  1. I haven't seen the SHSU game, but it sure seems to have changed a lot of minds. Hope y'all are right. A&M looks pretty good. It's a year where it's hard to tell how good anyone is. I know we have a great defense. That's about it. Craver and the Mexican guy for A&M, are they really that unstoppable or is it the competition? So very hard to tell so far. Okay, time for another drink, my friends.
  2. Okay, Houston. What do I do now? We turned the battery off in that tool, so just float out there. Why, Houston? The other astronauts just wanted to lock you out of the spacecraft for awhile so they can sleep without worrying about you accidentally turning off the oxygen, again.
  3. Another insufferable Aggie promotional spot. I'm sure this will net them the universal love and appreciation they so deserve. Understood at last.
  4. The course of the US is set. We're headed for the even shittier shit vortex of fascism. That said, I'll take my small pleasures where I can get them. If I had a lead pipe while standing on the listing deck of a torpedoed ship and the captain of the U-Boat boarded to laugh at us; I'd still smash out his brains whether it saved my ship or not. If I was in a cage and the warden slid on some dogshit and fell into even more, I'd still laugh my ass off. These people like watching pain? They've given me a taste for it as well. On with the leopard show!
  5. Fucking Joe Biden puppeteers ruining everything making President Trump's job of making America great again all the more difficult. Trump will vilify and fire some toady who thought he was Trump's trusted friend. Like a dog, he will be fired. No matter how bad it gets, they're not going to vote Democratic. You've seen the repeated rhetoric. The Dems are an ebil enemy that hates God and America. That delusion is indelible. Say "Democrat" in MAGA country and poof:
  6. Are they out of their fucking minds? The whole thing smells like, "We're kind of a big thing." Rollercoaster. We know the drill.
  7. I think we did the same thing after beating Alabama, didn't we? A Letter of Authenticity, too! All elite programs do this.
  8. So did about 50 million other people.
  9. Is there MAGA propaganda or flags or rallies or anything else where they're, "Yay ICE!"? I'm ignorant, so the question is unprejudiced. I missed the whole rapture hullabaloo. I know MAGA loves cruelty and scorn for Hispanics doing all the hard work around here, but do they cheer the instrument? Thanks for informing my lazy ass.
  10. Is there anyone actually pro-ICE? I don't think they have the unearned stature of the cops or the earned stature of firefighters. I wonder if the right just sorta stays quiet on the subject of masked, armored, heavily armed thugs rounding up people who are now missed in the fields and at the factories. Fucking Idiot World. The north wind feels nice in Johnson City. I think a Trump guy took his two flags down. They were on the gate to a nice piece of land. I wonder if we can get reports on Trump flags as we do about candidate signs prior to elections.
  11. And what were they doing walking around free if you knew where they were, Donald? Oh, how much vomit can the adherents lap up?
  12. Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United State of America!
  13. They thought they'd benefit from the cessation of all the handouts they imagined their hardworking immigrants were getting. Surely no one will detain or terrify your hardworking immigrants away from working hard at low wages and no benefits so you can brag about bottom line. Nope. No transfer of (more) government benefits to you because eliminating imaginary handouts yields no money. Oh, and your labor force is diminished or gone altogether. You bought into the fear and hate of brown immigrants. You voted hate and fear. You delighted in cruelty towards them. Now, dumbass, you wonder why they're not coming around like they used to. You villify people who come here, work hard, and send money to family in horrible places. You ever try that, dickhead? They're largely better people than you. And me for that matter. You didn't make a political or policy decision while deciding your vote. You voted your spittle.
  14. My God, man. Never forget! These men and women risk their lives daily! For you!
  15. Not a quote. I use pictures of some posts so they can't be easily read by Hermano Grande.
  16. I don't have much of an opinion about the camp reopening. If people dedicated to the tradition of the place (aside from 27 drowned girls) want to keep it going, that's none of my business. I despise the ownership and their culpability. I despise that they claim heroism for one of the culpable who drowned with the girls. I'm fine if the place gets sued off the face of the earth and criminal culpability is established and prosecuted. I don't see how the grief of the parents should control anything. They should voice their opinion and discourage participation in the camp. I'm not taking up their fight because, to me, it's one of those things that gets overplayed in the media. If you're not materially hurting somebody, you should have the liberty to make your own decisions. Again, the thought of the last moments of those girls haunts me. No longer daily, but any mention of anything related to their terrible deaths re-awakens my horror and sadness.
  17. Amen. I've always liked the guy, too. When he was mentioned for the Texas job, I didn't hate the idea. He just seems a little more small town. I'd be glad to see him on a college football show.
  18. Not that you're wrong, but this guy should be considered in some contexts.
  19. Gundy's story has had a great arc that is now complete. What do you see happening? Whatever you do, don't start a new thread, my friend.
  20. Sounds like I'd rather do you.
  21. I'll just whisper it in her ear.
  22. Olin unintentionally describes the problem with Aggies. But first, here's where you need to do some ironing! Or hire a better draper. Yes, despite a world-shaking everybody-is-talking-about-us 3-0 start, despite that!, they don't want to believe they've arrived! Aggies everywhere choke on their Aggie cigars for a new reason, they stop getting the light just right on their limited edition plastic Ol' Sarge statuette while leaving space for the Notre Dame score limited edition plastic cup. Finish? You mean wait for even more validation by the world that we're a magical place that all secretly wish they were part of? This speaks more to what Elko knows he must remind Aggies rather than any possilbe dullness of his own mind: Most places do not need this reminder. Most places don't believe they have boarded an ever-ascending train only to be shocked it's actually a broken rollercoaster. He also reveals just where A&M stands in the world of college football. Do actual "programs" see themelves in this way? This sounds like what Purdue or Syracuse might say after such a win. We're moving up as a program! Then they resume being where they belong until the next marquis win upset. Actual programs are the ones programs like A&M excessively celebrate their occasional (inevitable) underdog victories against. It's the overdog who is the program. The underdog is the wannabe.
