  1. Yeah, play the game. We have the best arms available of the two teams when you talk stuff, experience and achievement. Morehouse and Witt are those guys. Then we have Hurley. You’ve got probably Gordon, Lummus and Whitehead to knock out some lefties. If we can’t put together a respectable effort out of that, then multiple dudes just flat out didn’t get it done. Dowd hasn’t pitched multiple games in one weekend when he throws 50+ pitches very often. So he’ll have to do something he hasn’t all year if he’s to have success beyond one inning. Dugan is likely a guy that we will need to succeed at hitting today. He was big for them in the regional and will be fresh. Stanford will have capable arms, but those same arms are capable of mediocre to poor performances too. We need to hit. It’s been the story all season. If the top of the lineup produces, we succeed. Here lately even if the top 4 gets hits, they aren’t big ones - extra bases or with runners on. One big inning versus Miami but other than that offensive production has been pretty poor. The game 1 9th inning was incredibly effective, but it wasn’t due to hitting the ball. We’re lucky to be in game 3. It is a toss up. Which players have a day? Who knows. I think Pierce has the tougher job getting his team mentally focused simply because we don’t have many confident hitters right now.
  2. Yeah probably. Double digit strikeouts in half his starts? He’s a pitcher.
  3. I don’t have that but tonight but 3 walks and 5 hits came with two strikes. ( not including the last two hits) Think 7 of those started 1-2.
  4. Pretty sure you argued against this being a big deal.
  5. None of them do. That’s Williams/Pierce. We struggle closing the deal with two strikes. That’s not a tonight deal either. That’s a significant reason why.
  6. Not a single pitch at the shoulders with 2 strikes. That’s one reason Stanford is laying off the low stuff.
  7. ODowd is not sub 250. And he’s batting 6th because he has pop, strikes out a lot, doesn’t take pitches and doesn’t walk.
  8. Wakes ERA is in the 2s and easily lower than everyone else’s. No one else is sub-3. Bamas is around top 10. But Wakes offense is incredibly productive too.
  9. I choose to believe that said poster got few hits but got on due to many errors.
  10. They didn’t submit a bid due to hosting Special Olympics this weekend.
  11. I’m curious what you mean by this. But on scoring, there are some oddities. A sac fly doesn’t negatively impact your batting average but a groundout does. RBI for both. Are you saying there should be no errors?
  12. Maybe he was. No one looks worse at the plate than EK versus quite a few lefties. Except when he bunts.
  13. In the last three weeks, he’s not your worst hitter. And he had a good swing his prior AB. He has 1 of the two maybe three best swings today.
  14. Fuck off with that simple minded bullshit. A decision should never be made just cause it’s the 9 hole hitter. It’s about matchups. Now Galvan in the 9th versus this dude. Better chance.
  15. You need to score on Stanford. We haven’t. That’s why we’re down. The top 4 in the lineup are 1-10 with a catchers interference.
  16. He put it in play. Jack didn’t after being spotted a 2-0. All of our dudes are hitting it, clearly.
  17. The better choice would have been JD for Jack O. Since the Big 12 tourney, Dalys had about as many well hit balls as anyone in the lineup. Galvan ain’t hitting that dudes curve. I mean miracles do happen.
  18. A guy who hasn’t hit in weeks versus a dude that was two foot from a homer his last AB?
  19. No. Better with fans. And even better if you win it.
  20. A bit surprising Techs hitting has been so crappy.
