  1. Just for fun I’d like point out in 2021 Baylor and OU combined for 3 penalties for 25 yards. And from what I recall any reviews went in their favor. That is odd for teams that trailed from minutes in until the 4th quarter. Not reflected on the stat sheet was the play in which our defender pushed the poor OU WR out of bounds prior to him converting the 3rd down pass. Or the failure to review an incomplete pass that resulted in an immediate recovery by us.
  2. Which was funnier last year or 2015 when it was 16-4, which also included not awarding a fumble to us?
  3. Well sure if they don’t suck. But last year they sucked. Or so I’ve heard.
  4. That’s a bit more than 26.
  5. I did a little search here but did not find my answer. When someone gets credit for a takeaway, does it include fumbles caused if they do not recover it themselves? Obviously it includes interceptions. Presumably includes fumble recoveries.
  6. This cracks me up. Your top two dudes sit. Your 3rd guy is less than 100%. The bowl game didn’t mean much in the bigger picture. Whoever else you have has not played in games. Now it’s an early season practice. The top dog is out. It’s a practice. Here’s a shocker. Even if Keilan is 3rd team, he’s likely getting meaningful snaps with the first unit. He’s earned them in productive moments, gadget plays or not, but Sark giving him an additional nod is ok too. And those gadget plays will be more productive if Keilan can diversify the plays he can run. So practice those. With the guys that’ll be on the field with him. Now, if he gets the majority of carries and averages 2.5 per carry in the season, we got a problem. Who gives a damn who technically starts the games. We need each guy put in places and situations to produce. No need to worry about who runs out first.
  7. And I was just wondering when HenryJames was going to post again.
  8. Just kick the G5 out. No byes. I’d say no home games too. Unbalanced schedules leading to either byes or home games is too significant an advantage.
  9. If you want more eyes on your games, conference games starting the season is a good thought. It doesn’t create more losses. Pretty even playing field. Big 12 ought to do it.
  10. Sweatt doesn’t look that fat.
  11. You should be a lot more surprised that Hutson ain’t even listed at C.
  12. You may be thinking of the lead up to the Cotton Bowl. Kwame, Humphrey and Jj Kelly were suspended. As for McGarity, he got injured in 1997 returning kickoffs. Terrible decision on Mackovics part.
  13. Didn’t Wane McGarity bang up a knee returning kicks in 1998? He was a can’t lose guy that year. Or perhaps I’m losing my mind.
  14. So he just needs to be tricked into thinking the season starts a month earlier.
  15. On the OSU game in 2011 versus Iowa State, there several points of note. It was a Friday night game at Ames. It was coming off the plane crash impacting their athletic department and 10 years after the previous plane crash. Then the late missed OSU FG. In watching the replay, you can’t tell jack about whether it was missed. At least not the replay I see. You’d think in certain conferences for certain teams that’s good given the importance. The Big 12 really has been one to shoot themselves in the foot.
  16. That’d be great for college football. Get the right coaching staffs and enough NIL monies to compete, and there’s considerable upside from a talent perspective. I had not really thought a ton about Nil shifting some power away from those most willing to get dirty like Bama and Georgia. I’m not all about parity but don’t care for the entire western college football front being an afterthought. USC and UCLA have made efforts, but do the rest of them have long term hopes? And for me personally Stanford and Cal don’t move the needle from an interest perspective. Don’t think that rivalry game I’ve ever thought that’s must see tv.
  17. Lots of what ifs about Big 12 teams going to the PAC 12. In this latest round of moves, the Big 12 should have attempted to poach the PAC 12. Texas, OU, USC Washington, Oregon, OSU, Tech, TCU, KSU, Bu UCLA, then ISU, KU This move was about competing and money. USC would have been key. That would have been the conference with the 3 biggest names. The middle tier would have been very strong from a competitive standpoint. From the competition and money standpoint, the PAC 12 was dead. Too many schools unwilling or unable to legitimately compete. That was the selling point.
  18. And 10 teams then versus 14 now. This isn’t about recruiting titles. We’re now talking about baseline production to perceived upside of each individual. Our 16 guys are those who have made plays or flashed potential on the field. It’s time to win.
  19. Well yeah but they are saying 16 out of 22 position players are all conference types. That’s a huge number. Those other 6 would have to be significant holes. Then compare to other conference foes none of whom have 11. From what I remember, we probably have 3 times as many as any other conference team. And, from the 6 not listed, 4 are returning starters, one is replacing a two-year starter we let go, and the other is a very highly sought after LB. What that does tell you is that we’re the favorite to win the conference and by considerable amount. You win the conference there’s a good shot at a playoff berth. Anything can happen from there. Just let it flow.
  20. I am curious about this. How’d he mess it up so bad? And what is being unpacked? He’s the anti-David Ortiz but otherwise what you got against him.
  21. That seems reasonable. If that’s going to be the approach, they will need to find someone to lock down the 7th or 8th opposite Chapman. I know Chapma got the 8th versus the Dodgers one game presumably because it was heart of the order.
  22. The biggest question is why Chapman was used so early in the game. I didn’t watch so not sure of specifics. I’d presume it was because it was the heart of the order but still a bit unusual when chances are good some of those same guys hit in the 9th.
  23. Length of career is already longer at WR. So maybe potential earnings too. You have two to three times as many starters at Wr as RB. Same with CB. And in todays world, you see far more players converting from QB to other positions rather than the other way around. If you aren’t playing QB at a relatively early age, then you probably aren’t playing it much. Certainly not at the NFL level. Many RB skill sets and size don’t translate elsewhere. At least not relative to other NFL players. You have about 5 unique RBs in the NFL. That number will always be about that. Give or take.
