  1. That's why they're so lost and need Erick to set 'em straight.
  2. Now, bo-ah, Imma expla-ain the way yo-uh coloreds-- oops. Shoulda said negro. Anyway, bo-ah, you just don't know the black folks workin' black jobs like ah do. I've talked to some. This uppity daughter of a Jamaican and uh Indian, red dot, with some kinda Jew mixed in there, well that ain't gonna fly with ou-uh coloreds-- negros! down heah in Missssipppi.
  3. Are there respectable Republicans? The party functions similarly to the way we've criticized police departments. There are bad apples (evidently even more than we think) doing terrible things. There are enablers who align with them and support them through inaction. So it is with GOPs who contribute to that party and vote for the current GOP/anti-republic party. Is that respectable? I'm having trouble seeing how. I've recently reconciled with my sister after a long silence. It was a relief and a joy. At our last meeting with some of her family, she makes it clear that she is pro-Trump. I feel something like a soldier of the French Resistance who has learned his sister is helping the Nazis. This is very troubling to me. I'm still roiling with thoughts about it. The GOP is about racism, enslaving women to their ability to have children, and imposing a religion that they've misnamed Christianity on the country. They want to ignore the global climate crisis and squeeze every last dime they can out of what may destroy us. The rich will be at fantastic estates in the mountains. The regular fools who voted them into power will blame the Socialist Dems. Idiot World. I can't have anything to do with such wickedness. I've only used that word to describe Nixon (we'd be so much better off with him instead of Trump) and, for the last several years, all the malignancy of what has become the right. Your party may perish. You may not have the choice to vote for actual conservative values. You haven't had that choice for a few decades anyway. Make sure you're not just pulling for the jersey. I can't imagine why a person worthy of any respect would continue to do so. I suppose being a fool would mitigate guilt and invite less scorn but still no respect.
  4. I'm glad they've turned. Michael Steele has been a vocal critic for a long time. I will point out that most if not all of these GOPs surfed the Hate Wave knowingly. Former GOP voters who have abandoned the anti-republic party were mostly deceived into believing their votes went for actual values. Party functionaries and candidates cannot make that claim. With the exception of Dick Cheney and Paul Ryan, those on the list have all, at one time or another, done something that I admire and respect. I don't know if any of them have recognized and disowned the hate engine publicly. Although not named, Liz Cheney performed admirably for the country after Jan. 6. Has she addressed the dark side of the GOP? I honestly don't know.
  5. They used to have it in an apartment complex pool which was as glamorous as you can imagine. I believe they use the one below, now.
  6. Don't forget this shitheel was in on the Russian meddling and money. This Washington Post video is worth watching all the way through because of the clever way the Post caught Ryan in several lies. https://youtu.be/eFAugsKExNI "...Just like I rhymed person, woman, man, camera, TV. But my rhyme...people tell me my rhymes are the best..." I thought this was an attack. I even looked up Gen Z Brat. I was going to mock it because so much of it is her being playful which is compelling. You're right. No more boomers making any decisions.
  7. Really? The generational line is so precise and telling about someone that you would judge by that criterion? That's so very shallow, my friend. I think age can be a criterion but only insofar as how it physically and mentally impacts a candidate. I think we do find common ground in wanting a change of guard which is happening judging by the Dem leader in Congress and emerging younger leaders in both parties. I have often advocated for not voting for white men where possible. I'm a boomer. I never think that I will be best understood or represented by someone my age or of my arbitrary generation. I'm older than Harris. To me, she's pretty crisp and vital.
  8. I haven't opend a political thread since the debate where I was happy to read anything. All of Trump's scorn for a guy a few years older than him now coming back at himself is glorious. We may not win, but at least I'm feeling alive again.
  9. I don't know what that means. Forgive my denseness, but what do you mean?
  10. It won't happen, but Harris/Whitmer would delight me so much should they win. White man? Step aside. It's so fucking time.
  11. He's also vain and sure he's the smartest guy in the world. If the polls show him losing ground, I think he'll insist. That said, my predictions are the worst. Young guy.
