  1. I don't know why anyone would need a picture of a charred baby to prove the absolute cruelty of Hamas' attack on Israel. No one should require that bit of evidence, either. The evidence is overwhelming. I despise and deplore what Israel is doing in Gaza and now Lebanon exploiting the horror of that attack, but I stipulate to the facts of the Hamas attack. I'll just check in to say that our soft touch for Israel remains a disgrace to this country and administration. Today, I heard on the radio that the Israeli's have been allowing only 30 trucks of humanitarian supplies into Gaza while killing 20 more women and children in Northern Gaza. Israeli Government Press Liaison gets call from press about civilians slaughtered in high explosive bombing of refuge: Uh, lets see. Right, says right here, "we were attacking Hamas militants doing our best to avert civilian casualties." Okay. Good enough for the shining city on a hill!
  2. I've hated that shit for decades. The primaries are not actually stages in a horse race. Why should the vote in the fucking Iowa caucuses have any impact on voters nationwide? But it does. Why, I ask: There's a template that dictates the easiest, most worn paths to avoid actually working to get news stories. Iowa seemed to provide "momentum" for a candidate once, so the national media cover it like the Normandy Invasion every election since. It has great impact on who will even be in the race on Super Tuesday which is just stupid. The notion of not being the newsstory yourself is out the window. They do not recognize their function as a magnifying glass or microscope lending size and importance to otherwise miniscule events. The above is not really a newsstory at all. It's predictable and irrelevant. TV news media absolutely love it. As stated by @Biff Tannen, a horse race is more fun to cover and get viewers than a political contest. So let's frame one as the other. Iowa?
  3. He's expected to be a savior at multiple positions. He'll end up under the bus at some point for not being the impossible contributor they imagine the dynamic freshman to be.
  4. It looked painful. Best of luck to him. Remember the Aggies talking about how we would be ground down by the SEC? They were relishing the prospect. I don't believe in this kind of shit, but maybe they cursed themselves. Or blessed themselves. Now they have excuses and will claim with Moss they would have won out after Notre Dame.
  5. Texas Dems were a unique blend of non-bleeding heart liberalism and non-punitive conservatism. When this place was different there was, I believe from my suburban white boy perspective, a sense that you should be handling your own business and leaving me alone. But, if someone was in real bind, hands would be happily extended. Well, between white people for the most part, I suppose. We're just a couple of decades from completely transitioning to Anywhere USA NAZI Germany.
  6. Trump has worn everybody out including his own sorry ass. We live in great days.
  7. Let's provide a stage where they can regroup.
  8. Ya know, there are some great things in this thread. Funny. Topical. Non topical. I open it to the first new post. I usually respond to something then I get to the bottom of the page I started on: Fuck! I was only gone for an hour or so. It's great and demoralizing at the same time. No way I have time to read through that even if I skip the easy to spot Chili's nonsense (excepting the Washington Crossing the Delaware bit of genius). Nothing to be done about it. I just wanted to whine for a bit. Carry on.
  9. I guess they didn't interfere with any governmental function which is the new no-fault Treason of the 21st Century.
  10. Hard to beat find solid rational thinking: After the irrelevant, knee-jerk opening, we get to the logic. A. Good stuff will happen after a loss to Texas. B. I say this because good stuff happened in another sport after we defeated Texas. C. Therefore we will have our most talented roster ever should we lose to Texas.
  11. Barbies vote!
  12. So, you think you're some kind of psychologist or anthropologist?
  13. Fuck you. I've been captivated since Safety Not Guaranteed, a good little movie.
  14. It's that hilarious thing some do when a stupid subject comes up. You see, it's hysterically funny to keep talking it about for pages then referring to it in other contexts. I'm busting a gut here.
  15. I was thinking last week about how they view the sports media. Any observation is interpreted purely in emotional terms. Sportscaster 1 hates us. He said we were over-rated. He's an idiot. Sportscaster 2 said we were real contenders. He's always been the best, and he loves us. People outside of Texas generally don't have any feelings about the Texas A&M Aggies at all. When they make news through good play or weird traditions, they get a moment in the sun and then it passes. Nobody has a vendetta against them, nor has anyone seen the light of how glorious Aggie is. Nobody cares that much. They can't live with that. Every other fan base is able to deal with that.
  16. Yea! Let's see how many of those teams could have withstood the wrath of a senior-laden Bowling Green team. And South Carolina would be a top team if they were in the SEC just like Bowling Green would be right in the middle. I like the TexAgs who won't even consider that maybe they were wrong about how good this team would be/is. They just had a bad day against S. Carolina. Texas was just exposed against Georgia. We never had a good half, oh wait, we won the second half instead of being shut out by an unranked team. Our defense never surrendered. And we all think it sucked rather than finding partial victory in a thorough beating. Guess what, Aggies. Texas is better than Bowling Green and S. Carolina and Notre Dame. I find the atmosphere in Fayetteville much more potentially daunting than Kyle Field. Listen to the realists that you've accidentally let in.
  17. These guys mating, nut squeezing, or humping it or what?
  18. @deech I do, my friend. We have loser mentality among some of our fans. Some of those guys just enjoy being pessimists. However, it's not a cult trait obeyed by all. We have many clear thinkers and observers.
  19. Ahhh, the football board. A&M's offense will be smothered by our defense. There will be sacks and likely turnovers as well as good field position despite their excellent punter. Our OL will win some of the battles with their DL. Even on the plays where we don't, their DL is undisciplined at gap control. Quinn will be a few more weeks from his injury and the jury will be in on whether he is ruined or back to standard. If he isn't, it's Arch. Last game of the season, he should be ready to takeover. I don't think the totality of the Aggie defense (they're better than I thought they'd be) can deal with our powerful TE and all the receivers we flood the field with. It's not a sure win by any means. But we'll be rightfully favored.
  20. No. I don't know how that would impact my premise in general. Our QBs objectively played poorly that game. I don't think bad ref calls impacted the outcome. Thanks for bringing it up and brightening everyone's day.
  21. This message is a common one after an Aggie loss. The copium of aloofness: ETA Maybe this will become an Aggie Snappy Answers post.
  22. My boy has Texas A&M written all over him. I'd find all of that money remarkably distracting. If your motivation is flagging at all, think of all the daydreams about how you could live your life. Paying a coach $20MM a year is just crazy unless maybe it was Saban six years ago.
