  1. I've listened to our award winners and some other Longhorns the last few days. I don't hear them speak much because player interviews usually bore me. You can hear the higher GPA when these guys express themselves. I recall a reporter noting the difference in Longhorn player performance in press interviews versus USC's players back in 2005. I've always liked, since the DKR days when I first recall Texas football, how our players present as smiling and mature in their team photos. Not all of the players have been models of the way young men should be, but a lot of guys from here are good sorts. I'm avoiding the "well-spoken" trap as best I can. I did have an unconscious prejudice in expectation of what Black athletes might sound like long ago. I've been internally embarrassed to have had to root it out as I heard and was around more Black people. Avery Johnson of the Spurs looked like a thug to me. What an idiot I can be. Anyway, I like being proud of our guys beyond on-field performance. For every Erxleben there are many guys like Earl or Ricky or Taaffe or Huff or Colt. It adds to the pleasure of being a Longhorn when we're winning. Lastly, I don't claim that we're the only team that has such players. I'm glad that we're one of them is all.
  2. It was the freeze frame on google. It's what drew my attention. Such genius. These cartoons worked brilliantly on the big screen back in the old days when they showed cartoons before the feature.
  3. Oh, William. The long rollercoaster ride awaited. As did the result.
  4. linux redux (no grudge for linux)
  5. I don't have any great knowledge of what's going on with other teams, but it appears USCe is for real. I think it's nearer a sure loss unless South Carolina is decimated by the portal and graduation. Of course, they won't face the grind of facing the Bowling Green Seniors this year. Some of those SEC away games might be at night.
  6. Same time. Same places. Same record.
  7. Learning your value on the market can open one's eyes to one's overestimation of oneself. The lesson: you gotta get to work, son.
  8. See, their class is as good as ours! Well, almost.
  9. I'm reminded of the term, Slocum's Razor.
  10. Those are astonishing levels of convolution.
  11. How does one define "investing $1 Billion in the USA?" Oh, who cares really? Nobody that matters. Never mind.
  12. Frankly, there is no better person to represent America's voice. It's who we are.
  13. Sark a program builder? Of course not, you fools! He was 5-7 his first year at tu! Their recent consecutive appearances in the college playoff prove just how poorly he's performed as a program builder! Some of you are so stupid! There you have it.
  14. Hi, I'm almost a college quarterback. What do you do? I'm head JV cheerleader.
  15. Actually, your original point addressed the claim that the Duke degree would have value for Murphy. I made a grammar error. Do you admit errors? As for you presuming to know what my goal is in using whom (dative), you project aquality typical of you by almost diagramming a sentence with a single letter wrong. Nice work, Slick. Help yourself to the bowl of Christmas dingleberries on the way out.
  16. A little more from the Marroon Dawn v Vander cage match: [I'm just going to point out the psychopathy of jcag recalling a Maroon Dawn post from three years ago and actually having it bookmarked. That's some heavy Aggie stalker shit there, man.] Vander returns to take up the argument leaving jcag to keep on eye on Maroon Dawn. (Feels like I'm writing a screenplay.) Will he even practice? I see him with wizened visage sagely leaning on a fence post filing his nails. "You boys have any questions about throwing interceptions, I'm your man." Muk agrees: But, wait! Now it seems like he is a stud: That accounts for all of his touchdown passes last year. Wait, he didn't play Georgia last year. From the UAB site for 2023
  17. On Zeno from TexAgs. They're having trouble getting fired up. This is some serious mutinous talk here. Not even one, "if he chose A&M, he must be an Elko culture guy! Look at the film." You know these 23 guys were roaming around waiting for a shepherd to show them the way. Every team wants a back up qb with a history of throwing interceptions. Hope we can find at least one! More insight coming in: Disaster-proof was Zeno's nickname! The 20 upvotes are sips, too? The nickname: bitterness and dawning realization about the direction of the program. Stunning to see this early on TexAgs. The naivetes are restless. Cue sunshine with accompanying pump. The parrots are studying the above to spread the copium. That phrase will return often in the coming month. Maroon Dawn isn't having it: Charlie is a fast-learning parrot. Moving towards "Zeno is perfect for us." Parrots Just cruising past the rest of the dross, I come upon Yogi Berra Ag: You played at A&M! Wow! Were you a starter? I started at back-up quarterback.
  18. Sydney Carton already diced this up pretty well. I'm guessing you have a degree in engineering or something that does define the exact job you'll have waiting when you get out. You also seem to have the quaint notion that people in most disciplines can immediately apply what they learned in college to real life. You need to get out more. A college degree from a reputable college in any discipline is a door opener. I know persons whom have graduated from Vanderbilt or Yale or Michigan. I don't know what their exact courses of study were. The name of the school says plenty. It's ironic that your course of study fails you in your effort to you denigrate other paths. Did they teach irony in your discipline? You do write well. C'mon, guys. He's standing right there. Be nice.
  19. You were already shadowesque against SCAR and Auburn. Rich in Agginess: Thinking! 1 Manly Aggie! Terrifying to think of. Manly manful thinking of the masculine sort. Pussies! All of them! 2 These 2%er quitters don't have the stuff to workout with a manful Aggie trainer from the grinding SEC. 3 Elko, clearly leading through example, wants to bring the macho out of these wusses. Thank the God of War! 4 Just give them time to install their system and players and look out!
  20. But the Aggies are "hitting that portal hard" to build their team! Just hit it hard with NIL bags in this new era of football not to be used to define the Aggie record against t.u.. That's a lotta stuff to hold in a small brain with the wrinkles of an egg. Then, the portal is the place to go! Hit. Hard. There are better third stringers to be had! The era of development is over. You sayin' Sheriff Elko ain't know what he's doin'?
  21. Seemed sort of hostile that I must be some kind of genetically deficient human to have failed to grasp the importance of Pat McAfee nor even know his name. Okay, maybe I read too much into it. I remain unfamiliar with McAfee. I meant merely to be pointed rather than hostile. Apologies if I missed the mark.
  22. The guys on TexAgs are urging the coaching staff to hit the portal hard in this new era of NIL. I expect great results if Elko listens to their collective genius.