  12. Seriously? She looks like Javier Vardem. This is a great cartoonist, but I don't love the cutesy stuff like this.
  13. It will play to their zombies. They're lost causes. Anybody who doubted Biden who matters only started doing so seriously after the debate.
  14. I hope that's true, but the deplorables will still be there somehow keeping the race close when this shouldn't even be a race at all. But, baby steps. If Trump loses and passes into a final grift and maybe jail, what next? I'm not optimistic we'll see someone from that side who is any better.
  15. I just opened this thread not knowing what had happened. I'm relieved and encouraged. All those voters (many young who would vote against Trump) have been unhappy with the choice between two old men. They've got a point. Surely this will charge them up. Harris has not been my favorite, but I think she's fine as a candidate. I hope Trump calls her a nasty woman should he have the balls to debate her. I'll also say thank you to Joe Biden. He was the only thing between consecutive Trump terms. He also led well. It's a shame age caught up with him, but what a ride late in life: President of the United States. I don't think the move will attract many white male voters, but hell, they have me.
  16. I wonder what this guy sees when he thinks of the team and them reading these things from 2011. Now listen, fellas. These wise guys at tu had a lot to say 13 years ago when the Aggies left for the SEC. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, boys, but some of it was pretty rough. Stuff like they didn't want to play us and that we were no good! I can see you're as fired up as I am. Now let's go out there and show 'em the rough tough real stuff! Whaddaya say? HOWDY! HOWDY! HOWDY! HOWDY!
  17. Why would be so sure they'll beat the Aggies? It's a road game for A&M and they have a pretty disgraceful SEC road losing streak. I didn't know the opinion of Florida was so low, so what's the reasoning?
  18. Plus, Darrell Royal said that he thought most people thought of UT as theirs because it's the state's school. I love that idea, and I've seen it for decades. I don't need this to be an exclusive club, nor do we need some lame dodge for facing competitors. Texas will never feel for the Aggies what many feel for the Longhorns.
  19. We've got a no nonsense coach now that will toughen everybody up. This unique and refreshing viewpoint has Aggies practicing, working out, and being manlier! He's not like the four lazy. slack, all-for-nonsense coaches we've had since RC.
  20. Two remarkably insightful posts. Keep 'em coming.
  21. Excellent call. Most likely don't know what youire talking about. Outrageous attack by Israel on US Navy ship. But why? But why? I recollect reading that the reason was to shield their attack on the Golan Heights. The above said the Israelis were avoiding being caught violating a ceasefire which had not even been agreed upon yet. The cease fire stuff is specious. Still, Israel wanted to obscure their move against the Golan Heights because Israel had said they would not make that attack. They didn't want to be restrained by the American objections. Better to seek forgiveness than permission. The observation by the Russian author is new to me and makes sense. I sort of admire the Russian pragmatism of saying the attack was therefore justified as, presumably, it was in the national interests of Israel. Johnson was president at the time. He was a pragmatist. I don't think he wanted the hot potato of getting in the middle of this. I am outraged everytime I dig into this story. There's nothing to be done now. The captain of the Liberty received the Medal of Honor but was awarded the medal at a base instead of the White House. Shame all around except for the captain and crew of the Liberty who refused any aid by the Israelis after the attack ended. He knew the score. The tail is wagging the biggest dog in the world. I hate that. To be clear, I mean Israel not persons of Jewish faith. It's a shame that I have to add that clarification.
  22. The Israelis have crippled the entire economy of Yemen because the Houthis, who, as I understand it, are fighting the government of Yemen, fired a missile at Israel. In wikipedia, I just read that the Houthis are Iran-backed. Does this make any sense to anyone? I truly don't know a great deal about the area other than the war is ruthless and we're participating in making things worse there. But that's how we roll.
  23. They're always get their heads caved in when it comes to arguing that A&M is great or wearing all their Aggie gear and drawing attention to themselves. They whoop or brag or deliver one of their stale insults and get creamed by the retorts. They use the t-shirt thing likes it's a rule of evidence (hope I used that right) or something. Your honor, that statement by someone brighter than me is inadmissable because that person never attended tu. Therefore, I ask the remark be stricken from the record and all Aggies be instructed to disregard the remarks. They're trying to limit the pool of people allowed to best them in discussions about A&M and Texas.
