  19. So Connor goes from starter to duking it out at a different position whereas the backup goes to starter without question? Ask @HenryJames
  20. The feeling regarding the offense is likely different if the first possession yesterday wasn’t garbage and Brooks catches the easy TD. He’s an anticipatory passer. He throws too soon on occasion because of this. When it works (Sanders TD) it’s awesome. When it doesn’t (Sanders face mask) it’s what the hell. Repetitions will/can help his patience. As far as being the same dude as last year, there were no risky throws necessarily, but he’s looking to convert first downs with his legs. So no he isn’t exactly the same guy. It was Rice. Who gives a damn. It was hot. It was never in doubt. In truth my preference is to not look great in game 1, but the realization that we need to focus and prepare properly for Bama is more important.
  21. Yeah, I can’t help but think there will be fewer comebacks now. Heard ol Bobby Burton say that thus far there’s a 7% reduction in plays. Yet somehow I didn’t get a 7% reduction in ticket prices. They should have tried creative advertising and efficient replay reviews first. If that didn’t work, then move to other options. There’s a number of things they could have done to save 15-20 minutes per game.
  22. I think if that happens something has gone wrong. But suspect we will see some against Rice.
