  1. O Dowd gonna hit .300 by seasons end.
  2. Scoring 100 runs means nothin - Cousin Strawberry
  3. No. But they aren’t shutting us out the last 5 no matter what happens this inning. And GG is 0 for his last 8.
  4. He’s only been on base about 10 times. Not sure what to do.
  5. Oh no. Witt is our shittiest starter/pitcher.
  6. You’re welcome. This team is frustrating. They don’t walk enough. They don’t get enough key hits. They rarely put teams away. Pierce introduces too much fuckery on occasion. We hit more home runs than our opponents. And we hit more, deeper fly balls. Offensively and pitching-wise, there is considerable upside. And we’re pretty good defensively. Get some shit ironed out, and we can make a run.
  7. LSU has a dude that’s started 26 games batting .208. And they’re probably the best, most productive 1-9. Wakes SS is hitting .231. 5 or 7 XBHs. Duke has 2 dudes hitting .250. South Carolina has a dude hitting .231. Another at .264. Kentucky.232 and .260. Arkansas SS is ineffective. Boston College has a dude hitting .258 with 3 XBHs. A .229 hitter. A .246 hitter with 8 XBHs. These guys are over 100 ABs.
  8. Many are not. Wakes SS adds little to their offense. Baseball lineups with kick ass 8, 9 hitters are not common.
  9. Probably. But he’s been pretty solid all season. A few bumpy innings here and there but now on fire.
  10. Funny. Y’all are a little inflexible. It probably wouldn’t line up that way. But if we get a 2 seed and play a heavy righty lineup, then LBJ might be the guy in a game 1. I’ve been arguing for structure for some time, but LBJ and Gordon don’t seem concerned with the uncertainty.
  11. No, I don’t. That would be wonderful if he were.
  12. Depending on how LBJ finishes does he become your #1? Or rather what does he need to do to become the #1 starter?
  13. There’s probably still hope. I’d bet the big 12 gets one host. And whoever that is won’t be a slam dunk.
  14. So in spite of the loss our conference championship hopes improved?
  15. Just a few things on this. Daly needed a rest to regroup some time ago. It was odd timing to pull Daly after the shittiest strike call of the season though. People have harped on Dalys conference batting efforts. If you’re going to do that, you need to note that he’s a tick below .300 in non-conference games with some decent power numbers. Now he’s sitting against non-conference foes. It’ll be interesting to see if Daly plays this weekend. Flores has been terrible in most games. Let ‘em all play to see if anyone heats up.
  16. I think our odds would be better of reaching Omaha if we avoid the highest seeds in the super regional even if that means hitting the road for the regional. I’d rather be paired with the 6-8 super regional as a traveling 2 seed than host the regional and matchup 1-3 in the super. If we win the conference, I’d be surprise with better than the #12 overall. The chances of a 12-16 seed are pretty good at that point. We will see before too long.
  17. Let’s get a bit literal here. Sweeping KU. Or BU. Or KSU. TCU even. Or winning 2-3 versus OSU. Puts us in the same spot as going 1-2, which means not getting swept, versus OU. And the games against BU, KSU, and OSU we considerably more winnable. But an emotional fan response is understandable. And most of the give a damns about finishing 2-3-4 in conference will be forgotten if a CWS berth is achieved.
  18. Like preseason football pollls. And I’m ok with it. Adds passion to it.
  19. They all sort of impact each other. Thomas only is where he is because he was allowed to play through the struggles. A huge part of that was Flores hitting .100 and getting himself benched. Flores has done almost nothing to warrant more play time. I’m fine with him getting it in games like tonight.
  20. He’s been quite good. Get him some nil deals and bring him back.
  21. All true. He probably benefited from Flores being so poor too. Had Flores come out strong, Powell probably gets first and never looks back and Flores sticks at 3rd. Really the other option was Carlson to 3rd and Powell to 1st. Pierce went with Thomas over this one obviously.
  22. I’d rather go there than Wake or probably Tennessee. Their pitching is a little lacking. But gotta face em all at some point.
